- Chapter 23 - Shisui, You Don’t Want The Hokage To Know…
Forget it.
Let’s leave it at that!
Reflecting on the seeds sown not long ago and the recent hint of kindness Shisui discarded, Uchiha Jin eagerly awaited the events.
Shisui had to die, but for the last bit of time, he should be squeezed for every ounce of value!
Hopefully, the darkness of the ninja world would appreciate this grand gift and witness the true power of the Uchiha clan!
Uchiha Jin wore a warm smile like the Uchiha clan members around him. He was happy that the clan now had another pair of Mangekyo Sharingan. Yet, with a spirit full of murderous intent, he once again invaded Shisui’s mind through their connected gaze.
“With someone like Danzo around, peace between the clan and the village is impossible. This time you got lucky, but next time might be different!”
Although Jin hadn’t successfully awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan, his ocular power had transformed once again after he had merged multiple Sharingan.
During this process, Jin’s genjutsu mastery finally broke through the LV6 barrier, and his Fire Style and Uchiha Swordsmanship skills also advanced to LV6 after absorbing the ‘Flame Demon’s’ legacy.
At this moment, Uchiha Jin had crossed the threshold to Kage-level in ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu.
Even when facing Uchiha Fugaku and Uchiha Setsuna together again, he was confident in defeating them without relying on sneaky tricks or surprise attacks.
But Kage-level is one thing. Mangekyo Sharingan is another!
Though this power was insufficient to confront Kotoamatsukami head-on, Jin believed his enhanced spiritual and ocular power now gave him a fighting chance.
And this…
Was enough!
If Shisui recklessly tried to kill him, Jin could easily hide within the ranks of the strong Uchiha army behind him.
The Mangekyo’s strength might be formidable, but a horde of ants could bring down an elephant, especially an army of Uchiha with red eyes.
Even if Kotoamatsukami’s power was more substantial than expected, it wasn’t an attack that could destroy the soul.
As long as Shisui died, Jin would use the system to seize all his power, and Kotoamatsukami would be no exception.
In this way, Uchiha Jin was already invincible!
Just a bit of manipulation, and with Shisui’s poor persuasive skills and saintly political stance, he would quickly be viewed as an enemy by the Uchiha.
One thing was a Mangekyo Sharingan not willing to help, but if he became the clan’s enemy, Fugaku might be forced to reveal his own Mangekyo!
If Hiruzen Sarutobi remained indecisive and didn’t ally with Danzo to launch a full-scale assault, the outcome was inevitable.
As for whether Sarutobi and Danzo might wait until after the battle to take advantage…
Would Jin be afraid?
Not at all!
At worst, he’d flip the table!
With Shisui’s and other elite Uchiha’s powers, attaining the Eternal Mangekyo would be effortless…
At that time, Jin could unite the Uchiha against Konoha, either severely crippling or even eradicating it from history.
True, the days ahead might be rough, and he might need to rebuild the Uchiha alone, but should he seek out Tsunade or Mei Terumi first…
Haha! Stay focused, Jin!
Clearing his mind of distractions, Uchiha Jin turned his gaze back to Shisui.
No matter Shisui’s choice, Jin didn’t care.
He was indifferent!
Compared to being surrounded and killed by the Uchiha army, Shisui’s death would be more fitting if it embodied his saintly persona’s frustration and resentment!
The Lord’s mercy had been shown, and Shisui failed to appreciate it. Now, he must face his destined end!
Indifferently glancing at Shisui, who was essentially dead, Jin addressed Fugaku and Setsuna.
“Clan leader, Elder, Shisui has just awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan and clearly can’t control this immense power!”
“So, please help calm him down. Let our Mangekyo rest on the stage for now!”
Fugaku and Setsuna nodded in agreement. The Mangekyo Sharingan was incredibly significant for the Uchiha and needed proper care.
But Shisui’s mind was already elsewhere; he needed to rush to the Hokage Tower to inform Hiruzen Sarutobi of Jin’s treachery!
Shisui believed he might be unable to deal with Jin, but the wise and powerful Hiruzen indeed could.
The massive Susanoo slowly dissipated as Shisui landed on the stage, bowing to Fugaku.
“Clan leader, I’m exhausted. I’ll go rest now!”
“In that case…”
Before Fugaku could respond, Jin interrupted.
“The activation of Susanoo has alerted the spies outside the compound. Shisui should stay here until the event ends!”
“Indeed!”
Setsuna stepped forward, kindly grabbing Shisui’s hand.
“Let’s discuss everything after the event!”
Clearly!
Fugaku and Setsuna, prompted by Jin, recognized Shisui’s awkward position in the clan.
This traitor… lost lamb, needed proper guidance, not to be misled by Sarutobi!
“I…”
Not skilled in words, Shisui felt helpless as Fugaku and Setsuna escorted him to the stage.
But before leaving, his eyes, full of murderous intent, remained locked on Jin.
Jin was unfazed. Turning to the Uchiha around him, he shouted.
“Did you see that!”
“Munakata’s death is unfortunate, but dying in battle is a Uchiha’s fortune!”
“Knowing this, he used an incomplete forbidden technique. Though he didn’t win, he gifted us a Mangekyo, making his soul rest in peace!”
“You!”
On the stage, Shisui gritted his teeth, his rage almost tangible.
How can someone be so shameless? Claiming his Mangekyo was awakened in the duel, blaming Munakata’s death on a technique mishap…
“Shisui, you wouldn’t want the Third Hokage to know you hid your Mangekyo, right?”
As Shisui prepared to refute, another mental intrusion reached him.
What!
Shisui’s pupils trembled, realizing his Mangekyo was hidden from the clan and Hiruzen and Danzo.
Given the clan-village tension, revealing he hid the Mangekyo now would ruin his efforts to aid the Hokage.
“You…”
Shisui believed in the Hokage’s wisdom, but the unacceptable outcome choked his words.
No one noticed Shisui on the stage, as all eyes, burning with enthusiasm, were fixed on Jin.
Because…
