Naruto Shadow Mage - Chapter 51
“Wait a minute!”
“Something seems off!”
As everyone knows, testing one’s chakra nature with chakra paper is straightforward. All it requires is some chakra control to channel chakra into the paper and observe the resulting changes, which reveal the individual’s chakra nature.
The results are simple: burning means fire nature, tearing means wind nature, wrinkling means lightning nature, getting wet means water nature, and crumbling means earth nature.
If a person possesses multiple chakra natures, the paper can exhibit several changes. For instance, in the original series, Nagato had all five natures. His paper would split down the middle, burn in the top left, get wet in the bottom left, wrinkle in the top right, and crumble in the bottom right.
Even though Koshino was a transmigrator with the help of an app for accelerated training, he had never imagined possessing all five chakra natures. Frankly, having five nature transformations seemed inhuman. To keep things normal, Koshino felt that having one of fire, wind, or lightning nature would be more than enough.
However, when Koshino opened his eyes and observed the changes in the chakra paper, he was initially ecstatic.
When Koshino first opened his eyes, he saw that the chakra paper had split—a sign of wind nature. Delighted, Koshino thought having wind nature chakra would provide a solid basis for future training. But what he hadn’t anticipated was that even a simple chakra nature test could yield such unusual results!
Typically, wind nature chakra splits the paper into two pieces. In Koshino’s case, the paper split neatly in two places, resulting in three pieces!
“What’s going on?”
“Other people’s tests don’t seem to have such strange outcomes, right?”
“Could it be that most people have regular wind nature, and mine is some kind of super wind?”
“Seriously? Wind nature is wind nature, what’s this super wind business?”
After a few helpless complaints, Koshino threw aside the chakra paper and took a deep breath, deciding not to sweat the small details.
Next, Koshino planned to use the Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu to start training his wind nature chakra transformation.
Having already mastered the Rasengan and some of its advanced forms, Koshino felt his overall strength was comfortably at the chunin level. Especially after sparring with Kakashi, experiencing life-threatening moments, and developing a peculiar sense that seemed like a mental breakthrough, Koshino felt that mastering chakra nature transformation could potentially elevate his strength to jonin level. Therefore, the first stage of wind nature chakra transformation began as soon as Koshino finished his nature test.
The first stage of wind nature chakra transformation isn’t particularly hard but isn’t exactly simple either—it involves cutting leaves with chakra.
After restoring his chakra, Koshino created as many shadow clones as possible and began gathering leaves in the courtyard. Then he started the first stage of his wind nature chakra transformation training.
With his clones assigned to training, Koshino realized that further advancement in taijutsu was temporarily impossible, and training in the Nara clan’s shadow techniques required waiting for new secret techniques to be developed. So, he decided to check out Minato’s secret scrolls.
Opening the scrolls, Koshino was astonished by what he found. The scrolls contained numerous practical tips and techniques related to wind nature chakra.
“Luckily, my chakra nature is wind. Otherwise, learning from the Fourth Hokage would be a waste!”
“Besides modified basic techniques, the scrolls primarily discuss wind chakra applications.”
“Fourth Hokage, are you a specialist in wind techniques or what?”
“Well, since my chakra nature is the same as yours, your secrets are mine to learn!”
“Once I master all your techniques, the title of Konoha’s Yellow Flash might just become mine!”
“Too bad I can’t use the app for accelerated learning on these techniques!”
After expressing his appreciation for the useful scrolls and a bit of frustration at not being able to accelerate his learning, Koshino felt he was still getting a great deal by following Minato’s teachings. Pushing through his fatigue, he managed to learn a few minor wind techniques from Minato’s scrolls before going to bed early, knowing he had a mission the next day.
When Koshino woke the next morning, his shadow clones dispelled one by one, leaving him feeling quite exhausted. Thankfully, the Nara clan had many medicinal herbs. Using his knowledge of herbal medicine, Koshino prepared a hearty breakfast to recover from his training fatigue.
After preparing himself, donning his ANBU attire, and heading to the rendezvous point early to avoid being late, Koshino was surprised and annoyed when Kakashi was over two hours late.
“If that guy Kakashi uses the excuse of helping an old lady or seeing a black cat… hmph!”
“I’ll definitely give him a piece of my mind for being late!”
After inwardly cursing, Koshino had no choice but to wait since Kakashi was the captain. Finally, when he couldn’t wait any longer, Kakashi appeared in Koshino’s sensory range.
Sensing Kakashi’s presence, Koshino instinctively swung a punch at Kakashi’s head. Normally, Kakashi would easily dodge even a surprise attack, but today, he didn’t react, and Koshino’s punch knocked him down.
Noticing something was wrong when Kakashi stood up with lifeless eyes, Koshino had an ominous feeling as Kakashi spoke words Koshino had been dreading.
“Koshino, there’s no mission today. Go back and train.”
“Um…”
“I have other matters to attend to, so that’s all for now.”
