“Die!”

Kakashi’s cold voice echoed in everyone’s ears as he faced the enemy leader who was leaping back.

Swish!

Kakashi’s figure turned into a lightning bolt, shooting towards the enemy leader in the air.

“No…”

Seeing the intense lightning coming at him, the terrified enemy leader could only scream in panic. Before he could finish, he was left speechless, staring blankly at his chest where Kakashi’s lightning-imbued right hand had pierced through.

“How… how can this be…”

The enemy leader muttered in disbelief as he felt his strength fading away.

“If there’s a next life, remember to be born in the Leaf Village!”

“Because any non-Leaf ninja who encounters me only has one fate—death!”

Kakashi chuckled coldly, pulling his hand out and delivering a powerful kick that sent the enemy leader crashing to the ground, creating a human-shaped crater. Kakashi then landed on the enemy’s back.

“So cool…”

“So awesome…”

Watching Kakashi easily dispatch all the enemies with his overbearing and cold demeanour, Shishin and Sanniang felt utterly captivated. They were determined to become just as strong.

Kurenai, observing Kakashi, also had a sparkle in her eyes, now even more certain that this ANBU was indeed Kakashi. His voice and mannerisms were unmistakable.

Glancing at her two new teammates, who were awestruck, Kurenai felt proud of knowing Kakashi’s identity. She felt immensely proud of knowing who Kakashi was.

“Thank you for saving us!”

Kurenai finally remembered to thank Kakashi and quickly expressed her gratitude.

“Yes!”

“Thank you, senior, for saving us!”

Shishin and Sanniang also came to their senses and respectfully thanked Kakashi.

“I was just carrying out my mission.”

Kakashi replied calmly, then continued, “There may still be other enemy ninjas lurking in the Forest of Death. You should be careful and stay here for at least half a day before leaving.”

As he spoke, Kakashi prepared to leave. He had finished clearing his assigned area, and Kurenai’s team should be safe now. He needed to report back. He believed that the other ANBU in the different regions had also cleared out the enemy ninjas.

“Wait…”

Kakashi had barely moved when Kurenai’s voice stopped him.

“Is there something else?”

Kakashi looked at Kurenai with slight surprise. He felt a sense of relief for saving her team in time, knowing that the butterfly effect had indeed occurred. Otherwise, Kurenai might have died in this Chunin exam. However, he was surprised that Kurenai dared to call out to an ANBU.

Shishin and Sanniang were also surprised, wondering why Kurenai stopped Kakashi.

“Thank you for saving us. Can you tell us your name?”

Gathering her courage, Kurenai boldly asked Kakashi. She knew Kakashi had joined the ANBU but didn’t know his codename. As someone who admired him, she wanted to know everything about him.

“Wolf.”

Kakashi didn’t expect this question and smiled wryly. Teenage girls’ thoughts were unpredictable. He replied briefly and, without waiting for more questions, disappeared.

Whoosh!

Within seconds, Kakashi’s figure vanished from their sight.

“Wolf…”

Kurenai murmured, remembering Kakashi’s ANBU codename.

“Hey, Kurenai, I admit that ANBU ‘Wolf’ was very strong, cool, and handsome. But haven’t you fallen for him without even seeing his face?”

Seeing Kurenai’s seemingly infatuated look, Shishin teased her. He was also excited to learn the codename of the ANBU who saved them.

“That’s not it! I just admire him!”

Kurenai’s face flushed slightly at Shishin’s words, and she quickly retorted.

“Not true, your face is red!”

Shishin laughed even more.

“Hmph!”

Kurenai snorted, ignoring Shishin. However, his joke had stirred something in her heart.

“Even if I like him, what’s the use? He’s already with Rin!”

Kurenai felt a pang of jealousy, knowing that Kakashi was with Rin. It had always bothered her a bit, and now she understood why. Shishin’s joke made her realise she might have feelings for Kakashi.

“What’s the use of liking him? He’s already with Rin.”

Shaking her head, Kurenai reminded herself and stopped overthinking it.

“I just admire him!”

She reaffirmed to Shishin and herself.
