Naruto World Through Tenseigan - Chapter 38
As for the demon Moryo currently ravaging the Land of Demons, there’s no denying that it’s a formidable threat, but nothing more than that.
The ninja world is filled with powerful individuals. Nagato, with his Rinnegan, alone would be enough to deal with Moryo. So even if the priestess fails to seal Moryo, it doesn’t stand a chance of truly dominating the ninja world.
Moreover, from Hyuga Kyo’s vague memories, this seemingly frail priestess of the Land of Demons possesses extremely powerful sealing techniques. If nothing has changed, it will be her self-sacrifice that successfully seals Moryo.
Reining in his wandering thoughts, Hyuga Kyo started making his plans.
After a moment, he glanced at the pink-cheeked little girl beside the priestess and asked, “Is she your daughter? What’s her name?”
Before the priestess could answer, the little girl chirped, “My name is Shion!”
The priestess smiled and gently stroked Shion’s head, looking dotingly at her.
Hyuga Kyo squatted down and playfully said to Shion, “Oh, so your name is Shion. That’s a lovely name.”
Shion stared directly at Hyuga Kyo, mustering the courage to ask, “Ninja big brother, your mask looks fun. Can I wear it?”
Hyuga Kyo smiled as he took off his eagle-faced mask and handed it to Shion.
Holding the mask, Shion laughed and jumped around the hall gleefully.
Watching the carefree Shion, a hint of sadness flashed across the priestess’s face.
From the priestess’s expression, Hyuga Kyo could tell that she had already made up her mind to seal Moryo even at the cost of her life.
He asked, “Your Highness, are you really confident in sealing that demon?”
The priestess bowed her head, “For everyone to live happily, I will definitely seal it. Definitely!”
“Even if it costs your life?”
The priestess looked puzzled at Hyuga Kyo, not understanding why he was asking this, but she still nodded firmly, “Yes, even if it costs my life!”
Boom…
A loud explosion suddenly came from outside the hall.
Undoubtedly, the battle outside had begun.
Calling Shion, who was running around the hall, back to her side, Hyuga Kyo retrieved his Anbu mask and stood guard in front of the priestess and her daughter.
Gradually, the explosions outside grew more frequent, causing the entire palace to tremble faintly. The shouts of enemies, cries of the guards, and the wails of the wounded mingled together.
Staring at the hall’s main entrance, Hyuga Kyo’s thoughts were elsewhere.
Whether this mission was a coincidence or some kind of probe from the Third Hokage, he decided not to miss this golden opportunity now that he was in the Land of Demons.
Having made up his mind, Hyuga Kyo whispered, “Shion is still so young. I suppose you don’t want her to grow up alone, do you?”
The priestess looked even more puzzled, “What do you mean?”
Hyuga Kyo said frankly, “The demon isn’t as strong as you think. At most, it’s on the level of a Tailed Beast. In the ninja world, there aren’t many ways to suppress a Tailed Beast, but there are some.”
Hearing the implication in Hyuga Kyo’s words, the priestess pondered.
Before she could speak, Hyuga Kyo stated his condition, “I need some special materials from the Land of Swamps. If you can help me gather them, I will do my utmost to protect you.”
The priestess didn’t mind paying extra, but she doubted that a fourteen or fifteen-year-old like Hyuga Kyo could truly suppress Moryo.
However, she had little choice at this point, so she asked, “What exactly do you need?”
Hyuga Kyo revealed his purpose, “Purple Clay!”
Purple Clay was not only expensive but also rare. If he collected it himself, it would take at least three to five years.
But if the well-regarded priestess of the Land of Demons helped, the task would be much simpler and less conspicuous, avoiding drawing attention to his plan to create an artificial Tailed Beast.
The priestess frowned slightly, “As far as I know, Purple Clay is a sealing material. What do you need it for?”
Hyuga Kyo didn’t answer the priestess’s question, only reaffirming, “As long as you help me gather Purple Clay, I will ensure your safety. I promise!”
This wasn’t an empty promise.
Whether it was his Third Kazekage Puppet or Shisui’s Susanoo, both could suppress a Tailed Beast temporarily, which should work against Moryo.
This would allow the priestess to calmly set up the seal without needing to perish with Moryo.
“Alright, I agree.”
Although Purple Clay was expensive, it wasn’t a rare treasure for the priestess of the Land of Demons, so she didn’t hesitate much.
After striking the deal, they both fell silent in mutual understanding.
Only the innocent Shion looked back and forth between her mother and Hyuga Kyo, puzzled about why they suddenly stopped talking.
Soon, several white-robed Jashin cultists broke into the hall.
Without hesitation, Hyuga Kyo used his Rotation Ruyi technique to pull in the intruders and swiftly took them down with Gentle Fist. The whole process took just a few seconds.
The priestess’s expression of panic had just surfaced when the enemies were already eliminated.
Having not even seen the enemies’ faces clearly, the priestess stared in astonishment for a moment before slowly exclaiming, “You truly are an exceptional ninja!”
“I promised I wouldn’t let anything happen to you,” Hyuga Kyo said, then added, “I also hope you will keep our agreement a secret.”
The priestess nodded gently, “Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.”
After a while, the commotion outside subsided.
Before long, the Konoha, Sunagakure, and Iwagakure ninjas returned to the hall, led by Pakura, who announced, “Most of the Jashin cultists have been dealt with. The remaining ones are no longer a threat.”
The captain of the Iwagakure Decapitation Unit added, “We can leave at any time.”
Kakashi nodded, not saying much.
Hyuga Kyo scanned the returning group. Although they looked a bit disheveled, none of them seemed seriously injured. This suggested that the battle outside had been intense but not particularly challenging.
This was expected, as the ninjas sent to support the Land of Demons from Konoha, Sunagakure, and Iwagakure were almost all elites. Dealing with the Jashin cultists, who were only at the Chunin level except for their chakra reserves, was relatively easy.
Suddenly recalling something, Hyuga Kyo asked, “What about the leader of the Jashin cult?”
Guy laughed heartily, “That guy took a solid hit from Kakashi’s Chidori. Although he managed to escape, I doubt he will survive.”
Hyuga Kyo vaguely remembered that a remnant of the Jashin cult triggered the revival of Moryo over a decade later. However, he wasn’t sure if that remnant was the same cult leader who had just escaped.
But it didn’t matter. Who knows what might happen in the next ten years?
