Boom!

Kaede saw a blinding flash of a lightning strike just centimetres before him. It hit his sword, and an overwhelming surge of electricity coursed through his body before he could react. The pain was indescribable, permeating every cell.

Under the relentless assault of the lightning, Kaede’s entire body turned charred black. His hair stood on end, and his mouth opened in a silent scream, unable to utter a sound. His eyes, filled with despair and unwillingness, locked onto Kakashi. He felt his strength drain away, his body going numb.

“Da… damn it…”

Kaede cursed silently in his mind, his consciousness fading until he knew nothing more.

The other Den ninjas fared even worse, losing consciousness instantly.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Bodies of the Den ninjas fell to the ground, still crackling with residual electricity. Their burnt corpses were a grim testament to the lightning strike’s power.

“I… I did it…”

Clutching his injured shoulder, Kakashi managed to sit up and looked around at the fallen Den ninjas. He muttered in disbelief, relief flooding his system.

Only now could Kakashi truly relax. His strategy had worked.

From the beginning, Kakashi never intended to use his ‘Electro Web Destruction’ again. If he had, the lightning from the sky would have struck him as well, likely killing him. And there was always the chance Kaede might dodge.

Instead, Kakashi had used the preliminary form of Chidori, gathering lightning in his right hand. When struck and sent flying, he fused the lightning into his shuriken, not dissipating it.

Kakashi planned to use the storm’s natural lightning. The lightning from his shuriken would attract the lightning from the sky, striking down Kaede and his men. The Den ninjas’ defences would betray them, ensuring they couldn’t avoid the fatal strikes. Even Kaede was not exempt; they all fell prey to the lightning.

‘Lightning Release: Heaven’s Call,’ this jutsu was technically a B-rank jutsu. By integrating the preliminary stage of Chidori into Shuriken, the real killer was nature’s lightning. It was a technique inspired by Sasuke’s Kirin from the original series. Kakashi couldn’t create thunderclouds but could utilise the storm’s natural conditions.

Many lightning ninjas could perform similar feats, but few dared to use their jutsu under such stormy conditions, fearing they might be struck themselves. Even most Uchiha with Sharingan wouldn’t dare, but Kakashi had the audacity and confidence to pull it off.

In truth, Kakashi had to rely on multiple factors: his ability to evade Kaede’s pursuit, his injuries tricking the enemy into underestimating him, his precise timing with the storm, and the assumption that the lightning would strike all the Den ninjas. A single mistake could have meant his end.

“Haha! The heavens still favor me!”

Ignoring the pain from his wounds, Kakashi laughed, struggling to his feet. He then methodically ensured the Den ninjas were dead, delivering a final blow to each.

He lacked the strength to take their heads as trophies, a typical ANBU practice. Satisfied they were truly dead, he left the scene.

Whoosh!

After Kakashi had been gone for a while, a figure appeared on the battlefield, staring in shock at the bodies. It was the Leaf ANBU who had been following Kakashi.

“They’re dead… all of them…”

His voice trembled under the mask, astonished at the carnage. He couldn’t believe Kakashi had managed to kill them all.

The ANBU was equally impressed by Kakashi’s cunning. It wasn’t mere luck. Kakashi had maintained a cool head, executing a calculated strategy perfectly.

“Breathtaking audacity and intelligence,” the ANBU muttered. “No wonder Lord Danzo values this ‘Wolf’ so highly. If his strength continues to grow, he’ll be a formidable threat to Danzo’s aspirations for Hokage.”

“Such a pity…”

The ANBU whispered, deciding to complete Kakashi’s unfinished task. He decapitated the bodies, taking their heads as proof.

“What’s going on? Where is everyone? Where’s the chief?”

A Den ninja returned to the village, finding it deserted. Panic set in as he ran around asking for answers.

The response was grim: an enemy attack had killed many villagers, and the rest had left the village to confront the threat. No one knew what happened next.

Over the next two days, more Den ninjas returned from missions, only to find their comrades missing. They searched desperately for any clues but found nothing. The rain had washed away any tracks.

Finally, even Ho, one of the village’s Jonin, returned. That afternoon, Shan, the elite Chunin sent to seek aid from the Hidden Cloud Village, arrived.

“Shan! You were here that day. What happened?” He demanded.

“Where is everyone? Where’s the chief?”

“All gone…” Shan’s voice trembled. “The chief and everyone else… they’re all missing…”
