Naruto World Through Tenseigan - Chapter 8
Over a decade of life in this world had caused the memories of his past life to become distant and blurred, so Hyuga Kyo couldn’t clearly recall whether Otsutsuki Toneri needed to use hand seals to enter the Tenseigan Chakra Mode.
“If it requires hand seals, then what seals should be formed? What is the chakra flow pattern within the body?”
In his confusion, Hyuga Kyo felt awkward about needing more proper guidance.
It was like having a treasure mountain but being unable to access it!
Reflecting on figures like Obito, Nagato, Itachi, and the Fourth Hokage, Hyuga Kyo realised they had all received extensive training and guidance from Kage-level mentors, inheriting various legacies.
And he had nothing!
Hyuga Kyo wasn’t one to wallow in self-pity. Once he identified a problem, he sought to solve it.
The most appropriate legacy would undoubtedly be Hamura Otsutsuki’s on the moon. However, Hyuga Kyo currently had no way to reach the moon. Besides, the presence of Toneri Otsutsuki and the giant Tenseigan formed from numerous Byakugan made this legacy temporarily out of reach.
The Hyuga clan’s central family might hold some hidden secrets worth Hyuga Kyo’s attention.
Orochimaru’s research capabilities were among the best in the world, so maintaining contact with him was crucial for further advancement in strength.
However, Hyuga Kyo felt the nature of their collaboration needed to change.
Continuing to be a spy and a puppet without autonomy had no future. He needed to elevate his status from a subordinate to a collaborator to benefit from the relationship.
This involved another issue: strength. In the ninja world, the weak had no right to negotiate with the strong.
After thoroughly adjusting his mindset, Hyuga Kyo began evaluating his current combat strength.
In terms of chakra levels, he undoubtedly reached Jonin’s standards. Combined with the Tenseigan’s unparalleled insight, Gentle Fist, and the unpredictable Revolving Wish, he believed he could defeat a special Jonin. However, facing a true Jonin, he would most likely end up dead.
But that was just for now.
With more experience and further development of the Tenseigan, Hyuga Kyo believed his strength would soon reach Jonin, even elite Jonin levels.
At that point, he would have the right to negotiate with Orochimaru.
After contemplating the future, Hyuga Kyo refocused on the present.
He was still part of the village’s purge plan, and his strength was far from being able to challenge the town. Therefore, protecting himself without revealing the Tenseigan was his immediate priority.
Upon returning to the outpost, Mitsui Nakaji called Hyuga Kyo over and coldly instructed, “Prepare yourself. There’s a mission tomorrow.”
Hyuga Kyo’s expression grew serious, “What mission?”
Mitsui Nakaji said, “I’ll lead the team personally. The specifics will be revealed on the way.”
Hyuga Kyo wanted to refuse but, after some thought, nodded in agreement.
He knew that due to his ‘illness,’ he had already escaped one round of the purge. Now that he had recovered, there was no way to avoid it any longer.
The next day.
Fully armed, Hyuga Kyo and Mitsui Nakaji set out. Because Anko was still injured, only the two of them participated in this mission.
On the way, Mitsui Nakaji briefly explained the mission.
Like the mission Anko and Ota had undertaken, it involved meeting a spy planted in the Sand Village to retrieve information collected by the spy.
After hearing the mission briefing, Hyuga Kyo was sure that this mission was a trap to eliminate him.
But he remained calm, thinking to himself, “Who will be the one to make a move? Root? ANBU? Or someone from the Sand Village?”
If it was Root, then Danzo was likely behind the purge. If it was ANBU, then the Third Hokage was probably responsible. But if it were the Sand Shinobi, the situation would be more complicated.
If it were the Sand Shinobi, it would indicate an agreement between the village and the Sand Village.
In other words, this would no longer be an internal matter but one between villages, with the entire Konoha leadership likely involved.
As they rushed forward, Hyuga Kyo analysed the situation he would soon face.
“To deal with a wartime-promoted Chunin like me, they wouldn’t need to send Jonin. The opponent is likely a four-man squad of Chunin.”
“Because I’m from the Hyuga clan, they wouldn’t set an ambush, which would reveal their intentions too early.”
“They would probably strike from all directions once I reach the meeting point, launching a full-scale attack. Or, they might disguise themselves as the contact and strike when I’m off guard!”
“What role will Mitsui Nakaji play? Will he just lure me into the trap, or will he also participate in the attack?”
With the Tenseigan’s power, Hyuga Kyo’s mindset was changing. Previously, he only wanted to survive. Now, he had greater ambitions and desires.
And thanks to the Tenseigan, he felt confident. After discarding fear and confusion, he precisely analysed the possible scenarios he might face.
After a long journey.
Mitsui Nakaji and Hyuga Kyo arrived at the meeting point, a rocky desert area where everything was visible at a glance. It didn’t seem like a suitable location for a covert meeting.
In the distance stood a lone figure, blurred by the wind and sand.
Focusing his gaze, Hyuga Kyo immediately noticed that the person contained a significant amount of chakra, far exceeding that of a typical Chunin.
Additionally, he saw several bodies of Sand Shinobi lying near the figure.
This eerie scene made Hyuga Kyo feel the danger. He stopped and said in a low voice, “Captain, something doesn’t feel right.”
Mitsui Nakaji also frowned deeply. Clearly, the situation was different from what he had expected.
But without Hyuga Kyo’s sharp insight, Mitsui Nakaji couldn’t assess the stranger’s strength or see the bodies half-buried in the sand.
After hesitating, Mitsui Nakaji ordered, “Let’s go over.”
As the captain, Mitsui Nakaji’s order left Hyuga Kyo no choice but to follow him slowly towards the stranger.
Moments later, they stood before the stranger.
The stranger was fully cloaked in a grey-brown robe, with a cloth mask covering his face, revealing only a pair of bright eyes. However, the gaze from these eyes was unsettling, like a beast watching its prey.
Only now did Mitsui Nakaji notice the bodies of Sand Shinobi near the stranger, his expression turning grim. “Who… who are you?”
The stranger slowly removed his hood and mask, tilting his head with a mocking smile. “Oh, so they were waiting for you.”
“The Red Sand Scorpion!?”
