Naruto Kirigakure System - Chapter 41
“Where is Ryota?”
Naoki Kaguya asked as he carried a few bottles of chakra potion, pushing his way through the already crowded “hospital” full of injured soldiers.
“Naoki-sama, he’s over there. I brought Ryota-sama back!”
Naoki turned around, scanning the emotional faces of the Kirigakure ninjas, then followed the pointing ninja’s direction towards Ryota Kaguya.
As he approached, his gaze continuously swept over Ryota’s body, and his heart sank.
On the bed, Ryota Kaguya lay with his eyes closed, his lips soaked in blood, his arms hanging limply over the edges.
When an assistant turned his body, they revealed large patches of missing flesh, clearly the result of an explosion.
“Can he be saved?”
Naoki Kaguya couldn’t bear to look and turned his head towards Rin Nohara.
“It’s very difficult.”
Rin sighed, feeling a sense of admiration for Ryota Kaguya.
Surviving such extensive explosive injuries was already a miracle, let alone treating them.
Hearing Rin’s sigh, Naoki’s expression changed. Treating it as a last resort, he bent down and poured all the green potions, meant to restore life force and chakra, into Ryota’s mouth.
There was no sign of regenerating flesh or improved complexion, but the missing bones began to grow back slowly with the help of the chakra restoration.
Shikotsumyaku?
Naoki’s eyes showed a hint of excitement.
As a Shikotsumyaku user, he knew the rapid recovery was due to Ryota’s unique physiology.
Initially, Ryota’s chakra and life force were likely depleted, preventing the Shikotsumyaku from functioning. Now, under the effect of the green potion, recovery was possible.
He can be saved.
However, it will take more resources!
Without hesitation, Naoki poured another bottle into Ryota’s mouth. The speed of bone recovery visibly increased, and even the flesh began to regenerate slowly.
One more bottle.
Good.
Naoki smiled, and beside him, Rin Nohara, beneath her mask, widened her eyes in astonishment as she looked at the potions in Naoki’s hand.
What kind of potion is this?
It’s so miraculous.
The wounds that were supposed to be fatal.
No.
Rin quickly realized the truth.
It might be the combined effect of the potion and Ryota’s unique physiology.
“Alright, Rin, how about now?”
Rin returned to her senses and quickly examined Ryota’s body. After a careful inspection, she stood up and nodded vigorously.
“Now, he’ll be fine.”
Naoki sighed in relief, ready to leave, but paused to place the remaining three potion bottles in his arms beside Ryota.
“Rin.”
“Use them as needed.”
With that, Naoki turned to leave. The injured soldiers, who had been watching, immediately stood up, filling the space Naoki had just turned away from.
Naoki paused, thinking it was the usual sincere admiration for the strong.
He raised his eyes to see a different expression than usual.
No hunger.
Only sincere gratitude in their eyes.
One ninja, his voice trembling with emotion, spoke up.
“Thank you, Naoki-sama, for building this hospital and giving us a chance to survive.”
As his voice fell, the ninja bowed, prompting the surrounding onlookers to do the same.
This wasn’t about battle achievements or strength but genuine gratitude from the heart.
Seeing this, Naoki replied softly.
“It’s what I should do.”
In his heart, however, he felt a bit of bitterness.
An ordinary hospital, commonplace in other villages, with just one qualified doctor, could elicit such heartfelt gratitude from so many ninjas.
Kirigakure, you need to improve.
Naoki sighed, not feeling joy from quickly gaining their loyalty but rather a heaviness in his heart.
This must change eventually.
To make such things commonplace in Kirigakure.
So, that gratitude isn’t just for a single hospital.
It will change.
I promise.
Naoki silently vowed, shifting his thoughts to the ongoing war as he walked out the door to find Mei Terumi for strategic planning.
The door closed behind him, and Naoki left the hospital.
Inside, a pair of complex eyes turned from the door.
“Naoki Kaguya truly is…”
Rin Nohara paused, searching her mind for the correct term.
“Truly a godsend for Kirigakure.”
In such a backward, impoverished village, with almost no medical ninjas, where most ninjas could only rely on endurance to recover, no one would focus on building a hospital.
With his insistence, only Naoki established a hospital in this war camp, albeit with just one doctor.
Thinking of this, Rin couldn’t help but smile.
A ridiculous insistence that saved many lives, right?
She looked around at the seemingly bloodthirsty but inherently kind Kirigakure ninjas.
If he becomes Mizukage, things will get better, right?
It could save more lives.
…
“Mei, is this the information on Sunagakure?”
Naoki pointed at the data, feeling incredulous.
“Are these troop numbers for real?”
Mei Terumi shook her head, her red hair flying. Her eyes fixed on Naoki’s face, she spoke calmly.
“I’m also surprised. How can Sunagakure be so weak?”
“Indeed, to be called weak by our village, only Sunagakure fits the bill.”
Naoki replied, smirking as he put away the scroll and prepared to leave.
Mei’s wandering gaze focused, and she stood up helplessly.
“Naoki, we haven’t finalized our strategy yet.”
Naoki waved the intelligence in his hand, chuckling.
“With such low numbers, what strategy is needed?”
“Before Konoha can react, I’ll take a few people and finish them off.”
He waved dismissively and disappeared out the door. Mei quickly called out.
“Naoki, be careful of Pakura from Sunagakure.”
“Her Scorch Release, if you’re not careful…”
“I know, don’t forget about my Ice Release.”
Mei heard Naoki’s calm tone and wanted to emphasize it further, but he was already out of sight, forcing her to sit back down.
Strategy is always about you going off to kill everyone, so what’s the point of us?
Propping her chin, Mei sighed again.
But the best solution is to send you.
With the ability to fly using Ice Release, enormous chakra reserves, overwhelming combat power against ordinary ninjas, and a body that is hard to injure.
Only a monster like you can quickly repel Sunagakure’s main forces.
Naoki, be quick.
Konoha might act soon.
