Naruto: This Uchiha is too Evil - Chapter 54
Itsuki knew little about this isolated village. Despite planting spies in many places since childhood, Amegakure remained an impenetrable stronghold. This ninja village was extremely xenophobic, a necessity for its survival.
Amegakure was a pitiful, sympathetic village. Every time a ninja war broke out, they were beaten. Didn’t want to participate in the ninja wars? Tough luck! Sitting at the intersection of three great nations, such a strategic location couldn’t afford to remain uninvolved. Being proactive meant a lighter beating. Not proactive… well, it didn’t matter. Beatings were inevitable.
This was Amegakure.
“Tch, I don’t know the way, but I’m not worried about getting lost. Someone will come soon,” Itsuki said, catching a few raindrops in his hand and smiling.
Sure enough, as he walked towards a building, his body tensed, and his expression grew surprised. He slowly raised his head.
Before him stood a girl with exquisite features, probably in her early twenties. She wore a black cloak adorned with red clouds, the signature attire of the Akatsuki. Her hair was a pale blue with hints of purple, and her eyes were a rare orange. A delicate purple paper flower adorned the right side of her head. She had paper wings on her back, floating in midair like an angel.
She was none other than Itsuki’s target: Konan.
Itsuki couldn’t help but laugh, his smile wicked. His gaze at Konan was filled with aggression. He had expected to encounter Deidara or Sasori. Kakuzu and Hidan were unlikely since they were probably out making money. Orochimaru was likely holed up in some laboratory. As for Kisame… right, Zabuza Momochi! At this time, Zabuza should still be alive. Itachi hadn’t joined Akatsuki yet, so these two former Seven Ninja Swordsmen might work together unless Kisame hadn’t joined. It shouldn’t be. His informants in Kirigakure reported that the whereabouts of Fuguki Suikazan were unknown for a long time. Likely, he was already taken out.
Black Zetsu, the true inheritor of the Will of Fire, wasn’t known for his combat prowess but might appear. Then there was the pseudo-Madara, Tobi, or Uchiha Obito! The early stage boss of this ninja world. He might also show up.
In short, Itsuki considered many possibilities but didn’t expect to run into Konan immediately upon entering Amegakure. This beautiful woman didn’t show herself until later in the original series, even after Akatsuki started their operations.
Now though… It was too easy!
Itsuki’s goal was her.
He couldn’t help but hum a tune, “Who brought you to my side…”
“Uchiha?” Konan observed him, her delicate brows furrowing.
“Yes!” Itsuki replied gracefully. “Beautiful Miss Konan, hello!”
“You know me?” Konan was surprised. Her identity was top secret. Even within Akatsuki, few knew her true identity. How could a Uchiha know?
“Of course!” Itsuki smiled. “For a girl as beautiful as Miss Konan, even from thousands of miles away, I’ve heard of your fame and came to see you.”
Konan’s expression turned peculiar. The first time she saw such a talkative Uchiha? The first time she heard such sweet words from a Uchiha? Is he a Uchiha? She wouldn’t have believed it if it weren’t for the clan symbol on his back.
And… girl?
Konan sighed slightly. Although she appeared to be in her early twenties, she had to admit she was already in her thirties. She looked around Amegakure, the place that changed her life and that she had always wanted to change. It had undergone many changes like her. The constant, however, was the perpetual rain.
Looking up at Amegakure, she felt her insignificance. Because she was so small, the village never changed for her. Yahiko… when will we fulfill your wish?
Konan closed her eyes. When she opened them again, the familiar coldness had returned.
“This isn’t a place you should be, Uchiha. Leave.”
“Alright!” Itsuki’s quick agreement surprised Konan.
“But, Miss Konan, I came here for you. Would you join me for a meal?” Itsuki asked.
Konan sneered. “What do you think?”
“I think it’s possible!” Itsuki replied with a smile. “Because… Konan, Nagato, and Yahiko! Oh, and the Rinnegan. How about it?”
“What did you say?” Konan’s expression changed drastically. “How do you know?”
Knowing her identity was shocking enough. Knowing about Nagato and Yahiko was even more alarming. The Rinnegan? That was an absolute secret. There must be a spy. And it had to be someone very close, a trusted confidant!
Konan glared at Itsuki, her expression icy. She couldn’t let him leave!
“So, Miss Konan, will you join me for a meal?” Itsuki remained unfazed. “I have a secret to tell you. You should come alone. If someone else comes… well, you know, he’s being watched.”
“This secret, if exposed, could endanger Nagato’s life.”
“Konan, I don’t need to say more.”
Konan’s expression fluctuated. She gritted her teeth. “Follow me!”
She fluttered her wings and flew away.
Itsuki’s figure flickered as he followed her with the Body Flicker Technique.
The first step is complete!
“Hmm?”
Elsewhere in Amegakure, a man in a wheelchair opened his eyes suddenly. His pupils were light purple with concentric rings like ripples. Nagato! He turned to the side. “Konan, why did your paper clone leave with that Uchiha?”
Konan was about to answer but recalled Itsuki’s words. Nagato was under surveillance. That masked man… was dangerous!
Forget it, she thought. I’ll hide it now and tell him when the time is right. Nagato won’t blame me!
In a calm voice, Konan replied, “He came to make a deal. I thought maybe we could buy some information on Konoha.”
“Really?” Nagato sneered. “Uchiha, huh.”
He thought he understood her plan. The Uchiha, the Third Hokage, and Danzo were almost at open war. Danzo had already made private deals with them. If Danzo could do it, why not the Uchiha?
“Be careful, Konan.”
Konan smiled. “Nagato, you’re overthinking. It’s just a clone. Even if it falls into a trap, what does it matter?”
Nagato nodded slightly.
In the unnoticed corners, a subtle ripple occurred.
“Uchiha…”
A soft murmur that only one person could hear echoed.
