What nonsense! Konan couldn’t be bothered with his madness. She sneered and tested, “It’s just the two of us here. Can you tell me those secrets now?”

“No!” Itsuki answered bluntly.

“You…” Konan was furious. “What will it take for you to tell me?”

Itsuki shrugged. “There are no secrets, Konan. Don’t overthink it.”

Konan looked at Itsuki, suddenly understanding. She threw a scroll at him. “Here are one million explosive tags. Depending on your secrets, there will be more rewards.”

A million! Amegakure’s first billionaire ninja was confirmed!

Itsuki’s face broke into a wide grin. “What kind of secrets are you interested in, Konan? I’ve got plenty.”

Konan immediately responded, “The secrets about that masked man.”

“Who?!” Itsuki’s voice raised. “That’s an Uchiha, Konan. You want me to betray my clan?”

Konan sneered. “Would you really care about that?”

“Konan, you’ve misunderstood,” Itsuki sighed. “That’s an Uchiha. He’s like family to me… Um!”

Two more scrolls hit Itsuki.

Konan said flatly, “I’ll pay more.”

Itsuki stared dumbly at Konan. You’re quick! Not playing fair! Stealing my role as the one who ups the ante! I almost had it, and you beat me to it!

Unforgivable! Unforgivable!

Itsuki’s eyes glinted green with envy.

Konan said calmly, “These are two million.”

Two million…

There were a total of three million explosive tags! Itsuki’s breathing became heavy. These three mountains of gold were pressing down hard.

“You win!” Itsuki surrendered. “What do you want to know about the masked man?”

Konan asked slowly, “He claims to be Madara Uchiha.”

Konan was momentarily stunned. “So you mean he isn’t?”

Itsuki thought for a moment. “Konan, there’s no point in telling you too much.”

He said softly, “Even if I told you the solution, you wouldn’t do it.”

“Tell me first!”

“Destroy the Rinnegan!” Itsuki’s words made Konan’s pupils contract sharply.

“Impossible!” she almost yelled out.

“You see!” Itsuki shrugged. “I tell you the solution, and you don’t listen. What can I do?”

If it were the old Konan, she would have doubted Itsuki, thinking he had ulterior motives. But now, under Kotoamatsukami’s influence, she trusted Itsuki a lot.

“Why destroy the Rinnegan?” Konan asked, puzzled. “It’s the Sage’s eyes, our greatest trump card.”

“Exactly!” Itsuki smiled. “If it’s the Sage’s eyes, why would they be in a ‘human’s’ eye sockets? Don’t you think that’s problematic?”
