Naruto: The Fall of the Uchiha - Chapter 26
“I hereby announce that the Uchiha Clan’s First ‘World’s Greatest Ninja Tournament’ is officially concluded!”
Uchiha Tonbo stood at the center of the arena, loudly proclaiming to the gathered Uchiha clan members.
“Make Uchiha Great Again!”
As Tonbo’s words echoed, a wave of cheers erupted. Every Uchiha’s face was lit with unmistakable admiration.
“Make Uchiha Great Again!”
Even the elders on the dais couldn’t help but tear up, their aged voices excitedly joining the chorus.
Uchiha Setsuna and Uchiha Fugaku, their eyes moist with emotion, smiled at each other, their youthful vigor momentarily restored, and they quietly echoed the sentiment.
“Make Uchiha Great Again!”
The only ones out of place were Uchiha Shisui and Uchiha Itachi, standing off to the side.
“How did this happen…”
Shisui’s eyes reflected his unease. He couldn’t believe the Uchiha clan had undergone such a monumental transformation in three days.
The Uchiha, originally numbering around a thousand ninjas, remained the same, but their quality had soared.
After three days of intense, high-level battles, every Sharingan-wielding Uchiha had made tremendous gains. The emotional atmosphere even pushed some envious clan members to awaken their Sharingan.
Had it not been for the natural limits of each Uchiha’s talent and age, the thousand present would not just be ordinary ninjas but a force that could terrify even Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo Shimura—a thousand elite Jonin.
Shisui was shaken but, after observing for three days, found it all unsurprising.
Over a hundred high-quality ninja duels, showcasing mastery of ninjutsu, battle tactics, timing, and micro-manipulations, perfectly aligned with the Sharingan’s strengths.
Moreover, during the final rounds, Uchiha Jin invited the elder council to participate, serving as commentators and summarizers.
This finishing touch immensely enhanced both participation and professionalism. Witnessing elite Jonin display their skills and having Shadow-level experts analyze and summarize the techniques ensured that everyone, even the audience, gained something valuable.
This combination was a knockout punch. For the Uchiha Chunin and Jonin, it was like being spoon-fed techniques. If they didn’t gain from it, they might as well quit being ninjas.
Even Shisui, with his Shadow-level prowess from the Third Great Ninja War, benefited from the intense learning environment.
Hiss…
Shisui, Fugaku, Setsuna, and even Jin were amazed by the Uchiha clan’s potential in war.
Of course, Shisui felt more terrified, while Jin felt exhilarated.
The Uchiha had a solid foundation now, but Jin was more excited about the bonds formed through the tournament.
Despite being in this world for some time, Jin still struggled to understand the somewhat masochistic trait of his clan.
For the Uchiha, nothing bridged hearts better than fists and blades.
Through these hundred battles, Jin saw clearly how rivals who nearly killed each other on the stage developed mutual respect afterward.
It wasn’t hard to imagine.
If he led the Uchiha into a war with Konoha, they might awaken a few more Mangekyo Sharingan amidst the blood and fire.
This thought filled Jin with excitement. A sense of warmth and security finally replaced his insecurity since arriving in this world.
Moreover.
What delighted Jin even more, was that beyond the expected increase in Jonin numbers, two Uchiha elite Jonin had broken into Shadow-level.
Standing beside him were Uchiha Yuuzen and Uchiha Tunam, who hadn’t awakened the Mangekyo but had advanced in Fire and Lightning Release techniques, respectively.
Shadow-level strength doesn’t necessarily equate to being a Kage!
Becoming a Kage requires Shadow-level strength, but having Shadow-level strength doesn’t automatically make one a Kage.
The term Shadow-level properly refers to S-class ninja!
Generally, clan leaders from large clans like the Uchiha, Hyuga, Sarutobi, Ino-Shika-Cho, and Aburame all possess S-class strength.
Especially in prestigious clans like the Uchiha and Hyuga, at least two known Shadow-level experts are typically present in each era.
In this generation, the Uchiha were represented by Setsuna and Fugaku. Shisui, due to his record and undisclosed Mangekyo, wasn’t officially recognized as Shadow-level.
Thus, Jin’s pleasant surprise of two more Shadow-level fighters was a cause for jubilation for Fugaku and Setsuna.
Three new, vibrant Shadow-level warriors! Though just starting their Shadow-level journey, their combined strength could easily outmatch seasoned veterans.
Not to mention, they now had a Mangekyo user…
Seeing Fugaku and Setsuna’s mutual respect and camaraderie, a sight devoid of past rivalries, filled Shisui’s heart with despair.
“What now!”
Feeling the reborn Uchiha’s vigor and the growing radicalism among his clan, Shisui was filled with hopelessness.
Even Kotoamatsukami couldn’t alter so many minds!
Shisui’s heart ached, but Itachi’s grip on his hand brought a small measure of comfort.
Shisui lifted his head.
Glancing at Jin!
No…he’s beyond saving, impossible to persuade…
Shisui then looked at the clan leader and the elders before finally fixing his gaze on Itachi, seeing him as a last hope.
“Itachi, you need to talk to the clan leader. You’re still his son, maybe only you can persuade him now!”
Itachi glanced at his father’s familiar figure in the distance, a complex expression flashing across his eyes.
“Don’t worry, Shisui. Leave it to me!”
