Naruto World Through Tenseigan - Chapter 37
“If you think you can, go ahead and try!”
Facing the elite Jonin squad leader of Iwagakure’s Decapitation Unit, Hyuga Kyo showed no fear. He took a step forward, radiating a palpable killing intent.
Hyuga Kyo understood why the Iwagakure ninja was provoking them. The impact of the Fourth Hokage’s and the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki’s unexpected deaths was still unfolding. While the relatively weaker Sunagakure and Kirigakure remained quiet, the stronger Kumogakure and Iwagakure were beginning to stir.
However, the more this was the case, the more Kyo felt he couldn’t back down.
Testing won’t stop just because one retreats. On the contrary, the more one retreats, the more intense the opponent’s probing will become!
Sensing Hyuga Kyo’s killing intent, the Iwagakure captain narrowed his eyes, his hand slowly moving to the hilt of his short sword. He realized that Kyo wasn’t bluffing.
On Kyo’s side, Kakashi, Guy, and Shisui immediately assumed combat stances, while the members of the Iwagakure Decapitation Unit also became alert.
In an instant, the atmosphere in the hall became extremely tense.
The priestess, seated on the cushion, stood up at the right moment and pleaded, “Dear ninjas, please set aside your differences for now. The otherworldly demon is nearly upon us!”
Both sides knew that internal conflict wasn’t a wise choice with the demon approaching, so they each took a step back, maintaining a temporary peace.
Pakura, who had been observing silently, asked the priestess, “Priestess, could you please explain the current situation to us?”
The priestess nodded, “What we are facing is a demon from another realm called ‘Moryo’. Shamefully, it was summoned by a cult from our country called the Cult of Jashin.”
“The barrier I set up can block Moryo and the stone soldier puppets it controls, but it can’t stop the cult members of the Cult of Jashin. So, when Moryo approaches, it will surely command those cult members to attack here.”
“Once Moryo breaks through here, it will be unstoppable, and the entire world will become a hell under its madness.”
After listening to the priestess’s explanation, everyone’s faces turned grim.
Although they hadn’t yet seen the demon itself, they had already dealt with those indestructible stone soldier puppets and knew that if they spread throughout the ninja world, the situation would become uncontrollable.
Kakashi asked directly, “Priestess, do you have any means to deal with the demon?”
The priestess, gently stroking the little girl resting on her lap, replied, “I can seal Moryo, but the sealing location must be the Sealing Demon Mountain in the Land of Marsh.”
Sealing the otherworldly demon was certainly good news, but the fact that the sealing location was the distant Sealing Demon Mountain in the Land of Marsh made things difficult.
Pakura, with one hand on her chest and the other supporting her chin, said, “Those stone soldier puppets outside aren’t the real problem. As long as we break through their encirclement, they are too slow to catch us.”
The captain of the Iwagakure Decapitation Unit nodded, “Yes, the real problem is the demon and the cult members.”
The Cult of Jashin’s members were originally a group of unremarkable ninjas, with their leader Jashin being only at Jonin level. However, after receiving power from Moryo, they now possessed an almost inexhaustible supply of evil chakra, allowing them to use Jutsu recklessly, including large-scale combination jutsu, making them significantly more dangerous.
Considering the potential chaos if they were pursued by the cult members on their way to the Sealing Demon Mountain, Pakura said with determination, “Instead of being ambushed by the demon and the Cult of Jashin on the way, we should take advantage of the barrier here that can block the demon and the stone soldier puppets, and first eliminate the Cult of Jashin before escorting the priestess to the Land of Marsh!”
The captain of the Iwagakure Decapitation Unit agreed, “We think the same.”
Kakashi nodded, “We have no objections.”
With the consensus among Konoha, Sunagakure, and Iwagakure, the priestess’s palace immediately mobilized, preparing for the imminent battle.
Due to his Byakugan and Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven, Hyuga Kyo, with both his keen insight and strong defense, was assigned to protect the priestess and her daughter within the temple.
Unlike the worried others, Kyo wasn’t too concerned about the current situation, his thoughts still lingering on the idea of an artificial-tailed beast.
As his understanding of his Tenseigan deepened, Kyo felt that the current limitation on his strength wasn’t anything else but his chakra reserves.
He had a vague sense that only by possessing a large amount of chakra could he unlock more of his Tenseigan’s abilities.
Think about Nagato with his Rinnegan. This point becomes understandable.
Nagato didn’t immediately gain the full power of the Rinnegan after Uchiha Madara transplanted it into him. It wasn’t until his parents were killed and he was strongly stimulated that he awakened part of Rinnegan’s power.
Later, when he matured and his body fully developed, and after the strong stimulation of his friend Yahiko’s death, he finally awakened all the abilities of the Rinnegan.
The price for this was a body that couldn’t bear the burden, becoming emaciated and frail.
Remember, Nagato was a chosen Uzumaki clan member by Uchiha Madara, a clan known for its robust life force and vast chakra reserves.
Yet even so, the mature Uzumaki Nagato couldn’t bear the fully awakened Rinnegan.
This was partly because the Rinnegan wasn’t originally his, but mostly due to the incredibly high requirements the Rinnegan placed on its user.
Kyo even suspected that his Tenseigan hadn’t awakened more abilities because it was instinctively protecting him, as his current body clearly couldn’t support a fully awakened Tenseigan.
That’s why he was so eager to pursue the creation of an artificial-tailed beast. He needed a source to continuously supply him with chakra. Only with abundant chakra could he safely and boldly explore the mysteries of the Tenseigan.
Otherwise, if he carelessly overexerted himself and ended up like Nagato, with his life force drained and his body emaciated like a ghost, it would not be worth it.
