Orochimaru raised two fingers, “I’ll give you all the data, but there are two conditions.”
“Please, tell me!”
Orochimaru said, “First, you must share your research results with me. Second, I want you to gather information on all the ANBU members, including the Hokage’s personal guards.”
With no room to bargain, Hyuga Kyo could only nod in agreement.
That night, Hyuga Kyo received all the data on artificial-tailed beasts from the one-eyed viper.
This confirmed that Orochimaru had stolen most of the village’s forbidden techniques and research data before his defection, which likely prompted the village’s high-ranking officials to launch a brutal purge of Orochimaru’s former subordinates.
Unrolling the scroll that detailed the artificial-tailed beast experiment, Hyuga Kyo frowned deeply after a glance.
The complexity of creating an artificial-tailed beast far exceeded his expectations. There were over seven hundred intricate jutsu involved, many of which required sealing techniques so complicated that even Jonin-level ninjas would struggle to perform them.

Guy chose a common dog-faced mask.

After speaking, the Third Hokage clapped his hands lightly.
A figure landed beside the three.
The Third Hokage introduced, “This is Kakashi. He will be your team leader.”
Kakashi removed his fox-faced mask and said coldly, “I’m Kakashi, pleased to work with you.”
Hyuga Kyo, Guy, and Shisui also removed their masks and greeted Kakashi politely.
“There is a very troublesome mission right now,” the Third Hokage said, tapping his pipe on the desk. “A few days ago, the priestess of the Land of Demons requested our help in sealing a dangerous demon. This will be your first mission in the ANBU, classified as S-rank.”
Hyuga Kyo’s heart skipped a beat.
He had just thought of the demon “Moryo” yesterday, and today the Hokage assigned them a mission to seal the demon. He couldn’t tell if this was a coincidence or if the village had detected something.
The Third Hokage continued, “We don’t know the details of this mission, so you must hurry to the Land of Demons and rendezvous with the priestess. The Land of Demons might have requested help from other villages as well, so you must avoid conflicts with ninja from other villages.”
