Naruto: Konoha Silver Wolf - Chapter 40
Kakashi hadn’t expected the ninja attacking him from behind to be Shizune! Glancing into the distance, he saw Tsunade’s unmistakable figure. That impressive silhouette was too eye-catching! A surge of joy filled his heart. After a long search, he had finally found Tsunade effortlessly.
“How could you, a Konoha ninja, cheat in a casino?”
Blocking Kakashi’s attack, Shizune pushed back but still managed to scold him. Her eyes were filled with disdain, and her impression of Kakashi was extremely negative.
Kakashi immediately realized the misunderstanding and quickly tried to explain, “Shizune-nee, it’s not what you think…”
“Who are you calling sister?!”
Shizune wasn’t surprised that Kakashi recognized her. She had left Konoha with Tsunade three years ago, and her appearance hadn’t changed much since then. It was usual for a Konoha ninja to recognize her. However, Shizune had a terrible impression of Kakashi and wouldn’t accept his attempts to appease her.
With a hiss, Shizune attacked Kakashi again!
Seeing this, Dazou, the bald youth behind Kakashi, also attacked him, feeling delighted that a ninja was helping him teach Kakashi a lesson.
“Ha ha, kid, you’re out of luck now!”
Laughing, Dazou swung his peculiar short blade at Kakashi’s back.
“Shizune-nee, you really misunderstood…”
Kakashi, fighting both Shizune and Dazou, continued to explain. He didn’t want Tsunade to misunderstand him, or he could forget about getting help for his left Sharingan.
But Shizune ignored his explanations, thinking he was trying to wriggle out of trouble. This made her more determined to teach him a lesson. She was also frustrated that Kakashi, younger than her, was more robust. Her attacks grew fiercer.
Kakashi, trying not to hurt Shizune, kept dodging her attacks while focusing on subduing Dazou. Every time he tried to injure Dazou seriously, Shizune would interfere, much to Kakashi’s frustration.
Watching the fight, Tsunade’s interest in Kakashi grew. She hadn’t expected a young Konoha ninja to have the strength of a Jonin, surpassing Shizune.
“That’s… the White Fang’s son, Hatake Kakashi…”
Tsunade’s eyes widened slightly as she recognized Kakashi. No wonder he looked familiar; he was Hatake Kakashi!
“Who would have thought this kid reached Jonin level in three years!”
Tsunade was slightly surprised but not overly so. Kakashi had become a Chunin at six years old. Six years later, it was natural for him to be at Jonin level.
“Shizune, stop fighting! That’s Kakashi!”
Tsunade called out to Shizune, realizing it was a misunderstanding. In her memory, Kakashi wasn’t someone who would cheat in a casino.
“What? He’s Kakashi?”
Shizune, hearing Tsunade, paused and looked closely at Kakashi. He recognized his silver hair and mask, matching the legend of the genius Kakashi. Only the covered eye was different from the stories. Shizune had never seen Kakashi before leaving Konoha.
“Not good!”
Seeing that Shizune knew Kakashi, Dazou felt a bad premonition and turned to leave. He wasn’t a match for Kakashi alone, let alone with Shizune.
“Beast Lightning Slash!”
As Dazou fled, Kakashi didn’t hold back. He executed a Lightning Slash.
With a thud, Dazou was hit, blood spraying from his back as he collapsed, his body twitching and bleeding heavily.
“Shizune-nee! Lady Tsunade!”
After dealing with Dazou, Kakashi turned to Shizune and Tsunade. To clear their misunderstanding, he quickly explained the situation to Kurosaki, saying he was only helping Kurosaki get justice.
Kakashi finished, and Kurosaki stepped forward to confirm his story.
Seeing this, Tsunade and Shizune’s hostile gazes softened. Shizune, realizing her mistake and recalling her attacks and accusations, felt deeply embarrassed, her face turning red.
Kakashi’s negative image crumbled in her mind and was replaced by a tall, handsome figure.
“Lady Tsunade, I was sent by the Third Hokage to find you.”
Kakashi then explained his mission to Tsunade, prioritizing his task over his request for his left eye.
“The old man? What does he want from me?”
Hearing about the Third Hokage, Tsunade’s eyes reflected brief memories before she calmly asked Kakashi.
“The Third Hokage wishes for you to return and succeed the Will of Fire to become the Fifth Hokage.”
“The Hokage? Only a fool would take that job! You can go back; I won’t return to Konoha!”
Tsunade was initially stunned by Kakashi’s words, then sneered coldly, her voice filled with resentment. She clearly thought of her deceased brother and Dan Kato.
