Naruto World Through Tenseigan - Chapter 63
“Damn you, kid…”
As the Kumogakure Jonin’s chest was completely slashed open, blood sprayed out, and his voice grew weaker. Eventually, he collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
Hyuga Kyo staggered a few steps before collapsing to the ground, panting heavily.
Around him lay the bodies of over a dozen Kumogakure ninjas, the area in complete disarray, evidence of a fierce battle.
After catching his breath, Hyuga Kyo examined his body and then sighed in relief.
Though he had multiple wounds, none were fatal. Only the penetrating wound on his left shoulder was severe, but it didn’t hinder his ability to wield a sword with his right hand.
“Thanks to you!”
Muttering to himself, Hyuga Kyo sheathed his Grass S-Maru.
This time, the Grass S-Maru and the paralyzing poison had been invaluable in helping him eliminate more than a dozen Kumogakure ninjas at such a small cost.
One of the leading Kumogakure Jonin, unaware of Grass S-Maru’s properties, had tried to block the sword infused with Tenseigan chakra with a regular kunai. Hyuga Kyo killed him in one strike, significantly weakening the enemy’s strength and morale, and laying the foundation for his final victory.
After a quick patch-up of his wounds, Hyuga Kyo didn’t delay any further. He immediately headed to the designated rendezvous point. After all, lingering any longer in the Land of Lightning would only increase the danger.
Soon, Hyuga Kyo arrived at the rendezvous point pre-arranged by Team 11.
Gai and Shisui, who had arrived first, greeted him. “You’re finally here. We thought something had happened to you.”
Hyuga Kyo replied, “It took a bit of effort to deal with the enemies.”
Shisui nodded. “I noticed earlier that you drew away the most enemies, senpai.”
Hyuga Kyo glanced at Gai and Shisui, asking casually, “How did it go on your ends?”
Gai and Shisui briefly recounted their experiences.
Gai had drawn away only eight Chunin and Genin, and after a fierce battle, he successfully eliminated all the pursuing Kumogakure ninjas.
Among the twelve Kumogakure ninjas pursuing Shisui, there was a Jonin. However, Jonin was caught in Shisui’s genjutsu from the start. By the time he broke free, his Chunin and Genin teammates had been killed. Without their support, he was no match for Shisui in a one-on-one fight and soon fell to Shisui’s blade.
After listening, Hyuga Kyo frowned. “So, the three of us only dealt with just over fifty enemies?”
More importantly, of these fifty-plus Kumogakure ninjas, only three were Jonin. The majority were just cannon fodder, Genin meant to deplete the enemy’s chakra.
Gai said worriedly, “Yes, I’m very concerned about Kakashi. How can he handle so many enemies alone?”
Shisui stood silently to the side.
The situation was clear. Given Kakashi’s strength, facing over a hundred Kumogakure ninjas alone had no chance of success. Even if he managed to destroy the secret warehouse, he would have no hope of escaping.
Gai looked towards the valley, his voice resolute. “I’m going back to help him.”
Shisui opened his mouth but couldn’t find the words.
All three members of Team 11 were injured, their chakra more than half depleted. Even if they retreated immediately, they might not evade the pursuing Kumogakure forces and safely return to the Land of Fire.
Let alone turning back to assault the valley, which would be tantamount to suicide.
Hyuga Kyo also looked towards the valley, his eyes filled with hesitation…
In the valley.
Glancing at the burning Kumogakure secret warehouse, Kakashi, crouched and clutching his injured shoulder in a pool of blood, showed a relieved smile.
“Finally completed the mission.”
“And no more comrades will die because of me.”
Swish, swish, swish…
At that moment, more and more Kumogakure ninjas arrived using the Body Flicker Technique, surrounding Kakashi densely, trapping him completely.
The leading Kumogakure Jonin, with a cold expression, said, “Konoha ninja, state your name!”
Despite his anger, the Jonin was impressed by Kakashi’s determined assault, so he wanted to know his name before killing him.
Kakashi raised his head, looking at his opponent.
But due to severe blood loss, his vision blurred, only faintly perceiving the flickering flames and the vague figures of the surrounding Kumogakure ninjas.
At that moment, he felt a sense of déjà vu, as if he had seen this scene before.
“It seems familiar…”
“Oh, right, it was during the Battle of Kannabi Bridge. I was surrounded by so many people then too…”
“Too bad, Sensei is gone now. No one will come to save me this time…”
“Obito, Rin, I’m finally going to see you…”
“Hehe, this ending doesn’t seem so bad…”
Kakashi felt his strength ebbing away, his thoughts drifting farther and farther, seemingly breaking free from his body’s constraints.
Seeing Kakashi’s mind start to wander, the leading Kumogakure Jonin shook his head and sighed, then signaled to his subordinate to finish the job.
A Kumogakure Chunin, holding a kunai, slowly approached Kakashi.
But when he reached Kakashi, he hesitated to strike.
The leading Jonin, impatient, urged, “What are you waiting for? Finish him off quickly. We still need to hunt down the other Konoha ninjas!”
The secret warehouse was destroyed. If they couldn’t kill all the infiltrating Konoha ninjas, even a senior Jonin like him couldn’t escape the Raikage’s punishment.
The Chunin stared at Kakashi’s Sharingan in his left eye socket, stammering, “But his eye…”
At that moment, a figure flashed, instantly slashing the Chunin in front of Kakashi. Two more figures quickly joined, landing beside Kakashi.
Flicking the blood off his Grass S-Maru, Hyuga Kyo stood protectively in front of Kakashi and said calmly, “Gai, carry Kakashi and get out of here!”
Gai hesitated, but seeing Kakashi’s dazed state, unable to retreat on his own, he reluctantly carried him on his back and said to Hyuga Kyo and Shisui, “I’ll get him to safety and come back immediately!”
Shisui smiled and shook his head. “No need. You take him back to the village. We can handle this.”
Gai protested, “But…”
Hyuga Kyo, with a stern face, shouted, “Get out of here before I change my mind!”
