Naruto: The Fall of the Uchiha - Chapter 75
“It’s useless!”
Obito, who had been easily relying on Kamui, intended to mock the incoming blade, but an inexplicable chill crept up his spine.
Not good!
Having faced death before, Obito once again felt that eerie closeness to death, as if time itself slowed down.
“I can’t fall here!”
Though unsure of how Uchiha Jin managed it, a desperate will to survive surged within Obito, making him retreat in the shortest possible time!
Swish!
The blood-red blade cut through his illusionary form in the real world. Not feeling the anticipated pain, Obito was about to sigh in relief when he suddenly felt a cold slash across his forehead.
“Ah… ah… ah…”
Though unscathed, Obito clutched his head, unable to suppress his agonized screams.
How could this be?
The power of Susanoo shouldn’t be able to traverse space, let alone threaten him in Kamui’s dimension!
Despite the unbearable pain, Obito’s mind grew eerily calm, frantically analyzing how he could be harmed.
Kamui was Obito’s greatest asset in dominating the ninja world!
Though limited to five minutes of use, it was absurdly powerful. Coupled with the enhancements from White Zetsu, Obito was confident that even Nagato with the Rinnegan couldn’t harm him directly.
But…
Obito clutched his smooth, unmarked forehead, fighting the excruciating soul-rending pain, and flickered a hundred meters away from Uchiha Jin.
“What the hell is with this guy!”
Only when he felt a semblance of safety, slightly overcoming the pain, did Obito look up at the culprit, Uchiha Jin.
Hmph!
Just one glance filled Obito with deep dread!
Two streams of blood tears flowed from Jin’s eyes, his six-pointed star-shaped Mangekyo spinning eerily, exuding a sinister and bloody pressure.
Careless!
Thinking Jin’s abilities couldn’t affect him, relying on his Kamui, Obito had let his guard down.
But he was wrong!
The soul!
Recalling White Zetsu’s recent memories, Obito couldn’t forget Jin’s bizarre technique that devoured Danzo’s soul.
Considering the strange fluctuations in Kamui’s dimension, he could deduce the cause of his pain even without full details.
A Mangekyo technique capable of cutting souls across dimensions!
Obito was horrified but also felt a tinge of relief.
Even a simple use had such a backlash; Obito could only think that powerful abilities came at a cost.
Moreover…
Not everyone had a White Zetsu to help replenish their ocular powers!
Despite the shock, Obito’s mind was now much calmer.
No matter how formidable a technique, if it wasn’t an Eternal Mangekyo, it couldn’t be used often under such heavy consumption.
Considering the tension between Konoha and the Uchiha, Obito felt renewed confidence.
“How many times can you use such a technique?”
Despite the searing pain, Obito snarled through gritted teeth.
“Come over here, let me slash you once, and I’ll tell you!”
Jin rolled his eyes, baffled at such a stupid question. Did Obito really think someone would reveal their secrets?
Although not defeating Obito was a regret for Jin, it wasn’t entirely unexpected.
After all, space manipulation was a high-level ability in any world.
Jin just wanted to test if his [Yomi’s Blade: Interference] could manifest in Kamui’s dimension.
The results were clear…
Crossing dual dimensions required an immense amount of ocular power. Jin couldn’t achieve this yet, but he found a loophole in Obito’s residual image in the real world.
Obito in Kamui and his image in reality were like a mirror linking the two dimensions in a strange parallel state.
Though Jin couldn’t manifest Yomi’s power directly in Kamui, he could interfere in the space between.
Hence!
In reality, the Susanoo blade was merely a guise; the real attack was a Yomi Blade materialized from Yomi’s power.
Unfortunately…
It was still through a layer of space, weakening the Yomi Blade and causing a delay, but it failed to fatally injure Obito.
The consumption was enormous, and Jin wasn’t sure if Danzo could sustain frequent use…
If only he could slash Obito directly with the Yomi Blade, that would deter Obito from his antics.
Jin coldly stared at Obito, eyes full of unmasked battle intent.
Come on!
Hmph!
Without gaining useful information, Obito wouldn’t risk another direct confrontation. Souls were different from physical bodies; a mishap meant total defeat.
“Wait and see. I, Uchiha Madara, will return!”
After this threat, Obito decided to leave the dangerous area. With Kamui limited to five minutes and Jin backed by the entire Uchiha clan, staying was unwise.
Obito needed to retreat, return to his base, and use White Zetsu and the Gedo Statue’s power to heal his soul.
Swish!
Obito’s form vanished into the distorted space without hesitation, while Jin didn’t attempt to stop him.
“If you want to hide behind Madara’s mask, never take it off.”
Wiping the blood from his eyes, Jin collapsed ungracefully, pondering how to handle Obito, the wild turkey escaping the farm.
Like cops arriving late in a drama, Konoha’s Anbu finally reached the scene as the curtain fell.
“What happened here!”
