Naruto: The Fall of the Uchiha - Chapter 5
Something’s wrong!
Uchiha Shisui’s alarm bells went off in his mind. Even though he didn’t sense any immediate threat, he felt a chilling malice emanating from the man before him.
Uchiha Jin had a devilish smirk as if eagerly anticipating dragging Shisui into an inescapable abyss.
But…
What exactly went wrong?
Shisui was sure that under the absolute power of his Mangeky? Sharingan, the despicable “Shatter Genius” in front of him had no chance of struggling.
But it didn’t make sense…
How could Uchiha Jin, who dared to confront the Third Hokage and Danzo Shimura head-on, be so quickly subdued without resisting?
This isn’t right!
This wasn’t the Uchiha Jin Shisui knew. The man who boldly criticized the Hokage and his advisors, who constantly threatened with terms like “war,” wouldn’t surrender so easily.
Even with Kotoamatsukami as his trump card, Shisui had come fully prepared for resistance.
But this overly smooth result…
“Jin, what exactly are you planning?”
Shisui cautiously observed his surroundings, Mangeky?’s powerful ocular ability pressing down on Jin. His voice was cold and stern.
“The power of the Mangeky? is beyond your comprehension. Whatever you’re planning, I advise you not to make a futile struggle.”
“So it’s Kotoamatsukami…”
Jin’s tone was tinged with regret, but he still smiled as he looked at Shisui.
“The legendary ultimate genjutsu… truly something to anticipate.”
What!
The name’ Kotoamatsukami’ came out of Jin’s mouth, making Shisui’s heart stop. A sudden chill ran down his spine.
Why?
He had never revealed his Mangeky?’s abilities, not even to the Third Hokage. Yet Jin not only knew the name but also its effects…
And despite knowing the power and evil of Kotoamatsukami, Jin remained unfazed, seemingly unconcerned by the potential mind-manipulating genjutsu.
“Why…”
Shisui’s voice trembled, filled with desperation as he looked pleadingly at Jin.
In response.
Jin suddenly stood up, roaring angrily at Shisui.
“Why ask so many questions? If you’re going to do it, hurry up! Even I can feel fear, you know! What if I explain everything and you don’t dare to act afterward?”
Hmm.
I was using the most arrogant tone to say the most cowardly thing!
Shisui felt that the absurdity he’d experienced in his entire life paled compared to today’s events.
But at this moment, he bought into it. Bearing the fate of the clan and the village, he couldn’t afford to take even the slightest risk.
After a long silence…
Though it felt like an eternity for both Shisui and Jin.
Finally…
“Forget it!”
Jin collapsed back into his chair, glaring at Shisui with a hint of resentment.
“If we were to charge the Hokage’s office with those cowardly fools, I could accept whatever outcome. Ha, tu!”
He spat disdainfully in the direction of the Naka Shrine.
“Sorry, throat’s a bit dry!”
Ignoring Shisui’s speechless gaze, Jin continued slowly.
“I originally wanted to use your Kotoamatsukami to spur them on, but it seems I overestimated my own tolerance. Being controlled is just too much for me to accept.”
What!
Shisui was merely confused before, but Jin’s words now enlightened him, though it also sent a shiver down his spine.
“You… you actually…”
Shisui pointed a trembling finger at Jin, his lips quivering as he struggled to speak coherently.
Using himself as bait…
Shisui couldn’t believe someone like Jin existed, someone willing to sell out even his soul.
Yes!
Feeling the cold chill, Shisui finally calmed down, relieved that he hadn’t used Kotoamatsukami on Jin.
A “Shatter Genius” elder who suddenly became an ally of the village would be suspicious. It would be an unthinkable transformation for the Uchiha leadership, who would see it as the final straw breaking the delicate balance with the Hokage.
The Uchiha’s internal factions, whether radical or moderate, all valued “strength” above all.
Without sufficient power or certainty, the so-called radical and moderate factions emerged, but at their core, they were all fundamentally opposed to the current Konoha leadership.
Uchiha’s interests were paramount!
Jin’s seemingly insignificant “Shatter Genius” role was crucial in this context.
Although not favored by the elders, Jin was seen as a crucial combat power in a potential war with Konoha. His ability to train new blood was also invaluable.
Thus.
The Uchiha clan had united under pressure from Sarutobi Hiruzen and Danzo Shimura to protect Jin, making him the youngest elder in Uchiha history.
Jin was a benchmark!
Should the Hokage faction act against the Uchiha, Jin would be central to the conflict.
A sudden shift in Jin’s radical stance would sign to the Uchiha leadership that something was amiss.
This wouldn’t be seen as a move towards peace, but rather the final straw to break the political balance between the Hokage and Uchiha!
Realizing he almost handed this final straw himself, Shisui’s back was drenched in cold sweat.
“Jin, you’re terrifying!”
Shisui’s mind was filled with images of the Uchiha and Konoha locked in a bloody battle, his ordinarily calm face dripping with sweat.
“Don’t say that. I chickened out, didn’t I? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have caught on. I think I’ll bide my time and gather more strength before taking them down properly.”
The oppressive aura around Jin vanished, replaced by a casual familiarity as he draped an arm over Shisui’s shoulder and spoke earnestly.
“Or you could try to trust me. If you join me, we can lead the Uchiha to a glorious future!”
Slap!
Shisui shivered, quickly knocking Jin’s hand away and retreating several meters to a safe distance before warning him.
“Jin, I will not join you in your schemes!”
With that, Shisui’s form disappeared, leaving the room with only Jin’s face slowly darkening.
“The Uchiha’s susceptibility to persuasive words is indeed a special trait, but I should avoid using such grand deception. The helplessness of having one’s fate out of their control is something I never want to experience again.”
Jin casually wiped the cold sweat from his brow, the evening sun casting a warm glow on his handsome face, though his heart churned with murderous intent.
Shisui…
I can only be at peace if you’re dead!
