Naruto System in Jujutsu Kaisen - Chapter 3
##
“Jujutsu High, also known as Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical School, is one of only two jujutsu educational institutions in all of Japan. On the surface, it appears to be a private religious school. Many jujutsu sorcerers are active here even after graduation, not only for education but also for missions and assistance. It’s a pivotal place in the world of jujutsu.”
Listening to Gojo Satoru’s introduction, Natsubi Raku looked around at the tree-dense Jujutsu High, breathing in the dust-free air and feeling a sense of mental and physical refreshment.
As for Zenin Maki, who had led the way, she had already left, with Gojo Satoru now taking over the introduction.
“In short, you’ll first need to have an interview with the principal. There’s a chance you might be rejected, so give it your all!”
“What!?” Natsubi Raku looked at the tall Gojo Satoru in shock and asked, “There’s still a test? I can’t control the cursed energy in my body right now. What if I get expelled?”
Gojo Satoru: “It’s not a cursed energy test. As long as your personality isn’t particularly twisted, there shouldn’t be any problems.”
“Personality twisted…? Why does it feel like there’s a hidden message in your words…”
Gojo Satoru: “Oh, nothing. It’s just that I can sense something different about you. I’ve read your file. Natsubi Raku, 15 years old, often skips classes, average grades, highly dependent on parents, with no precedent of jujutsu sorcerers in the family.”
Natsubi Raku: “And what does that prove?”
Gojo Satoru: “Nothing much. Initially, I thought you might shut yourself away for a few weeks or even months to come to terms with reality. But I didn’t expect you to call me so soon.”
“…”
After a moment of silence, Natsubi Raku said, “Maybe… my personality is indeed twisted. But that doesn’t prove anything. I’m no longer who I used to be.”
“Quite a resolution.”
Gojo Satoru lowered his head and stared intently into the boy’s eyes, finding no jest in his words. Then, he pushed open a black wooden door and led him into a spacious room.
The room was spotless, with a rough-looking man with spiky black hair and sunglasses sewing a doll.
Without looking up, the man said while sewing, “Is this the student you picked, Gojo?”
“Yes, I met him while having a late-night snack. I initially thought he would come a month later, but he called me today. I think he’s a very promising student.”
Gojo Satoru smiled broadly, seemingly very satisfied with Natsubi Raku.
“Hello, my name is Natsubi Raku, here to learn jujutsu.”
Natsubi Raku bowed at a 45-degree angle, speaking without any concealment.
“Hmm.”
The man looked at the perfect doll in his hand, then cut the thread and looked up at Natsubi Raku, asking, “After learning about curses and how to exorcise them, what do you plan to do?”
“Of course, I plan to exorcise curses, then maybe study medicine or open a restaurant. After witnessing curses, I realized how dangerous the world is. If I don’t learn how to exorcise curses, I’ll just be waiting to die, or watching my loved ones die in front of me. That’s very painful for me.”
“Hmm, a valid reason,” the man stood up, shaking his right hand that had just held the needle, and asked, “Now, let’s test your determination. The simplest way is to face near-death. Are you ready!?”
“Hey! Wait, isn’t this supposed to be a non-combat test?”
Natsubi Raku quickly waved his hands and retreated, glancing at Gojo Satoru with a look that seemed to say:
Help me out here, I’m not good at fighting.
Gojo Satoru irresponsibly stuck out his tongue and took two steps back, saying with a smile, “It’s not a cursed energy test, just testing your determination. At most, it will hurt for two days. It’s nothing serious.”
Hurt for two days…
“Nothing serious, my ass! You’re not the one getting hit, are you?”
Just as Natsubi Raku finished complaining, a doll suddenly appeared in front of his face. If you looked closely, it was the same one the principal had just sewn! The seemingly soft punch from the doll struck his chest with the weight of an adult man’s blow.
So fast!
As Natsubi Raku was knocked back, his mind replayed the agile movements of the doll and the heavy punch. He quickly got up after rolling twice, finding no doll in front of him and scanning the surroundings, his heart pounding.
That punch just now really hurt. Luckily, this body had been trained and could barely take it. If it were his previous body, it might have been shattered.
The rapidly beating heart felt like a drum of battle, instantly tensing his previously relaxed state, with bulging veins on his arms showing he wouldn’t just sit back and get hit.
A green doll resembling a kappa didn’t rush to attack but waved its fists and walked with an arrogant stride, seeming to taunt and show off.
“…”
Natsubi Raku looked at the doll with a dark expression, veins bulging on his forehead from anger. If he didn’t beat this thing up, he wouldn’t consider himself human.
Damn it, getting taunted by a doll.
Though furious, he didn’t act, instead setting up a defensive stance, waiting for the doll’s attack.
The principal asked, “If you and your companions face a life-and-death crisis, would you protect them at all costs or abandon them to save yourself?”
“Huh!?”
As Natsubi Raku got distracted, the doll instantly disappeared and punched his shoulder. The sudden pain contorted his face.
Cursing the doll’s shamelessness for distracting him, the principal continued, “If you and your companions face a life-and-death crisis, would you choose to protect them or abandon them to save yourself?”
With arms protecting his head, body curled up, and the doll punching him repeatedly, Natsubi Raku’s attention was not on the principal’s question but entirely on how to destroy the doll.
For some reason, driven by this hatred, the cursed energy in his body started gathering in his eyes, and the world began to slow down.
The previously agile and elusive doll’s movements were now completely engraved in his mind, allowing him to predict its next move.
It felt like extending a fleeting second into five seconds. To others, it was a brief second, but to him, it provided ample thinking space.
Very intriguing.
As the doll’s attack trajectory was anticipated, Natsubi Raku easily dodged its assault, grabbed its head with his left hand, and smashed it to the ground with force.
The anger pent up for so long exploded in an instant, and he punched its body with his right hand repeatedly.
“Boom! Boom! Boom!”
The dull thuds echoed in the hall.
Gojo Satoru, seeing Natsubi Raku’s crimson pupils, smiled with satisfaction.
The principal also noticed Natsubi Raku’s unusual state and continued, “If you and your companions face a life-and-death crisis, would you choose to protect them or abandon them to save yourself?”
“You talk too much! If we’re all going to die, why not take one of them down with us?”
Natsubi Raku, holding a thread in his hand, had disassembled the doll, revealing the white cotton inside.
“Very good!”
The principal smiled and said, “You’re qualified. Welcome to Jujutsu High.”
