Naruto: Konoha Silver Wolf - Chapter 66
“What should I do?”
Outside Den Village, Kakashi perched on a giant tree, his brow furrowed as he gazed at the village in the distance, deep in thought. His mission was to massacre everyone in Den Village, but charging in recklessly would certainly fail.
“The biggest problem is Den Village’s leader, Kaede, who has a Wind Release kekkei genkai. His speed is astonishing, making him difficult to handle alone. If the others join in, I’ll have no choice but to flee. But if Kaede catches me, even escaping will be a problem.”
“If it weren’t for him, I could sneak in, kill a few people, and retreat, repeating this dozens or even hundreds of times to clear out Den Village!”
Thinking about the village leader’s abilities only deepened Kakashi’s frown.
Kakashi sat on the tree for half an hour, unable to devise a better plan.
“Alright, let’s use the simplest yet most effective and troublesome method: lure out and eliminate as many as I can first.”
With no other option, Kakashi decided to pursue this plan.
“Shadow Clone Jutsu!”
Standing up, Kakashi formed hand seals and created a shadow clone. His strategy was simple: using the clone to infiltrate Den Village and kill, hoping to lure some villagers out. If the clone failed, there’d be no danger to himself.
Moreover, this plan would work if the three Jonin-level ninjas in Den Village didn’t intervene.
Whoosh!
Kakashi’s shadow clone swiftly darted towards Den Village. Before entering, he performed a Transformation Jutsu, disguising himself as an ordinary villager. Approaching as an ANBU member would immediately alert them to an enemy attack.
Kakashi had a few villager appearances memorised, so he transformed into a Chunin named Red Snake.
“Lord Red Snake, you’ve returned!”
A Genin on guard duty respectfully greeted Kakashi at the village gate. Being a small ninja village, having only a Genin on watch was normal. Only large ninja villages had Chunins as guards.
“Mm.”
Kakashi nodded at the Genin, and then a flash of his blade swiftly slit the guard’s throat.
“Ah…”
The Genin’s eyes widened as he tried to scream, but his voice was cut off, his throat severed, and blood spurted out. He couldn’t even call for help.
Thud!
The Genin’s body hit the ground, eyes filled with disbelief and confusion. Why had Lord Red Snake killed him? He couldn’t have imagined someone attacking Den Village. Despite their small size, they had three powerful Jonins, deterring even larger villages from provoking them.
“One down, twenty-three Genin left.”
Kakashi sheathed his sword, his eyes cold and ruthless. Muttering to himself, he dragged the body aside and concealed it. Then, he boldly entered Den Village.
Den Village, though small, housed over a hundred civilians. Seeing the adults and children, Kakashi’s eyes flickered with hesitation. Was he going to kill everyone?
“To survive in this world of ninja, you must become more ruthless.”
Kakashi steeled himself, the hesitation fading from his eyes.
“Lord Red Snake!”
“Lord Red Snake!”
The villagers greeted him respectfully, their eyes filled with awe. But seeing Kakashi’s cold gaze, they grew nervous and quickly stepped aside.
“I’ll start with the men.”
Kakashi stopped after walking a certain distance into the village. Slowly, he drew his sword from his back, causing the nearby villagers to panic. They saw the blood-stained blade and trembled.
“What’s wrong with Lord Red Snake…”
“He just killed someone…”
“Lord Red Snake looks terrifying…”
“We should leave quickly…”
The villagers whispered in fear, carefully backing away.
“Hmph!”
Seeing the villagers’ fear, Kakashi snorted and slashed at one of them.
Slash!
Blood sprayed as a villager’s head was severed, the body collapsing and blood gushing out.
“Ah…”
“He killed someone…”
“Run…”
The other villagers screamed in terror, scrambling to flee. They wished they had more legs to run faster, cursing their parents for not giving them better speed…
