Naruto: This Uchiha is too Evil - Chapter 38
Their words were met with silence. How were they supposed to respond?
Disagree?
That wouldn’t work! Like Itsuki said, if you weren’t destined to be Hokage, shouldn’t you at least be allowed to dream?
But agreeing…
They couldn’t shake the feeling that Itsuki might drag the Hokage here for cremation just to test it out. They imagined Itsuki approaching the Hokage and saying, “I opened a shop. How about letting me burn you once to show support?”
Nonsense!
Nonsense!
“Judging by your expressions, you must agree with me, right?” Itsuki said, satisfied with their reactions. He grabbed Itachi and Shisui, leading them enthusiastically. “Come on, let me show you around. Even if you don’t need it, you must have relatives or friends who might, right? And if not, enemies will do. Someone might have the idea one day.”
“And even if you and your loved ones don’t need it today, what about tomorrow? The day after? You’ll need it someday.”
“Stop!” Shisui shook off Itsuki’s hand, annoyed. “Stop fooling around. We have serious business.”
“Fooling around?” Itsuki was outraged, pointing at the crematorium. “Do you know how much money I invested in this? A whole ten million ryo! I used up all the money Shisui saved with me. If this doesn’t make money, Shisui will be at a loss.”
“And you say I’m fooling around? What’s your motive? Trying to make me lose money, aren’t you?”
Shisui was speechless. Though he didn’t care much about money, the righteous indignation in Itsuki’s voice made him want to smack him.
“Itsuki, we really do have something important to discuss,” Itachi said calmly.
Itsuki glanced at him, grinning. “Not calling me ‘big brother’ anymore? Have you grown up? Fine, let’s talk in the meeting room.”
With that, Itsuki led them into the back room.
Kurenai, watching from behind, had a speechless expression. That was the meeting room?
As they stepped into the room, Itachi and Shisui had a strong urge to use Fire Release to burn everything down. To put it plainly, there were no chairs, only coffins. Four coffins are arranged in a cross, and a large coffin serves as the table. Did Itsuki have a grudge against coffins, or was this not a meeting room but a storage area for coffins? Even the arrangement seemed off!
The room was dimly lit with a few green-flamed candles, adding a spooky effect.
“Sit anywhere you like,” Itsuki said, plopping down on one of the coffins, crossing his legs and looking completely relaxed.
Itachi and Shisui exchanged looks.
Shisui asked, “Are you sure this guy can give you the answers you need?”
Itachi replied, “I was sure just now. Not so much now.”
Shisui said, “You’re sure sometimes?”
Itachi replied, “My instincts went haywire.”
“Speak up!” Itsuki raised an eyebrow, annoyed. “Hurry up, don’t waste my time. I’m busy with my business.”
Shisui sighed, “Itsuki, I beg you to stop this business. If it picks up, something major will go wrong.”
“Enough,” Itachi interrupted with a cough. “Itsuki, I want to become the clan leader. How do I go about it?”
Without hesitation, Itsuki replied firmly, “Get rid of your father!”
Shisui was speechless.
“Itachi… bro!” Itachi couldn’t hold back and added the ‘bro’ again.
“Am I wrong?” Itsuki asked, looking at Itachi with a strange expression. “Your father hasn’t even celebrated his fortieth birthday. He’s at his peak as a ninja. If you want to become the clan leader, the first step is to get rid of him.”
“Is there a way that doesn’t involve killing him?” Itachi asked.
Itsuki stroked his chin, murmuring, “To make him step down willingly? But your father is an ambitious Uchiha leader at his peak, who hasn’t accomplished anything significant. Asking him to step down is too difficult. Just get rid of him. Don’t stress about it. It’s not your first time. You’ll get used to it.”
“What do you mean it’s not my first time?” Itachi was even more speechless. Have I already gotten rid of my father? Does he come back to life?
“Itsuki bro, please think of a way. I genuinely want to help the Uchiha, to integrate them into Konoha,” Itachi said seriously.
Itsuki stared at Itachi.
He was smiling on the outside but swearing inside. Integrate into Konoha? Why do the Uchiha have to integrate into Konoha? He couldn’t understand these ninjas.
How was Konoha created?
The Uchiha and their allies, along with the Senju and their allies, jointly established Konoha. Konoha was built around these two pillars. Now, one pillar has fully integrated into Konoha and vanished. These ninjas still strive to make the other pillar disappear, too.
He really couldn’t understand!
Why must the Uchiha integrate?
What do they owe you?
Itsuki’s eyes grew cold.
The Senju integrating into Konoha was fine; it was Tobirama’s will. But the Uchiha don’t want that! Hence the malice and difficulties they face. Why? Who do you think you are?
Shisui and Itachi looked around.
Was it just their imagination, or did the room suddenly feel colder?
“Fine,” Itsuki sighed deeply. “Itachi, as you are now, no matter how hard you try, you can’t become the clan leader. Your father is doing well; there’s no reason for him to step down, even if the person asking is his son.”
“So, don’t hesitate. Just do it. Cut ties. Get rid of your father…”
He trailed off as Itachi activated his Mangekyou Sharingan.
“Itsuki bro, you must have sensed it. Like yours, my eyes are now the Mangekyou Sharingan,” Itachi said calmly, pride evident in his voice.
“As the third pair of Mangekyou Sharingan in the clan, and currently the only active pair, I believe I am qualified to run for clan leader.”
“Fine,” Itsuki sighed again. “Itachi, you really have grown up.”
“…Itsuki bro, you’re only two years older than me.”
“Alright!” Itsuki clapped his hands. “Since you’re so determined, I’ll help you. You can’t become the clan leader right away, but you can start as the deputy clan leader. How about that?”
Is that possible?
Itachi and Shisui were stunned.
“Is that real?” Shisui asked, incredulous. “Itsuki, can you really do that? Deputy clan leader?”
Where did this role come from?
“Deputy clan leader,” Itsuki said, grinning. “Itachi, I have high hopes for you. Keep it up!”
With a snap of his fingers, two figures appeared before Itsuki.
“Kisuke?”
“Minato?”
Seeing them, Itachi and Shisui grew severe.
These two were powerful Jonin. Their attitude suggested they were Itsuki’s subordinates.
This reminded Shisui of Itsuki’s claim of being the fourth-ranking boss in the Uchiha clan, which made him uneasy. What exactly did Itsuki plan? He had a feeling something big and crazy was brewing.
