Uchiha Fugaku had just seen off Setsuna and brewed himself a fresh cup of tea, enjoying a moment of relaxation. Talking with that old fox, Setsuna, was never easy. Setsuna, who had followed Madara Uchiha and survived under Tobirama Senju, was deep and calculating. Fugaku had to be very cautious to avoid being outmaneuvered by him. Now that Setsuna had left, Fugaku finally felt some relief.

But then, a loud shout echoed, making Fugaku’s eyes widen in surprise. As he heard Itsuki’s words, he couldn’t hold back his anger and spit out his tea. His eyes flashed with fury as he got up and strode out.

As the Uchiha clan leader, Fugaku’s residence might not be the best, but it certainly had the most serene environment. It was very peaceful. Usually, people passing by would instinctively lower their voices. Being a calm and gentle person, Mikoto Uchiha set the tone for their household. The servants followed suit. Thus, Itsuki’s sudden shout was so out of place that Fugaku couldn’t help but be taken aback.

And then, Itsuki’s words sank in—Itachi wanted to kill him? Ha! If he believed that, he’d be a fool. That’s his son!

“Itsuki, can’t you behave for a few days?” Fugaku shouted angrily at Itsuki as he opened the door. “Show some mercy on us, will you?”

Standing there with a blank expression, Setsuna thought, Oh, good heavens! The words sounded angry, but there was a hint of pleading. If you had the guts, why not just say you’d deal with him? And besides…

Setsuna stared at Itsuki. This kid, with his bandaged face, had just effortlessly overpowered him and dragged him here. Despite his age and declining strength, he still ranked highly among the Uchiha. Yet Itsuki had subdued him with ease. Just how strong is he?

“Clan leader, the information I have is absolutely reliable!” Itsuki said, patting his chest in assurance. “Itachi truly harbors ill intentions towards you.”

Fugaku sneered, “Where did you get this ‘reliable’ information? My son wants to kill me?”

“Don’t doubt it!” Itsuki said urgently. “Clan leader, you don’t know how hard I had to work to persuade Itachi to agree to this. If we don’t act fast, he might regret it.”

Fugaku: “…”

Setsuna: “…”

Fugaku took a deep breath and gritted his teeth, “Itsuki, follow me!”

“What’s up?” Itsuki asked, puzzled. “Clan leader, I’m here to make a deal after revealing such a big secret. My time is precious, you know. My shop is busy with customers.”

Your shop?! Fugaku thought. Who in Konoha wants that place to be busy? Okay, the other four villages may wish it well.

Fugaku said coldly, “Let’s settle this at the inner lake. If you can beat me, I’ll agree to your request. If not, well…”

I won’t feel satisfied if I don’t beat you up nicely. As for the request… Do I think I’ll lose? Even if there’s a slim chance, mere words mean nothing.

“Really? That simple?” Itsuki asked in surprise. “Just beating you? That’s like writing the number ‘one’—so simple.”

Fugaku felt his fists clench even harder. He snorted angrily and walked off, leaving a cold remark in the air, “Itsuki, I’m still the clan leader!”

“Hmph, Fugaku, you’ll regret this.”

Are we agreeing so quickly? Too confident. Being clan leader doesn’t mean being the strongest!

Itsuki turned to Setsuna, smiling, “Elder, would you care to witness this?”

“Certainly,” Setsuna agreed with a nod. He wanted to see the true strength of these two.

They walked towards the inner lake together. On the way, Setsuna asked, “How are your eyes?”

“Great! They suit me perfectly,” Itsuki replied with a grin. “As for the pair you have, Elder Setsuna, you should keep them for yourself. You’re the best person to use them.”

“Me?” Setsuna’s interest was piqued. “You want me to use these eyes? Aren’t you worried? Uchiha Setsuna is known to be dangerous—everyone in Konoha agrees on that.”

“Exactly!” Itsuki said with a smile. “Elder Setsuna, don’t you think that the more the Third Hokage opposes something, the more we should support it?”

Setsuna paused and then burst into laughter. What Itsuki said made perfect sense. This kid was indeed different from the other Uchiha. His efforts to win Itsuki over had been worthwhile.

They reached the inner lake, a large body of water within the Uchiha compound. Many Uchiha Jonin chose this spot to train their powerful jutsu or spar with each other.

Fugaku walked out onto the lake, his face dark with anger. Itsuki followed him, wearing a smile. When Fugaku turned around, Itsuki was less than a meter away.

“…Why are you so close?”

“…Why are you so close?”

They spoke simultaneously.

Fugaku’s eyes blazed with anger. Good grief! Were you using the Sharingan’s copying and predicting abilities here? Shouldn’t you still be adjusting to those transplanted eyes?

“Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!” Fugaku quickly performed the hand seals.

At the same time, Itsuki mirrored his movements. Except for their height and build, their actions were identical. It was like looking into a mirror.

“Boom!”

Two fireballs clashed. Here, the difference became apparent. Fugaku had never underestimated Itsuki, so he started with full force. Given Itsuki’s recent defeat of over a dozen Root ninjas, Fugaku knew he couldn’t afford to hold back. Yet he had still underestimated Itsuki.

Fugaku’s fireball had a diameter of over twenty meters. Itsuki’s fireball was nearly fifty meters wide—twice the size. As a result, Fugaku’s fireball was shattered.

“How is this possible?” Fugaku’s face grew serious as Itsuki’s fireball engulfed him.

“Boom!” A puff of white smoke rose, leaving a piece of wood in his place.

Substitution Jutsu!

Fugaku reappeared behind Itsuki, throwing three kunai.

“Thud, thud, thud!” The kunai struck Itsuki’s back accurately. But then, Itsuki’s body turned into water.

“Water Clone Jutsu?” Fugaku was stunned.

“Where is he?” He looked around, realizing he had lost track of Itsuki.

Setsuna couldn’t contain himself from the shore and called out, “Fugaku, have you grown rusty from not fighting? If he’s not on the surface, he’s underwater!”

As he spoke, a hand reached out from the water, grabbing Fugaku.
