Naruto: The Fall of the Uchiha - Chapter 12
“Shisui, what exactly are you trying to do!”
Uchiha Fugaku couldn’t understand. It was a simple competition event, yet it had put the entire village on edge.
This event wasn’t shady, but Shisui had ordered the clan to cut off all communication with the village, completely sealing any information.
But sealing off information is one thing: why did he beat up the Root members stationed outside the district for surveillance?
Isn’t this just causing unnecessary chaos?
These Root members were highly skilled in surveillance but were up against the Uchiha, the most powerful clan with the Sharingan.
Remembering the mysterious Sharingan on the Nine-Tails, the guilty Uchiha Fugaku had to feign ignorance and ‘voluntarily’ accept the ‘village’s’ surveillance.
But Shisui, under the banner of the police force, had brought back medical ninjas to the Uchiha district and beaten those so-called ‘Anbu’ ninjas half to death.
Yes! He had practically rounded up two-thirds of the medical ninjas from Konoha Hospital!
When Fugaku learned of this, he realized a strange fact.
The police force, which made the Uchiha unpopular among villagers, held surprisingly great power in the village.
Maintaining internal security and stability of Konoha, drafting village laws, arresting potential criminals, both ninja and civilian (excluding the Hokage’s Anbu), and organizing ninja for the village’s police duties…
All this information was documented in a decree signed by the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, and preserved in both the police force archives and the Hokage’s office.
Ninjas generally didn’t care for such documents, and the politically naïve Uchiha even less so. For over twenty years, no one had looked at these documents.
Thanks to the well-preserved archive protected by sealing techniques, these documents were still in perfect condition, as if Tobirama Senju’s mark was brand new.
When Fugaku received this handwritten document from Shisui, he suddenly realized the astonishing authority of the police force responsible for Konoha’s internal security and stability.
Drafting laws! Arresting criminals! Summoning ninjas!
The Uchiha police force had inherent rights to direct Konoha’s villagers and ninjas for ‘police’ work without notifying the Hokage, except for the Anbu members.
For instance, even without Shisui providing the million Ryo for the medical ninja summons, Hiruzen Sarutobi couldn’t reprimand the Uchiha clan under the Hokage’s name.
Unless!
Hiruzen Sarutobi wanted to go against his late teacher’s will!
Against the will of the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, who sacrificed his life for Hiruzen to become the Third Hokage!
If that happened…
Shisui would probably laugh out loud!
Initially, Fugaku needed clarification on this information, only realizing its significance once Shisui explained it.
Hmm…
Fugaku gave up trying to understand. The police force had immense power, and even if Hiruzen Sarutobi rebuked the police force, it could be easily countered.
But was it necessary to cause such a commotion?
The Uchiha already had a strained relationship with the village. Why stir up trouble over something trivial?
Fugaku couldn’t understand Shisui’s motive. He would have stated that he would avoid misunderstandings if it were him. However, Shisui deliberately instigated conflict with the root members outside the district.
“Will the village and the Uchiha end up fighting?”
Shisui didn’t bother explaining, leaving behind a teasing question before walking away gracefully.
“Fugaku, you’re too timid!”
Uchiha Itachi seemed satisfied with the situation, especially with Shisui’s actions against the Root members, something he had wanted to do but was stopped by Fugaku.
Shisui’s actions resonated with Itachi’s desires as long as those guys weren’t killed.
He, the Uchiha elder, had no fear!
Itachi’s expression was filled with excitement, his wrinkled face glowing, looking at Fugaku with a sense of superiority.
“Itachi, I am the clan leader!”
Fugaku snorted, unable to counter but needing no reason as the clan leader.
“Do I need one?”
Itachi’s expression faltered, a hint of hesitation crossing his face, but he quickly regained his stern demeanor and snorted!
“What a fool!”
Watching the childish interaction between the clan leader and elder, Shisui sighed, wondering what curse had befallen the Uchiha to produce such ‘talent.’
To Shisui, there were two types of Uchiha!
The severe Uchiha is intense, extreme, impulsive, and only recognizes true strength.
The mutated Uchiha are talented, intelligent, and cautious but foolishly clinging to their ideals.
Clearly!
Shisui, Itachi, Obito, Fugaku, and Itachi belonged to the latter. Political idiots who didn’t understand, while Shisui preferred the straightforward, serious Uchiha!
Although these serious Uchiha weren’t politically savvy and not exceptionally talented in ninja bloodlines, they still had natural advantages over other ninjas.
They could become elite Jonin, possibly even Kage level, with proper training.
Why did he cause such a scene these days?
Hmph!
It’s not that Shisui looked down on the ‘political drama’ in the Hokage’s office. They wouldn’t act against the Uchiha in such times.
At most, he made them nervous and sweat and occasionally performed the classic ‘I shadow, you regret’ scenes.
Shisui would consider giving them a big gift when they felt it was a false alarm.
For now, Shisui’s main focus was to strengthen himself and the Uchiha clan, who could ultimately bring him more power.
“All of you!”
With a loud whistle, the Uchiha clan members who had just finished sparring and observing the matches turned their attention to the large plaque in front.
There!
Like a descending deity, a handsome young man exuded an aura of unrivaled power under the scorching sun.
Shisui wasted no time, pulling down three red cloths, revealing the words that ignited the Uchiha’s blood.
The World’s Strongest Shinobi!
