- Chapter 22 - Ice Release Kekkei Genkai, Copying Ice Release Secret Techniques!
[Exchange Successful]
The mechanical voice echoed.
A pale blue fruit appeared out of thin air in Kaguya Naoki’s hand, catching him off guard.
Naoki, who had never exchanged or fused other kekkei genkai through the system, looked at the peculiar fruit in his hand and fell into deep thought.
This was a form he had never imagined.
Who would have thought that the Ice Release kekkei genkai could be encapsulated in a form similar to a Devil Fruit?
Gathering his wits, Naoki took a deep breath and bit into the Ice Release Fruit.
Crunch!
It was crisp and sweet.
Naoki quickly consumed the remaining fruit in one go, noticing no adverse reaction.
As a cool sensation began to spread in his stomach, a mysterious force engraved specific abilities into his genes!
Under this force, his body’s Water Release chakra and Wind Release chakra underwent a sudden transformation. The two chakras expanded and merged, blending seamlessly.
After a long while, the changes ceased, and the two chakras returned to calm.
Naoki opened his eyes, sensing the changes in his body. He channeled his chakra, and a chill emanated from his hand.
So, this is the power of Ice Release?
Instead of being pleased, Naoki felt worried. Despite repeated attempts, he could only produce a burst of cold air.
Following the hand seals of the Yuki clan from his memory, Naoki’s hands flew through the signs, and then he muttered:
Ice Release: Ice Mirror Technique.
Even after his invocation, only a stronger cold wind appeared.
Why can’t I form it?
Naoki couldn’t help but feel a bad premonition.
Turning to the system, he saw the ice-release secret techniques option.
Is it essential to use the system for this? Isn’t it a waste of exchange points?
Just as Naoki furrowed his brow, he thought of an old acquaintance.
Kakashi Hatake, the Copy Ninja, could replicate jutsu with his Sharingan. With the superior insight of his Byakugan, Naoki should find it even easier to replicate techniques.
Naoki began to recall how Kakashi managed to copy jutsu.
Hand signs and chakra flow paths.
That’s it!
Naoki’s eyes brightened, remembering the importance of chakra flow paths.
As long as he mastered the chakra flow paths and hand signs and had the corresponding chakra nature, he could replicate jutsu.
The secret techniques of kekkei genkai clans were complex to copy because of their unique chakra nature.
But now, with Ice Release kekkei genkai, Naoki naturally didn’t have to worry about this.
Relaxing his furrowed brow, Naoki felt a sense of clarity.
He needed to observe a Yuki clan member performing the hand signs and the corresponding chakra flow paths, and he could likely learn the Ice Release techniques.
In theory, this was entirely feasible, which invigorated Naoki.
However, observing such things outside of combat was challenging.
Naoki’s good mood diminished, and he sighed.
Unless he were fortunate enough to catch the Yuki clan members training, the best method would be to combat them.
With war on the horizon, there was no time to waste. Even after learning Ice Release, he would need time to hone it.
Naoki decided, stepping into the darkness and heading towards the Yuki clan’s territory.
The moon and stars were sparse, the perfect prelude to war. The increasing presence of ninjas in the village only made Naoki’s mission more difficult.
Fortunately, he had his Byakugan.
Naoki gently touched his eye sockets.
With these eyes, even if discovered by village ninjas, he could escape in time.
Relying on his Byakugan to avoid detection, he soon reached the outskirts of the Yuki clan’s territory.
Naoki hid in the shadows some distance from the Yuki clan’s land, using his Byakugan to survey the area.
In his field of vision, apart from a few jonin-level chakra signatures in the Yuki clan’s territory, there were only a few scattered genin in the nearby civilian area; not even a single chunin was in sight.
These observations allowed Naoki to breathe a sigh of relief.
Initially, he thought finding an opportunity would be complicated. Unexpectedly, the divide between civilians and kekkei genkai clans provided an unexpected benefit.
Near the Yuki clan’s territory were large uninhabited areas perfect for his actions.
Now, he needed to find a suitable target, capture them, and take them to a secluded spot for a fight.
Though he couldn’t use Shikotsumyaku or Hozuki clan techniques, relying on his Byakugan and taijutsu to close the distance against a long-range Yuki clan join should be manageable.
Naoki activated his Byakugan, silently observing the Yuki clan’s territory.
Naoki’s patience wore thin after waiting a long time without seeing anyone, and the sky brightened.
Forget it. How long would this take?
Naoki formed hand seals, creating a bone clone beside him.
“Put on an Anbu uniform and summon a Yuki jonin named Shaku.”
The bone clone nodded stiffly, donning a Kirigakure Anbu uniform and heading toward the Yuki clan’s territory.
Knock, knock, knock!
The bone clone knocked on the gate, and a Yuki clan member peeked out.
“What is it?”
“A certain person wants to see Yuki Shaku.”
“Elder Shaku?”
The clan member frowned, scrutinizing the bone clone suspiciously.
“Who is this person?”
The bone clone smirked.
“That’s not something you need to know, genin.”
“With the war on the brink and powerful ninjas gathering, who in the village would dare attack two jonin without reason?”
The Yuki clan member nodded slightly, accepting the explanation.
“Wait here, I’ll notify Elder Shaku.”
Naoki observed everything with his Byakugan.
Seeing his clone’s smooth progress, Naoki donned a Konoha Anbu mask and headband.
He then formed hand seals, creating several bone clones resembling Konoha ninjas.
“Put them on.”
The bone clones mechanically nodded, donning Konoha Anbu masks and headbands.
Though it seemed far-fetched for a large group of Konoha Anbu to infiltrate Kirigakure and attack the Yuki clan, as long as suspicion didn’t fall on him, it was fine.
Naoki muttered, keeping his Byakugan trained on his clone and the approaching Yuki Shaku. When they entered an uninhabited area, he whispered,
“Go!”
The bone clones moved swiftly.
Naoki led the charge, holding a kunai positioning himself opposite Yuki Shaku and his clone.
“Konoha ninjas!”
Shaku exclaimed, quickly forming hand seals and attempting to distance himself from the seemingly treacherous Anbu.
“Lord Shaku, cover me!” the bone clone shouted, dispelling Shaku’s rising suspicion.
Shaku stopped and turned to face the Konoha ninjas, forming hand seals and asking the bone clone,
“What jutsu are you preparing?”
At that moment, a powerful gust of wind alerted him.
That Anbu was indeed suspicious.
Shaku, a seasoned jonin, raised his hand to block and counterattack the problematic Anbu, ready to confront the incoming enemy.
Then, a tearing sound came from behind.
How did they get so close, so fast?
This was his last thought.
Bang!
Shaku fell.
A Jonin, taken down without even using his clan’s secret techniques.
The first belonged to Naoki.
With the target captured, it was time to see if he could genuinely learn Ice Release secret techniques this way.
Hopefully, it works.
