Naruto World Through Tenseigan - Chapter 60
Shisui didn’t think too much about it and immediately detailed the hand seals and chakra control method for the Shadow Clone Technique to Hyuga Kyo. With just a brief attempt, Hyuga Kyo largely grasped the technique.
Given his current amount of chakra, mastering a B-rank ninjutsu posed no difficulty. Moreover, with his Tenseigan, he could observe the chakra flow inside Shisui when he demonstrated the technique. Even the dullest person could learn the Shadow Clone Technique by mimicking exactly what they saw.
This was one of the conveniences for dojutsu users when learning ninjutsu.
Future Kakashi earned titles like “Konoha’s Number One Technician” and “Copy Ninja” largely due to the Sharingan gifted to him by Obito.
The Third Hokage had given Team 11 only three hours to prepare, so after mastering the Shadow Clone Technique, Hyuga Kyo and Shisui returned home to prepare for their secret mission.
Considering that this was an almost war-like intense conflict, and their opponent was the equally formidable Kumogakure, Hyuga Kyo didn’t dare to be careless.
He brought double the amount of throwing weapons like shuriken, kunai, and senbon. What he couldn’t carry, he sealed in storage scrolls.
He prepared 500 explosive tags, which were all the ones he had saved since becoming a special Jonin.
One bottle of paralyzing toxin, two antidotes, three rolls of medical bandages, and one bottle of soldier pills.
By the time Hyuga Kyo was ready to leave, his ninja tool pouches were bulging.
At the door, he encountered a hurriedly arriving Rin.
Hyuga Kyo smiled warmly, “Why are you in such a rush?”
Seeing Hyuga Kyo’s fully armed appearance, Rin bit her lip, “Be… be careful!”
Rin had many things she wanted to say, but all that came out was a single “be careful.”
Hyuga Kyo patted Rin’s head, a slight smile forming on his lips, “I’m a Jonin now, you know. It’s not me who needs to be careful, but those Kumogakure ninjas.”
Feeling Hyuga Kyo’s confidence, Rin relaxed a little. She then took out a beautifully crafted short sword and handed it to Hyuga Kyo, “The clan head asked me to give this to you.”
With a metallic clang, Hyuga Kyo drew the short sword from its sheath, and a clear, ringing sound emanated from the blade.
Even the warm sunlight couldn’t dispel the cold aura lingering on the dagger. Just a glance at the sharp edge made one’s back feel prickly.
Hyuga Kyo couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a sword!”
Rin continued, “The clan head said this short sword is called ‘Grass S-Maru.’ It’s a chakra sword with the special ability to prevent wounds from healing.”
“Grass S-Maru!?” Hyuga Kyo was slightly startled and thought, “Could this be one of the many Grass Swords?”
Hyuga Kyo was a bit surprised but not shocked by the sudden gift from Hyuga Hiashi.
His status had changed significantly.
As a direct subordinate of the Hokage’s Anbu, he could meet the Hokage anytime and participate in village affairs. Recently, he had also defeated Uchiha Jinichi and Uchiha Shun, raising his prestige. Among the younger generation of the Hyuga clan, he was undoubtedly a standout.
If clan head Hiashi didn’t try to win him over, it would be a dereliction of his duty as a leader.
The decline of the Hyuga clan was already evident. While they had many Jonin, the number of elite Jonin was few. Among the younger generation, apart from the rising star Hyuga Kyo, there were no other notable figures.
Thus, the Hyuga clan’s low profile wasn’t just a matter of style but also related to the overall decline in their strength.
Hyuga Kyo was surprised only by the value of the gift, making him realize that a prestigious clan with a millennium-long heritage still had considerable resources.
After parting with Rin, Hyuga Kyo arrived at Team 11’s meeting point.
Shisui and Gai were already there, but Kakashi was nowhere to be seen.
They waited for a long time before Kakashi finally showed up.
Gai curiously asked, “What took you so long?”
Kakashi, looking apologetic, said, “I just visited the memorial stone. Sorry to keep everyone waiting.”
Hearing this, Hyuga Kyo frowned.
Kakashi visiting the memorial stone before a secret mission gave him a bad feeling. It seemed that the mission assigned by the Third Hokage was no ordinary task.
As the departure time approached, they didn’t chat much and set off immediately.
On the way, Hyuga Kyo cautiously asked, “What is our mission?”
Shisui and Gai also looked at Kakashi, who was leading the way.
The mission scroll issued by the Third Hokage was held by the team leader, so only Kakashi knew the details of this secret mission.
Kakashi shook his head, “I can’t say yet.”
To prevent information leaks, the details of many missions were only disclosed when the team was close to the mission site.
The more secretive it was, the more Hyuga Kyo felt that this mission wasn’t simple. It might not be just about stopping the Kumogakure invasion. If it were, there wouldn’t be a need for such secrecy.
Over the next week, Team 11 traveled around, avoiding the invading Kumogakure forces and approaching the border of the Land of Hot Water.
By then, the team had guessed that their mission might be carried out in enemy territory.
Team leader Kakashi no longer concealed anything and spread out a map on the ground, pointing to a red dot on it, “This is it. This is our mission target.”
The red dot on the map was located at the border of the Land of Lightning and the Land of Moon, seemingly in a valley with complex terrain.
Kakashi continued, “This is a secret warehouse of Kumogakure, storing a large amount of ninja tools and food. If we destroy it, Kumogakure’s offensive in our Land of Fire will be forced to slow down.”
Shisui immediately asked, “What about the enemy’s defenses?”
Kakashi shook his head silently and, after a long pause, replied, “The intelligence division only discovered the location. They couldn’t scout the defenses, so we have to prepare for the worst.”
For an important warehouse, it wouldn’t be surprising if Kumogakure stationed a hundred ninjas to guard it.
With only four members in Team 11, despite their strength, they would be at a significant disadvantage in enemy territory.
Hyuga Kyo couldn’t help but mutter inwardly, “No wonder the Third Hokage was suddenly so generous…”
