Naruto: The Fall of the Uchiha - Chapter 42
A barbecue leading to a bloody incident!
Recalling the headline he had prepared for the Konoha Daily, Uchiha Jin couldn’t help but smile with satisfaction as he sat in Akimichi’s Yakitori House.
That’s right!
Although Jin had never used the media as a weapon, given his knowledge of tactics, he still needed to prepare for it.
In this age, relying on rumors to manipulate public opinion seemed too crude for Jin’s taste.
What frustrated him even more was how effective Danzo’s crude methods were.
It was hard to tell whether Danzo was just lucky or if those who sacrificed their lives were too fragile.
If Jin wanted to cause trouble, he could easily expose the so-called Konoha F4 in the media, using the police force’s authority in Konoha.
However, despite the world’s somewhat erratic technological level, it remained a place where strength was paramount.
Public opinion could only sway straightforward people like White Fang; Jin didn’t believe Hiruzen Sarutobi lacked the fortitude to withstand it.
As for Danzo?
That guy could probably clean his face with his tongue… Ugh.
Just imagining that disgusting scene made Jin shiver.
Although public opinion might not achieve much, it could still disgust Hiruzen and his cronies and amplify today’s victory.
Thinking about Hiruzen’s frustrated face, struggling for the sake of the “Will of Fire,” alleviated much of Jin’s pent-up frustration from the past two years.
Sometimes, people deceive themselves with pretense.
A person’s actions define them, and although Hiruzen’s past wasn’t purely evil, he had long established himself as a dishonest politician.
Such people often deceive themselves, using grandiose words to package their actions, forgetting their darker deeds.
Even when faced with dark choices again, they would use those grand words to justify themselves—a basic yet effective technique of the dragon-slaying art.
While not inherently a weakness, it was an unparalleled strategy in this politically naive world.
But Jin knew that taking it off wouldn’t be accessible once someone wore a mask for too long.
This “Will of Fire” mask had granted Hiruzen many conveniences, yet it also bound his principles.
So Jin could act recklessly, while Hiruzen, despite his power and authority, had to endure insults and mockery.
“Waiter!”
Jin’s smiling gaze swept over the triumphant Uchiha jonin and the stiff Akimichi clan members temporarily serving as waiters.
Indeed!
The current Akimichi Yakitori House looked very familiar. Aside from Choza Akimichi sitting behind the counter, occasionally munching on skewers, many of the waiters had recently confronted the Uchiha.
But after the Police Force cleared out the “hidden spies,” the Uchiha came en masse to this renowned yakitori house in Konoha.
Despite their disbelief that the Uchiha would crush the “Darkness of the Ninja World” and humiliate the “Strongest Hokage” over a barbecue, the Hokage faction supporters, especially since the target was the Akimichi clan’s restaurant, maintained their vigilance.
Thus…
Due to the sudden staff shortage at the Yakitori house, the Akimichi clan members tasked with surveillance and alert duties firmly took on the role of waiters.
Hmm!
Without exaggeration, the Akimichi clan’s culinary skills were indeed top-notch!
No wonder they were part of the Ino-Shika-Cho trio…
Uh…
Well, it’s part of the “Butterfly” trio.
Seeing the hefty Akimichi waiters, Jin’s imagination of “butterflies” was again shattered.
The Multiplication and Butterfly Transformation Techniques…
Through his Sharingan, Jin observed the twenty or so Akimichi Jonin now serving as waiters, gaining a clearer understanding of Konoha’s strength as the most substantial ninja village.
Konoha was strong; its leaders were just too weak!
Like the Uchiha’s promising start with Fugaku and Shisui, Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo Shimura were good off.
They say having one talented leader could conquer the world, but with four like these, Konoha was indeed in for some rough times!
“Bring out the sake!”
Jin suddenly stood up, his voice full of vigor as he addressed the Uchiha around him.
“Everyone, eat and drink well. Tonight’s expenses are on our clan leader!”
“Long live!”
“Long live!”
“Long live!”…
Jin’s declaration pushed the already excited Uchiha, thrilled by their earlier triumph, into a higher state of ecstasy.
And the Akimichi clan members became busier…
Meanwhile, far away in the Uchiha compound, Fugaku sneezed again, wondering if he was getting old…
(Fugaku: Damn it! Someone must be cursing me!)
Amid the joyous laughter, Jin’s expression gradually calmed, his deep eyes shifting towards the iconic Hokage Tower beneath the Hokage Rock in the north.
A lot had happened tonight. Jin had accomplished feats many never dared to dream of.
But Jin knew his goal was never to help the Uchiha avenge Danzo or seize Hiruzen Sarutobi’s position.
These were secondary actions he took as a member of the Uchiha clan and an elder.
In a deeper dimension, as a system host, it was about creating a better environment for his clan to thrive, loosening the soil, and removing weeds.
Humiliating Danzo and Hiruzen wasn’t necessary!
From the beginning, Jin had only one target!
Shisui!
The “Shisui of the Body Flicker,” repeatedly kicked by Jin, wasn’t weak.
On the contrary.
Those kicks proved Shisui’s strength; it was just that Shisui subconsciously wanted to escape the helplessness between the village and the clan.
Jin had no killing intent, and Shisui had no fighting spirit… It was like Zhou Yu beating Huang Gai, one willing to fight, the other to be beaten!
So!
As Danzo’s pitiful face reappeared in his mind, Jin couldn’t help but fan the flickering embers toward the Hokage Tower.
“Danzo, get ready to burn!”
