Naruto World Through Tenseigan - Chapter 35
Hyuga Kyo recalled that the timeline of the demon Moryo’s havoc coincided with the current events, but such coincidences made the ever-cautious Kyo uneasy.
Seeing that Kyo was still lost in thought, Shisui asked, “Senpai, what do you think about this mission?”
Kyo, deep in thought, answered absentmindedly, “The Land of Demons is sandwiched between the Land of Wind and the Land of Earth. Given that this involves a foreign demon, the priestess will likely seek aid from Sunagakure and Iwagakure as well. So this mission will undoubtedly involve multiple ninja villages and will be very troublesome.”
Shisui, intrigued, said, “I wonder what kind of creature this foreign demon is!”
After a moment of consideration, Kyo decided to share some of his knowledge with his teammates. “From what I can deduce, the demon is at least of tailed beast level. Otherwise, the Hokage wouldn’t have classified the mission as S-rank.”
“A tailed beast level demon…” Shisui pondered for a moment before lowering his voice and saying, “Senpai, I have a technique that can temporarily counter a tailed beast, but using it would leave me almost completely drained.”
Kyo was taken aback by Shisui’s openness but quickly responded, “I suspected something unusual about your Sharingan during our duel yesterday.”
Shisui hesitated as if wanting to say something but holding back.
Kyo smiled, “You don’t need to explain. Everyone has secrets. As long as you don’t endanger the village, I won’t disclose your secret to anyone.”
Shisui sighed in relief and said sincerely, “Thank you!”
Kyo waved his hand dismissively, “Actually, I have a secret too. I also have a technique that can temporarily counter a tailed beast.”
Kyo wasn’t lying. The Third Kazekage, renowned as the strongest Kazekage, could suppress the One-Tail Shukaku. With the Third Kazekage Puppet in his possession, Kyo naturally could temporarily counter a tailed beast.
Shisui smiled, “I thought so. I sensed that you weren’t using your full strength yesterday!”
Sharing secrets is one of the best ways to build closer relationships. After a few brief exchanges, Kyo and Shisui’s relationship noticeably improved.
Of course, their bond was also strengthened by being elite clan members and possessing dojutsu.
At the front of the group, Kakashi glanced back before turning to Guy and saying, “Kyo seems to have gotten much stronger recently.”
Guy laughed, “You’re talking about Kyo? Haha, he’s a genius not inferior to you!”
“Yes, yes,” Kakashi replied half-heartedly, then lowered his head again, saying nothing more.
The successive blows of his father’s suicide and the deaths of his close friend and teacher had left Kakashi withdrawn and cold. He only spoke more when occasionally with his peers.
As the cream of the crop among Konoha’s new generation, Team Eleven moved swiftly, crossing the border and entering the perpetually rainy Land of Rain within a week.
In a cave, the four sat around a fire, discussing their next move.
The route to the Land of Demons passed through several smaller countries, such as the Land of Rain, the Land of Birds, and the Land of Bears. These countries were infested with rogue ninjas, so the route had to be chosen carefully to avoid unnecessary battles.
After a discussion, Kakashi, the team leader, finalized their route and put away the map.
Guy grumbled, “The weather in the Land of Rain is terrible. It’s raining all the time, and it makes everything sticky.”
Kakashi, fulfilling his duty as team leader, reminded them, “The Land of Rain may be small, but it has a ninja village. The man known as the ‘Demi-God’ is its leader, so we must be extra cautious here.”
Both Guy and Shisui nodded.
Hanzo of the Salamander was a renowned figure in the ninja world, and the title of “Sannin” was given to Konoha’s legendary trio by him.
Leaning against the drywall of the cave, Kyo pondered, “By this time, Hanzo should have been killed by Nagato, right?”
With Sasori and Orochimaru joining the Akatsuki one after another, it signaled the transition of leadership from Yahiko to Nagato.
Kyo recalled that Nagato’s first act as leader was avenging Yahiko by killing Hanzo and secretly taking control of the Land of Rain.
With Yahiko’s death, Nagato had lost his moral compass, and compared to the rampaging Moryo, the Akatsuki under Nagato was the true monster capable of destroying the ninja world.
Thinking about how the powerful ninja known as the ‘Demi-God’ Hanzo was quietly killed, Kyo sighed, “The ninja world is truly perilous.”
After safely traversing the Land of Rain, Team Eleven moved through the Land of Birds and the Land of Bears without incident.
They thought everything was going smoothly and that they would soon meet the priestess of the Land of Demons. However, as soon as they stepped into the Land of Demons, they encountered trouble.
Boom…
Amidst the roar, a thick cloud of dust slowly rose.
Guy retreated, panting and shouting, “Damn, these monsters just won’t die!”
In front of Team Eleven stood a group of sturdy stone soldiers.
These lifeless stone statues moved like living beings, forming ranks and charging at them as if harboring a deep-seated grudge.
Kakashi used his Chidori to destroy a few, and Guy’s taijutsu shattered some more. However, the broken soldiers quickly reassembled.
Seeing another shattered soldier reassemble, Kakashi frowned deeply, “They really seem indestructible!”
Kyo didn’t know much about these soldiers either, but it was clear they were just soulless puppets. He suggested, “There’s no point wasting time on these puppets. Let’s meet the priestess first!”
Team Eleven, knowing little about the current situation in the Land of Demons, agreed with Kyo’s proposal. They bypassed the slow-moving soldiers and rushed towards the heart of the Land of Demons.
Along the way, they saw scenes of devastation caused by the puppet soldiers.
Not just small villages but also markets and towns were ravaged, with heavy civilian casualties, shocking even the war-hardened members of Team Eleven.
Though they felt compassion, they knew it was better to rendezvous with the priestess and defeat the demon behind the scenes. Otherwise, the number of casualties would only increase.
Fortunately, the Land of Demons wasn’t large. After a few days of travel, Team Eleven finally approached the priestess’s palace…
