Naruto World Through Tenseigan - Chapter 51
After leaving the Hokage’s office, the four members of Team Eleven each went home.
This S-rank mission took nearly two months, and after a series of battles, everyone was exhausted. Therefore, the Third Hokage granted Team Eleven a full two-week leave.
Upon returning home, Hyuga Kyo lay on his bed, reflecting on the Third Hokage’s reaction.
From the Third Hokage’s behavior, he could deduce that the mission in the Land of Demons was indeed a coincidence, with no element of suspicion or testing.
“It seems I was overthinking. If the Third Hokage truly suspected me of colluding with Orochimaru, he could have arrested me directly. There’s no need for such roundabout actions.”
With his mind at ease, Hyuga Kyo began to inventory the gains from the mission in the Land of Demons.
Obtaining a large amount of purple clay and mastering all the sealing techniques from the artificial-tailed beast data were undoubtedly his biggest gains from this mission.
In addition, forming a friendship with the priestess of the Land of Demons was also a significant gain.
One must not underestimate this priestess. Her call for help had forced major villages like Konoha, Iwagakure, and Sunagakure to respond immediately and dispatch their elite forces for support. This alone showed her considerable influence in the surrounding countries.
Establishing a personal connection with someone of such high status, even comparable to a daimyo, would greatly benefit Hyuga Kyo’s future endeavors. For instance, in his project to create an artificial-tailed beast, the priestess, a master of sealing techniques, could offer him valuable guidance and suggestions.
“The next issue is the chakra source for the artificial tailed beast.”
With this thought, Hyuga Kyo’s mind began to wander.
He vaguely remembered that Shinn?’s artificial-tailed beast, Zero-Tails, used the chakra of numerous ordinary villagers as its source. This made Zero-Tails’ chakra unstable and of poor quality. When it tried to absorb the high-intensity chakra of Naruto and Sasuke, it was easily overpowered and went berserk.
This lesson confirmed Orochimaru’s previous suggestion: the chakra source for an artificial-tailed beast should be singular.
While collective chakra from multiple people is vast, it is too unstable and prone to causing the artificial-tailed beast to go berserk under external stimuli.
But singular and massive chakra sources are rare in the entire ninja world.
This made Hyuga Kyo think of the Dragon Vein in the ruins of Roran in the Land of Wind. From what he remembered, the chakra of the Dragon Vein seemed gentle. Even an ordinary person like the queen of Roran could control it through her bloodline. More importantly, the Dragon Vein did not seem to have a strong self-awareness. With the right method, even someone without the queen’s bloodline could use the Dragon Vein’s chakra.
Using it as the chakra source for an artificial-tailed beast would significantly enhance the stability of the creation.
The only problem was that the Dragon Vein in the Roman ruins had been sealed by the Fourth Hokage years ago. To utilize its power, Hyuga Kyo would have to break the Fourth Hokage’s seal first.
“The Fourth Hokage probably used the Uzumaki clan’s sealing techniques, but which one exactly?”
Hyuga Kyo pondered.
Under the priestess’s guidance in the Land of Demons, he had learned the Uzumaki clan’s sealing techniques from the artificial-tailed beast data. However, this did not mean he was proficient in them.
He currently could not use any Uzumaki clan sealing techniques, let alone forbidden techniques like the Reaper Death Seal.
What he had learned was merely replicating the Uzumaki clan’s pre-designed sealing techniques as required by the artificial-tailed beast data.
As for the chakra manipulation and hand signs required for these sealing techniques, he knew nothing. The data had no relevant records, either because they were never there or were erased by Orochimaru.
Hyuga Kyo thought to himself, “It seems I need to visit the Roran ruins.”
Only by going there personally, could he accurately determine which sealing technique the Fourth Hokage had used and then devise a way to break it.
Additionally, he thought about the bloodline of the Roran queen. It seemed to have a significant influence on the Dragon Vein. When breaking the Fourth Hokage’s seal, it might be wise to have her present to prevent any unexpected situations.
After a good night’s sleep, Hyuga Kyo didn’t idle the next morning. He gathered some equipment and headed straight for the Forest of Death on the outskirts of the village.
The battle with Iwamado made him realize the importance of poison.
He regretted not continuously applying poison to the iron sand controlled by the Third Kazekage puppet like Sasori did. As a result, even if he severely injured his enemies, they often weren’t killed.
Unlike Sasori, who could kill his enemies with even a minor scratch, thanks to his potent poisons.
Hyuga Kyo was no stranger to using poison.
His summon, the one-eyed viper, had very strong venom. However, after several wars, particularly after the rise of the poison expert Hanzo the Salamander, all the major villages began developing and preparing for poisons.
As a result, simple snake venom was no longer as effective on the battlefield. Hence, Hyuga Kyo needed to collect other venomous creatures to create complex poisons.
Upon entering the Forest of Death, Hyuga Kyo was flooded with memories.
He was quite familiar with this place. Before graduating, the Ninja Academy often organized practical training sessions here for students about to become genin. So, while he wasn’t familiar with every blade of grass and tree, he had a good understanding of the area’s general layout.
The Forest of Death had many venomous creatures, mainly snakes, scorpions, spiders, centipedes, moths, and mice. His goal was to collect the venom sacs and glands from these creatures.
After nearly an hour of searching through the treetops, Hyuga Kyo finally made a discovery.
By a small pond, a cobra was facing off against a small wild boar.
Hyuga Kyo smiled at the boar, “You’re lucky today!”
With that, he threw a shuriken, pinning the cobra’s head to the ground with precision.
Landing on the ground, he skillfully dissected the snake, extracting one of the two venom sacs and discarding the rest of the snake’s body.
Just then, the small wild boar that had run away earlier came back, grabbed the snake’s body, and tried to run off.
Hyuga Kyo was taken aback, and then shouted, “Hey, that’s poisonous! Are you really a pig!?”
