Naruto: Konoha Silver Wolf - Chapter 52
“Hokage-sama, since Tsunade-sama is unwilling to return, let Jiraiya-sensei take up the position!”
Minato Namikaze spoke up, though he also harboured aspirations for the Hokage role. He deeply respected Jiraiya and hoped his teacher would assume the mantle of Hokage instead.
“Minato, you brat, don’t try to trap me!”
Jiraiya immediately jumped up, protesting loudly. “I enjoy my freedom too much to be tied down. We agreed that you would become the Fourth Hokage, Minato, so don’t try to push this on me!”
“Minato, don’t decline. In terms of prestige within the village, you are equal to Jiraiya. Moreover, you are an idol among the younger generation. I’m too old; someone young and capable like you should lead the village.”
The Third Hokage looked helplessly at Jiraiya, then smiled at Minato.
Hearing this, Danzo couldn’t help but twitch his lips. He was just as old as the Third Hokage! What was even more frustrating was losing to a newcomer like Minato Namikaze!
“Yes, Minato, don’t refuse!”
“It’s already been decided. If Tsunade doesn’t return to inherit the Hokage position, then you will take it up!”
Koharu and Homura also urged Minato.
“That’s right! For the strength of the village, you can’t decline, Minato!”
Danzo had no choice but to speak up, albeit sincerely. He knew that Minato assuming the role of Fourth Hokage would boost Konoha’s prestige more than if he were to take the position himself. Such is the advantage of youth!
Faced with the encouragement of his elders, Minato no longer dared to refuse and excitedly accepted.
The next day, the news of Minato Namikaze’s appointment as the Fourth Hokage to take place the following Monday spread throughout the village. All the villagers were thrilled. Aside from a few dissenting ninjas, everyone wholeheartedly supported Minato’s appointment.
Meanwhile, Kakashi was walking through the streets of Konoha with Rin. Today was their first date.
“Kakashi, sensei is going to be the Fourth Hokage!”
Rin, who had dressed up meticulously, listened to the villagers’ discussions and excitedly told Kakashi. It was hard to know if she was more excited about Minato becoming Hokage or her first date with Kakashi.
Today, Rin looked even more beautiful than usual, appearing very cute. Her slightly tight-fitting top accentuated her not-so-small chest, which caught Kakashi’s attention repeatedly. Inwardly, he marvelled at Rin’s ample bosom, wondering if she would eventually rival Tsunade.
Kakashi couldn’t help but think of Tsunade’s magnificent chest whenever he saw a woman’s chest. Tsunade’s alluring figure vividly appeared in his mind.
“Yes, sensei is finally becoming Hokage!”
Kakashi smiled and nodded. Then he mysteriously said to Rin, “Let’s not talk about sensei today. After we eat, I’ll take you somewhere special.”
“Oh! Alright!”
Rin was slightly surprised, then shyly nodded, understanding that Kakashi wanted to focus on their date today. This was precisely what she wanted.
“Look! Isn’t that the son of the White Fang of Konoha?”
“As expected of the son of the White Fang and Minato Namikaze’s disciple, becoming a Jonin at 12!”
“Yes! He’s amazing!”
“……”
As they continued walking, Kakashi noticed the villagers’ curious and admiring glances and whispers. This attention was due to the news of Kakashi’s promotion to Jonin being made public.
“Kakashi, everyone knows you became a Jonin!”
Rin smiled at Kakashi with admiration.
“You’re not far behind, Rin. You’ll be a Jonin soon, too!”
Kakashi smiled wryly. He didn’t particularly enjoy being the centre of attention but understood the villagers’ amazement was normal. After all, he was a prodigious talent.
“Really?”
Rin asked softly, looking at Kakashi with hopeful eyes. She didn’t have much confidence in herself.
“Yes!”
Kakashi nodded. He never doubted Rin’s potential. Being chosen as Minato Namikaze’s disciple meant none lacked potential. Kakashi’s talent was undeniable, and Obito Uchiha had awakened the Sharingan with two tomoe simultaneously, showcasing his innate talent. Rin wouldn’t fall behind, either.
“Thank you, Kakashi!”
Rin responded with a sweet smile, feeling incredibly happy. She silently resolved to work hard and become a Jonin for Kakashi’s sake.
Kakashi felt speechless, not knowing what to say. What did this have to do with him being good? He could only think that girls in love were blind.
“Rin! Is that you and Kakashi?”
While Kakashi and Rin were chatting and laughing, a sweet voice suddenly called out behind them. Kakashi and Rin quickly turned to see who it was.
“Kurenai! It’s you!”
