Naruto: Konoha Silver Wolf - Chapter 68
“They’re following! Excellent!”
As Kakashi fled towards the outskirts of the village, he kept an eye on the pursuing Den ninjas. Seeing them taking the bait brought a slight smile to his face.
Kakashi retreated steadily while the three Den ninjas pursued him relentlessly. Soon, they were outside the village.
When the pursuing ninjas noticed the Genin guard absent at the village gate, they realised what had happened. Their anger towards Kakashi only intensified.
“That bastard! We’ll kill him!”
“Yes! Avenge Rudy and the others!”
The Den ninjas gritted their teeth, swearing vengeance.
After fleeing the village, Kakashi’s shadow clone was finally caught up to; his chakra reserves were low.
“Blade Draw: Lightning Slash!”
Not hesitating, Kakashi concentrated the remaining chakra into one final attack, slashing at one of the ninjas behind him. Though it was a basic sword technique, shadow clones couldn’t perform the true Hatake clan techniques.
“Watch out! Dodge!”
Clang!
Despite the surprise attack, the Den ninja blocked Kakashi’s strike but was sent flying. Although uninjured, the ninja had been forced to retreat by Kakashi’s blow.
Poof!
The Den ninjas were momentarily stunned as the clone dissipated into white smoke after the attack.
“A shadow clone! Everyone be careful!”
One of the ninjas shouted in alarm.
“Lightning Release: Chidori!”
In response, a thousand chirping birds filled the air, emanating from behind them—specifically behind the ninja who had just been thrown back.
“What…”
The retreating ninja turned in shock, his hair on end as he sensed a massive threat. Before he could react, a flash of intense lightning blinded his vision.
Thud!
Kakashi’s lightning-imbued right hand pierced through the ninja’s heart. The Den ninja’s eyes widened before life left his body.
“Shuya!”
“Shuya!”
The other two ninjas cried in anger and disbelief, watching their comrade fall to Kakashi.
“All of you have Chunin-level combat strength. Not bad. Killing all of you will leave Den Village with only eight Chunins.”
Ignoring their glares, Kakashi coldly assessed their strength and sneered. While speaking, he pulled his blood-soaked hand from the fallen ninja, splattering blood on his silver hair making him appear even more menacing.
“Damn, it’s a Leaf ANBU!”
“We have no grudge against the Leaf Village! Why are you killing our villagers and ninjas?”
One of the Den ninjas, recognising Kakashi’s ANBU attire, protested with fear and anger. Against a Chunin-level opponent, a Transformation Jutsu would be ineffective, so Kakashi stood before them in his ANBU gear.
“I don’t know. My mission is to exterminate everyone in Den Village.”
Kakashi responded with a cold smile, maintaining his ruthless demeanour.
“Haha, you think you can kill all of us by yourself? Our leader alone can deal with you!”
One ninja laughed angrily, mocking Kakashi’s ambition.
“Yeah, our leader will crush you!”
The other ninja agreed. Realising Kakashi’s strength, they decided to retreat and seek reinforcements.
“Whether I can or not isn’t your concern. But you two will die by my hand.”
Sensing their intent to flee, Kakashi smirked, knowing they revered their leader, Kaede. This mission’s difficulty remained as daunting as ever.
Slash!
Finishing his statement, Kakashi moved swiftly. The ninjas’ thoughts of escape were futile against his speed.
“Instant Cut: Second Stage!”
Targeting one of the ninjas, Kakashi’s blade sliced through the air with precision.
“Earth Release: Earth Mound Technique!”
In response, the ninja raised a small earth mound, similar to the Earth Flow Wall but less powerful, to block the attack.
Thud!
Although the technique was weaker, it successfully blocked Kakashi’s strike, buying the ninja time to leap back.
“Fierce Lightning Slash!”
However, a Chunin from a small village couldn’t match Kakashi’s prowess. The retreat only provided Kakashi another opportunity to attack.
Slash!
The blade flashed, and the ninja was cut down mid-air.
“Rongi!”
Seeing his comrade fall, the remaining ninja cried out in horror. Realising the danger, he tried to flee.
“Hmph!”
“You think you can escape?”
Kakashi’s cold laugh echoed as he swiftly caught up.
Slash!
The fleeing ninja met the same fate as his comrade, cut down by Kakashi’s blade. The three lured Chunins were all dead.
Suddenly, an unexpected gust of wind swept through the area.
