- Chapter 42 - The Goal - Make Sunagakure Surrender Within Three Days
“Understood, Naoki-sama.”
Zabuza placed the Executioner’s Blade beside him, his eyes exuding a faint killing intent.
“Before you defeat Sunagakure and return to the camp, no one will be able to interfere with the camp.”
He paused, hinting at something.
“Not even the Seven Ninja Swordsmen.”
Hearing this, Kisame’s eyes flashed, and he placed Samehada in front of him, grinning coldly.
“Of course.”
“Then, I’ll leave it to you two.”
Naoki said, turning around, but he couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.
Even maintaining the essential requirement of not fighting among themselves required the threat of violence.
The hastily assembled forces of Kirigakure were indeed fragile.
No wonder in the original timeline, Kirigakure only ended up with failures despite being the attackers.
Naoki touched his spine.
So, the task is simple: quickly defeat Sunagakure and return to suppress these guys.
“Zabuza, Kisame, let’s go.”
The two nodded silently.
Zabuza couldn’t help but glance at Kisame, feeling a bit excited.
Finally, my chance to shine.
I need to kill as much of this Sunagakure trash as possible.
I can’t afford to be outdone by this shark-head.
Turning his gaze to Naoki.
Hurry up, Naoki-sama. I can’t wait to start killing those losers.
Noticing Zabuza’s gaze, Naoki spoke immediately.
“Come on, since we need to be quick, let’s not be stingy with our chakra.”
With that, he quickly formed hand seals, and mirrors of ice appeared before him, reflected in the two’s eyes.
This is the Ice Release that can fly in the sky?
Kisame’s shark-like eyes showed a hint of curiosity as he placed his hand on Naoki’s shoulder as instructed.
Soon, a faint chakra appeared on the surface.
Ice Release chakra?
Kisame pondered.
Naoki-sama, how did you achieve this? Is it a mix of the Kaguya and Yuki clans?
As he thought this, Naoki’s voice sounded in their ears.
“Hold on tight.”
With those words, ice mirrors formed before the three, extending and piercing into the sky.
“Here we go.”
Naoki chuckled as their bodies began to move through the ice mirrors.
So fast, so high.
Zabuza grabbed his sword with one hand and held onto Naoki’s shoulder with the other, unable to stop himself from looking down.
Indeed, only Naoki-sama can be the hope of Kirigakure.
The Yuki clan couldn’t develop this technique in a thousand years, but Naoki-sama did it quickly.
“I see them.”
Naoki murmured. Zabuza returned to reality just in time to see a series of thin blue needles appear out of thin air and rain down from the sky.
Following the ice needles, he saw the swaying treetops and several figures falling to the ground.
Zabuza shivered, unable to stop looking at the Byakugan in Naoki’s eyes.
Even someone like me would have a hard time blocking that.
With the Byakugan’s sight, there’s no escaping.
Attacks from the sky with such power and angle are brutal to anticipate.
Moreover, from the shattered treetops, it’s clear these ice needles pack a punch.
“There’s more.”
Naoki said, and more bodies fell.
Zabuza felt a premonition.
I won’t get a chance to fight, will I?
Sigh.
Brought along two deadweights.
Naoki casually shot down another squad of Sunagakure ninjas, unable to stop himself from sighing.
Initially, he planned to use the Ice Release’s mobility to locate the Sunagakure ninjas and then attack on foot, relying on close combat.
However, he vastly underestimated the ninjas’ disregard for threats from the sky.
Faced with sudden, powerful, and well-angled ice senbon from the sky, many didn’t even realize they were under attack before they died.
In just a few hours, many Sunagakure ninjas had fallen.
While it didn’t match Minato’s record of instantly killing fifty ninjas, in terms of clearing out soldiers quickly, he was probably unrivaled in the ninja world.
This changes things.
The original timeline isn’t suitable anymore.
So, the goal is to defeat Sunagakure within three days.
…
“This is bad, Pakura-sama.”
“Another squad has mysteriously disappeared in the forest.”
Pakura’s expression could have been better. She punched the table in frustration.
“The twelfth squad.”
“Curse those Kirigakure bastards.”
“It must be that Naoki. No one else could do this so quickly.”
She raised her eyes, addressing the panicked Sunagakure ninja.
“Tell everyone to regroup and stop hunting Kirigakure.”
“Yes, Pakura-sama.”
The Sunagakure ninja nodded, and Pakura’s expression changed abruptly. She quickly formed hand seals, and several fireballs covered the sky.
Sizzle!
The ice needles collided with the fireballs, evaporating instantly.
Bang, bang, bang!
Pakura turned to see a rain of blue ice needles from the sky, slicing through the dense trees and piercing the Sunagakure ninjas’ bodies.
No screams were heard; the Sunagakure ninjas fell silently, their bodies riddled with holes.
Pakura gritted her teeth, raising her fireballs towards Naoki, flying in the sky.
Come down and fight, you bastard.
Wait.
He’s a Kaguya.
Pakura clenched her fists, feeling bitter.
I can’t stop him.
In the sky, I can’t even touch him.
On the ground, the tactics that worked on Ryota won’t work on him, and in close combat, it’s a death sentence.
Pakura exhaled deeply, but it didn’t ease her tension.
In her mind, there was no way to defeat Naoki.
So, are we just targets for slaughter?
Pakura shuddered.
Reluctantly drawn into war by Konoha’s pressure, she quickly formed a thought.
For Sunagakure’s future, we need to make peace.
Return to the village immediately.
Persuade the Fourth Kazekage to make peace.
That’s the only way to save more comrades!
“Naoki-sama, should I go kill her?”
Zabuza asked, his sword ready and eager to fight.
Naoki looked at Pakura, about to agree, but swallowed his words.
He remembered a scene from the original timeline.
The Fourth Kazekage used Pakura as a bargaining chip to make peace with Kirigakure, lured into a trap, and killed by Kirigakure ninjas.
Naoki smiled.
Since a free Scorch Release is being offered, how can I refuse?
As for avenging Ryota.
Letting her face the darkness of her village and feel the pain should suffice, right?
However, openly recruiting her into Kirigakure might not be ideal.
