Naruto: The Fall of the Uchiha - Chapter 27
“Comrades, thank you for your hard work!”
Standing on an awards podium formed by Earth Release, Uchiha Jin warmly greeted the crowd below, holding the championship trophy and flowers.
Beside Jin, holding their trophies and flowers, Uchiha Yuhara and Uchiha Tunan maintained their cold demeanor, gazing proudly into the sky. But the slight curves at the corners of their mouths revealed their happiness at the recognition and cheers from their clan.
Clearly!
No, Uchiha was upset about losing to Jin in the final. If there was any discontent, it was directed at their lack of talent and insufficient effort.
Jin’s decision not to participate in the initial elimination rounds but to assign himself a spot in the final four left the clan speechless. However, no one cared about such a minor detail after witnessing Jin’s immense strength.
After all, the tournament rules clearly stated that the chief judge, Uchiha Jin, had the final say on all actions and interpretations!
Makes sense!
“Elder Jin, thank you for your hard work!”
“Elder Jin, thank you for your hard work!”
“Elder Jin, thank you for your hard work!”
…
Feeling the overwhelming cheers, Jin nodded in satisfaction. As his plan unfolded, it was time to step into the spotlight.
Jin sneered at Fugaku and Setsuna, who were still smiling foolishly on the dais.
Jin didn’t have a strong desire for control; it was simply that those two incompetents were holding things back. He had to step out from behind the scenes to ensure his plan proceeded smoothly.
And for the Uchiha, who respected strength above all else, there was no better way to gain recognition than demonstrating his power.
Indeed!
The Uchiha were a proud bunch. Once you beat them thoroughly, everything else becomes easier!
In the past, Hashirama Senju wasn’t harsh enough on Madara Uchiha, which led to all sorts of issues and allowed Black Zetsu to manipulate.
Similarly, Hiruzen Sarutobi was the same. If only…
Oh!
The ‘strongest Hokage’ couldn’t entirely suppress the Uchiha. Never mind…
If he couldn’t do it before, he certainly wouldn’t be able to do it from today onwards.
After the tournament’s trials, Uchiha’s top fighters significantly improved, and if unforeseen circumstances did not occur, they would stay that way for a while.
What limited the Uchiha wasn’t their potential but time to absorb and consolidate their gains. Additionally, another major constraint was the number of Uchiha ninjas.
Across the entire village, the term Genin might seem insignificant, and the Uchiha having more Chunin than Genin didn’t mean Genin numbers were unimportant.
Unless facing someone like Madara Uchiha, those overlooked Genin still had a chance to harm Chunin or even Jonin. Even a Shadow-level ninja wasn’t invincible.
Ninjas, after all…
Most couldn’t escape the high-attack, low-defense characteristic!
Even Genin could take down Jonin, especially in large-scale battles. This justified sending fresh graduates into battle.
On the battlefield, an extra Genin could become a crucial human bomb!
However, addressing the shortage of Genin, even with Jin’s unique perspective, was a tricky problem.
The Uchiha’s reputation was too tarnished for mass recruitment, and the birth rate among Kekkei Genkai clans was notoriously low.
Additionally, while the ninja profession seemed prestigious, the income could have been higher. Only high-ranking families like Fugaku’s could afford to have more children.
Wait!
A sudden realization struck Jin!
No wonder the Mangekyo and Eternal Mangekyo often appeared in clan leaders and elders. Now it made sense…
Jin silently criticized the ninja world’s unfairness before shifting his gaze from the cheering crowd to the dais.
The Uchiha now had thirteen more Jonin and two Shadow-level fighters. This top-tier force could now challenge any prestigious clan in the ninja world unless faced with a massive ninja village siege.
Uh…
I excluded the ?tsutsuki clan on the moon unless they agreed not to use their Tenseigan.
So…
Jin’s eyes slowly scanned the dais, finally resting on the troubled faces of Shisui and Itachi.
“After three days of fermenting, some people must be getting anxious!”
Jin smirked coldly, his eyes brimming with killing intent. With a slight sigh, he muttered.
“I’m getting impatient too. Let’s add some fuel to the fire!”
“What?”
Beside him, Yuhara and Tunan sensed the intent of the fleeting killing and looked curiously at Jin.
“It’s nothing!”
Jin’s killing intent vanished, replaced by a gentle, spring-like demeanor. After signaling Yuhara and Tunan to relax, he returned to the crowd.
“Attention everyone!”
“Yes!”
At Jin’s call, the Uchiha, accustomed to his orders over the past days, stood at attention, awaiting instructions.
“The tournament results don’t matter. What matters is what you’ve learned. Now I declare!”
Jin wasted no time showcasing his powerful oratory skills and decisively addressed the crowd.
“Genin and Chunin, listen up!”
“Yes!”
“You can disperse now or stay and share your experiences from the tournament. Integrate these lessons into your skills, and Jonin will be within reach!”
“Yes!”
Hundreds responded with joyous shouts, reviving the Uchiha compound and causing another shockwave among the Root members stationed outside.
After arranging the Genin and Chunin, Jin turned his attention to the Jonin.
“Uchiha Jonin, listen up!”
“Yes!”
Though fewer in number, the Jonin’s collective presence was formidable. Each wore a confident smile.
“Let’s go for BBQ!”
“Huh?”
“What?”
