Naruto: The Fall of the Uchiha - Chapter 18
Non-seal Jutsu, Rasengan!
Although it lacks the grandeur of Uchiha’s signature Fire Release jutsu, Rasengan’s non-seal nature allows for quicker execution. Combined with Uchiha’s powerful Sharingan, it can serve as a decisive counterattack on the battlefield.
Moreover, the non-elemental jutsu Rasengan is like a blank canvas. It can be infused with different chakra natures to create various effects. For instance, Uchiha Chiya’s mastery of Fire Release chakra transformation enhances Rasengan’s power and explosiveness.
On the other hand, Chidori, while requiring hand seals, is a variant that originated from Rasengan. Despite its fixed Lightning nature, it doesn’t lack power or potential for further development.
Furthermore, Chidori requires only three seals—Bird, Hare, and Monkey—meaning that with enough proficiency, the sealing steps can be omitted at a slight loss of power.
Another non-seal jutsu!
For other ninja clans, this might just be another difficult A-rank jutsu. But for the Uchiha with their Sharingan…
The Uchiha, who can now quickly grind experience, their natural chakra reserves surpassing ordinary ninjas, and their innate observational abilities are two super weapons ideally suited to their bloodline.
In specific scenarios, even some Uchiha Chunin could threaten a qualified Jonin.
And imagining a thousand Uchiha ninjas simultaneously performing Rasengan and Chidori, even Shisui Uchiha, capable of activating Susanoo, couldn’t help but break out in a cold sweat.
This means…
“This is bad!”
Shisui abruptly raised his head, looking towards the dais, and felt a tremor of uncontrollable dread.
There!
Fugaku Uchiha, who had been composed, now wore an expression of hunger similar to the Uchiha elder beside him.
“Shisui, you’ve done it!”
Realizing this, an indescribable sense of helplessness overwhelmed Shisui, causing him to yell out his thoughts.
“What?”
Shisui initially thought he had misheard, but seeing Shisui’s complex expression, a playful smile tugged at his lips.
“If he’s our clan leader, he naturally has to think about the future of the clan.”
“How did you get the training methods for Rasengan and Chidori?”
Realizing his slip, Shisui couldn’t suppress his curiosity and asked.
“The training method for Rasengan isn’t a secret. With a little research, you can deduce it easily.”
Should I tell him what Kishimoto told me?
“As for Chidori…”
Shisui gazed north of the clan district, reminiscing about something amusing.
“Hatake Kakashi is an Anbu member, but Anbu can’t reveal their identity in normal times. As the police force, we can easily find trouble with him.”
I see. Shisui nodded, understanding what happened next without further explanation.
The Copy Ninja was copied…
How ironic!
Shisui was also pleased with this. The police force’s authority was instrumental, allowing him to act almost unrestrained in Konoha as long as he didn’t clash directly with Hiruzen Sarutobi.
“Can’t the village and the clan coexist peacefully?”
Though he knew discussing peace with Shisui was futile, a desperate Shisui couldn’t help but plead.
“Sure!”
To Shisui’s surprise, Shisui answered affirmatively, prompting him to ask further.
“Really?”
“Of course, as long as the village’s leadership stops oppressing and harassing us, giving the Uchiha fair treatment, do you think we would need an armed rebellion?”
“The Hokage also… it’s all Danzo’s fault…”
Shisui weakly opened his mouth, wanting to defend the Third Hokage but finding himself at a loss for words.
Having served in the Anbu for so long and worked to resolve the clan’s conflicts with the village, Shisui knew deep down that ignorance was mere self-deception.
“I know it’s all Danzo’s fault and has nothing to do with our great Third Hokage. The Nine-Tails incident left lingering effects.”
Shisui didn’t mind adding fuel to the fire. Planting seeds of doubt would soon yield surprising results!
“But the fact is that we had nothing to do with that incident. The clan members won’t sympathize with the Hokage’s efforts for peace; we only felt the village’s endless malice!”
“Since we are already seen as enemies, are you foolish enough to surrender willingly?”
“Or do you think the Uchiha have done something unforgivable to deserve the village’s hatred, to the point where even children spit at us?”
Shisui fell silent.
Have the Uchiha committed heinous crimes?
Of course not. Arrogant, self-important, and proud to the bone, the Uchiha disdain illegal activities.
Yet they bear the village’s scorn. Rebellion is inevitable, only a matter of time.
Despite knowing this, Shisui still clung to the hope of a peaceful resolution.
But recent events indicated the situation was rapidly spiraling towards his worst fears.
So!
It’s all Danzo’s fault!
“Shisui, I hope you enjoy the gift I have for you!”
Shisui smirked, placing a hand on Shisui’s shoulder with a meaningful look.
“What?”
Still troubled by Danzo’s position, Shisui was confused, looking at Shisui for an answer.
But instead of a reply, a voice from the stage interrupted.
“The winner is Hayama Uchiha! The loser must leave the stage! Winner, proceed to the resting area!”
“Next match, Jonin division, Uchiha Munakata vs. Uchiha Shisui, on stage!”
Boom!
With a burst of flames, Uchiha Munakata appeared, provocatively activating his Sharingan towards Shisui.
“I… I didn’t register!”
Shisui was bewildered, not understanding how he was called to the stage without registering.
But in the next moment…
Bang!
With a swift kick to his backside, Shisui found himself airborne, his furious gaze confirming who orchestrated this.
Shisui, you…!
