Naruto World Through Tenseigan - Chapter 39
Having severely injured the Jashin cult and resolved the issue of ninja harassment, the next step was to escort the priestess to Sealing Demon Mountain in the Land of Swamps.
Before departing, the priestess hid young Shion in a hidden chamber located at the bottom of the palace.
In the hidden chamber, no one knew what the priestess said to Shion, but it was clear that even with Hyuga Kyo’s guarantee, the priestess was still prepared to sacrifice herself on this journey to the Land of Swamps.
Once everything was ready, Pakura of the Sand Village, with her Scorch Release Kekkei Genkai, led the way. Konoha’s versatile Anbu Team Eleven was responsible for the priestess’s close protection, while Iwagakure’s Decapitation Unit, proficient in Earth Release, took up the rear.
Quickly, the group broke through the encirclement of puppet soldiers around the palace and rushed toward the Land of Swamps.
Along the way, the priestess both guided the team and sensed the movements of the demon Moryo from afar.
According to the priestess’s real-time sensing, the group was surprised to discover that the demon was moving very quickly, matching the speed of elite ninjas on the move.
Fortunately, during the previous battle with the Jashin cult, Moryo did not appear. Otherwise, if it had stayed outside the palace’s barrier, the breakout would have been extremely dangerous.
Seeing the distance between the group and Moryo gradually closing, the captain of the Iwagakure Decapitation Unit grew uneasy. “Hey, this isn’t going to work!”
He wasn’t the only one losing his composure.
Pakura from the Sand Village also nodded. “If we keep expending chakra at this rate, we won’t have the energy to fight the demon even if we reach Sealing Demon Mountain.”
Unlike the tireless Moryo, the ninjas’ chakra was depleting rapidly. If they couldn’t shake off Moryo soon, the situation would become increasingly dire.
As the captain of Team Eleven, Kakashi suggested, “Then let’s choose a suitable place to ambush it!”
The priestess, carried on Guy’s back, hesitated for a moment before saying, “I can set up a temporary sealing barrier. If it works, it might hold Moryo for a while.”
Pakura said, “Then we’ll leave it to you!”
With the plan decided, the group sprang into action.
The ambush location was a steep canyon with a winding river running through it.
With the group’s help, the priestess set up sealing techniques on the canyon’s cliffs.
The sealing techniques were incredibly complex. A mere glance would cause slight dizziness, and even with his Tenseigan, Hyuga Kyo felt a bit uncomfortable if he examined them closely, indicating their powerful effect.
Before long, the demon that had been pursuing them finally appeared.
Moryo looked like a cross between a dragon and a crocodile, with a dark purple body shrouded in a black, mist-like aura, obscuring most of its form.
Since the palace had been protected by the priestess’s barrier, Moryo and its puppet soldiers couldn’t approach, leaving the Jashin cultists to attack the palace and the priestess.
Now that the priestess had left the barrier’s protection, Moryo would no longer stand by.
“This… It’s so huge!”
The group gasped in unison as they gazed up at Moryo’s enormous and eerie body.
Although most of its body was hidden in the black mist, the visible part of its head suggested that Moryo’s size was comparable to a Tailed Beast, making it a true monster.
Pakura from the Sand Village frowned slightly, as dealing with large enemies was not her specialty.
Kakashi and Guy also looked alarmed. Seeing Moryo brought back bad memories of the Nine-Tails’ rampage in the village months earlier.
Undoubtedly, monsters like Tailed Beasts or Moryo, with their gigantic bodies, were nightmares for most ninjas. Even some Kage-level ninjas had no effective methods against such colossal creatures.
So, the group’s reaction to seeing Moryo was understandable.
Among the group, those who weren’t shocked were the priestess, who knew something about Moryo, and Hyuga Kyo, who had vague memories from his past life.
As for Shisui, with his Mangekyo Sharingan, he wasn’t particularly afraid of large monsters.
However, he was cautious about using his Mangekyo Sharingan techniques, as they were too conspicuous. Once exposed, it would be hard for the village leaders to tolerate him.
Seeing that Moryo had entered the ambush zone, Hyuga Kyo, who remained calm, shouted, “Begin the attack!”
The others quickly gathered their thoughts and launched their ambush as planned.
“Earth Release: Earth Flow River!”
“Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld!”
“Earth Release: Earth Style Wall!”
“Earth Release: Rock Avalanche!”
The four Iwagakure Decapitation Unit members on both sides of the canyon simultaneously formed seals and unleashed a series of Earth Release techniques.
In an instant, quicksand, mud, earth walls, and stone pillars descended from all directions, temporarily trapping Moryo in the canyon.
Roar…
A soul-stirring roar erupted from Moryo’s mouth, causing everyone’s spirits to waver.
The priestess warned, “Be careful, don’t get too close!”
Despite Moryo’s violent struggle, it quickly shattered the stone walls pressing on it, but it couldn’t immediately escape the swampy mud at its base.
“Scorch Release: Oversteam Kill!”
To prevent Moryo from escaping, Pakura used her trump card, attacking Moryo’s head and forcing it deeper into the mud.
At this moment, the priestess, who had been preparing, began to chant incantations.
As the priestess chanted, the sealing techniques on both sides of the canyon glowed faintly, forming a thin, barrier-like cocoon around Moryo.
Guy hurriedly asked, “Did we get it?”
The priestess nodded weakly.
Even a temporary sealing technique was quite draining for the priestess.
Kakashi didn’t waste any time, urging everyone, “Let’s move out! We don’t know how long this temporary seal will last. We need to get to Sealing Demon Mountain quickly!”
In an instant, the dispersed group reformed into a strike formation and headed toward Sealing Demon Mountain.
Boom…
Loud crashes continued to echo from behind. Moryo was struggling fiercely against the seal, and with each impact, the canyon trembled, indicating its tremendous strength.
The priestess, exhausted and carried on Guy’s back, weakly reminded the group, “Moryo can control minds. Do not get too close to it, or you will easily fall under its control and become its puppet!”
Hearing this, everyone’s scalp tingled.
No one wanted to deal with such a monster, but the situation left them no choice but to press on…
