Naruto: Konoha Silver Wolf - Chapter 16
“Die!”
Kakashi shouted angrily, his Chidori striking towards the Anbu member. Only a flash of lightning remained as Kakashi’s figure swiftly closed in on his target. The blinding light made it impossible for the Anbu member to see Kakashi’s movements.
“Not good…”
The Anbu member’s heart filled with terror as he realized he had underestimated the new member of their squad. Speed was not his forte, and there was no time to dodge. He could only raise the kunai to block Kakashi’s Chidori.
“Hmph!”
Kakashi sneered inwardly, his eyes filled with disdain. How could mere kunai withstand his Chidori? They would be pierced and destroyed just the same.
Zzzzt!
As Kakashi’s Chidori struck the crossed kunai, the powerful lightning eroded the weapons.
“Ahhh…”
The electricity coursing through the kunai caused the Anbu member to scream in pain, fear flashing in his eyes. He could see his kunai being destroyed by Kakashi’s Chidori, knowing that his body would be next.
“How… how is this possible…”
“The power of this lightning jutsu is so strong…”
The Anbu member was in utter shock, his eyes filled with panic. He couldn’t evade while blocking Kakashi’s attack, watching helplessly as his kunai eroded, knowing his body would be next to endure Kakashi’s assault.
Bang!
As the two kunai shattered, despair filled the Anbu member’s eyes. He regretted provoking Kakashi, realizing too late how foolish it was.
“Stop!”
At the crucial moment, ‘Ryuu’ intervened, appearing in a flash beside Kakashi and the Anbu member. He grabbed Kakashi’s wrist, halting the Chidori inches from the Anbu member’s face.
Sizzle!
Kakashi had sensed ‘Ryuu’ approaching and had no intention of killing the Anbu member, allowing ‘Ryuu’ to grasp his wrist and extinguish the Chidori.
“Wolf! This is ‘Inu.’ He was just testing you; don’t take it to heart. They only wanted to assess their new comrade’s strength!”
‘Ryuu’ explained, identifying the Anbu member with the short brown hair as ‘Inu.’
The black-haired one must be ‘Hebi.’
“Hello, ‘Wolf.’ I’m ‘Hebi.’ I didn’t expect you to be so powerful, making ‘Inu’ suffer. Our squad’s strength has increased with your addition!”
‘Hebi’ appeared beside Kakashi, smiling lightly. His praise was genuine, recognizing Kakashi’s abilities.
“Welcome to the team, ‘Wolf’!”
‘Inu,’ having recovered, thanked ‘Ryuu’ before addressing Kakashi.
“I just joined the Anbu. I look forward to working with you.”
Kakashi smiled politely, not holding a grudge against ‘Inu.’ They were now comrades, after all.
“Alright, since everyone is acquainted, let’s get going. The mission is urgent!”
Seeing ‘Hebi’ and ‘Inu’ accept Kakashi, ‘Ryuu’ wasn’t surprised, knowing Kakashi’s capabilities. He urged them to continue, reminding them of their mission.
“Yes, Captain!”
Kakashi and the others responded in unison.
Swish, swish, swish!
The four swiftly headed towards Iwa Village.
They introduced themselves in detail on the way, describing their abilities to enhance team cooperation during missions.
Kakashi learned that ‘Ryuu’ was skilled in ninjutsu, taijutsu, and ninjutsu, making him a well-rounded ninja and a fitting leader for the Anbu squad.
‘Inu’ was a taijutsu specialist with immense strength, the team’s primary attacker.
‘Hebi’ specialized in fire jutsu, proving a formidable ninja.
Kakashi briefly introduced his abilities, mentioning his swordsmanship and lightning jutsu proficiency. He didn’t reveal his Sharingan, saving it for when necessary. The others likely had their hidden skills, too.
‘Ryuu’ then explained their mission: to escort Iwa ninjas coming to sign a peace treaty with Konoha. Hokage feared the Iwa ninjas might be attacked or face other dangers on the way, so they were tasked with ensuring their safety. The Iwa ninjas were already en route and would reach Konoha in two days, so they needed to hurry.
“Shenran-sama, we should reach Konoha in more than a day, right?”
“How strong is Konoha, defeating both Suna and our Iwa?”
On their way to Konoha, three figures with Iwa forehead protectors moved swiftly. The Iwa ninjas were headed to sign the peace treaty, led by a Jonin and two Chunin.
“Hmph, this time, Konoha was despicable, cutting off our supply lines, leading to our defeat. Next time, Iwa will surely defeat Konoha!”
Sheeran Jonin grunted at his subordinate’s tone of respect for Konoha. The thought of their defeat filled him with resentment, especially as he had to go to Konoha to sign the treaty.
Swish, swish, swish!
As they passed, three ninjas without forehead protectors appeared.
“Confirm the target! Prepare to act immediately!”
“We, Suna, had to sign a peace treaty with Konoha after our defeat. This time, we must disrupt the peace talks between Iwa and Konoha, forcing them to continue fighting, giving us a chance to rebuild and seek revenge on Konoha when we are strong enough!”
