Naruto: The Fall of the Uchiha - Chapter 80
Kurenai Yuhi, one of the few female Jonin in Konoha known for her exceptional genjutsu skills, was now completely physically and mentally bound by Uchiha Jin’s genjutsu.
As Uchiha Jin took a moment to appraise the bound Kurenai, he noticed her black curly hair, deep red eyes, and the distinctive white bandage dress accentuating her impressive figure. She indeed had the skills and assets to attract the attention of the Hokage’s son.
In the original series, Kurenai’s debut was overshadowed by Uchiha Itachi, whose superior genjutsu rendered her abilities useless, leading to a humiliating defeat before she could showcase her true potential. In this timeline, her fate was even more dire, as Uchiha Jin had no intention of holding back.
If mastering genjutsu was like taking an exam, the Yuhi clan’s excellent heritage and talent could achieve a perfect score through sheer effort. However, for the Uchiha clan members who awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan, achieving a perfect score was merely a formality.
Kurenai Yuhi, with her perceptive abilities, must have realized this painful truth.
“You…”
Feeling the audacious scrutiny of Uchiha Jin’s gaze and hearing his humiliating words, Kurenai was both shocked and furious. But the genjutsu that bound her rendered her once proud skills as fragile as wet paper in front of Uchiha Jin.
Kurenai finally understood why her father, Yuhi Shinku, had spoken so highly of the Uchiha clan’s genjutsu prowess with admiration and longing.
“Kurenai!”
Even though Asuma was severely injured, seeing the woman he admired being humiliated and her pained and helpless expression ignited a surge of strength within him. He struggled to rise, extending a hand in a futile attempt to save his beloved.
However, Uchiha Jin had no patience for melodramatic scenes. Casually kicking a stone, he sent the barely standing Asuma crashing back into the dirt.
“This is the so-called Twelve Guardian Ninja? Consider me unimpressed!”
Uchiha Jin grabbed Kurenai’s bandage-covered collar with disdainful eyes and walked towards the fallen Asuma and the prone Anbu members.
He had enjoyed himself enough for the day, but if Asuma continued to act recklessly, Uchiha Jin wouldn’t hesitate to show him true cruelty.
Stepping once more on Asuma’s face, Uchiha Jin’s tone was full of scorn and derision.
“You can’t argue, you can’t fight, what gave you the courage to stand before me?”
“Anyone else wants to question me now?”
“You…”
Seeing the pity in Kurenai’s eyes and her helpless state, Asuma’s anger flared, but he was powerless to resist.
Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!
Asuma’s eyes were filled with hatred. He would do anything if he had the chance, but he didn’t even have that chance…
“Stop!”
Just as Asuma was sinking into despair, a familiar and hopeful voice called out.
“Father… umph…”
Asuma felt genuine joy at his father’s arrival for the first time, only to be shoved back into the dirt.
“What’s going on here? Uchiha Jin, what are you doing again?”
Sarutobi Hiruzen’s use of the word “again” betrayed a certain resignation. He thought he was prepared for anything, but seeing the familiar figure being crushed, his composure shattered.
“Asuma!”
Sarutobi Hiruzen cried out, instantly moving to save his son.
However…
Uchiha Jin’s unhesitating stomp made him stop abruptly as he neared within four or five meters.
“Uchiha Jin, what do you want? If you have an issue, take it out on me!”
Fear for his son’s life made Hiruzen, normally indecisive, suddenly resolute.
But Uchiha Jin remained indifferent, meeting Hiruzen’s gaze until the old man’s hidden patience resurfaced, then sneered.
Coward!
Even if anger clouded Hiruzen’s judgment momentarily, once he realized the situation wasn’t beyond repair, he couldn’t help but start weighing the consequences.
Jin could sense that fleeting resolve, but it disappeared the moment Hiruzen’s gaze drifted to those beside him. What would happen to Konoha without his leadership?
Considering Uchiha Fugaku’s Mangekyo Sharingan and Itachi’s dual role as a spy, Hiruzen’s heart was a tangled mess.
“Let’s talk this out.”
Compromise becomes a habit, and once you get used to it, the urge to reclaim lost ground fades, perhaps only resurfacing at the end of one’s life…
Is this the so-called Shinobi hero?
More like a shinobi coward!
With disdain, Uchiha Jin glanced at Hiruzen and spoke with arrogance.
“Ordinary Konoha villager Sarutobi Hiruzen, the Police Force is conducting an operation here. You, as a civilian, need to leave!”
“You…”
Hiruzen’s face turned red with anger at Jin’s blatant disrespect.
However, decades of self-restraint and the current tense situation between Konoha and the Uchiha held him back, filling him with a deep sense of sorrow.
Accustomed to Danzo’s sacrificial leadership, Hiruzen now felt lost. He instinctively glanced at Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu for support.
Uchiha Jin’s blatant dismissal of his Hokage status was infuriating, but Hiruzen wasn’t ready to provoke a conflict without proper preparation.
After all, while this situation was embarrassing, pride was never a politician’s top priority.
Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu shared a look, realizing they no longer had Danzo to rely on.
Yes…
He’s gone…
The two elders stepped forward, trying to force their way to Uchiha Jin while adopting a conciliatory tone.
“Let’s talk this out. We’re all part of this village…”
