Ninja School Teacher, I Can Become Stronger by Teaching - Chapter 86
“Right, Mokutsuki-sensei, does the second stage also require an entry fee?” Obito suddenly remembered an important detail.
“The first time you pass the first stage, you can challenge the second stage for free. Normally, the fee is the same as the first stage,” Mokutsuki explained.
“First time is free, huh? That’s great,” Obito said, relieved. It meant he wouldn’t have to do three more test papers.
“Mokutsuki-sensei, let’s start quickly,” Obito urged, eager to begin.
Mokutsuki led Obito to the riverbank and explained, “This river is only fifteen meters wide. You need to cross it within ten seconds without falling into the water.”
After explaining, Mokutsuki created over ten shadow clones and positioned them by the river, ready to use jutsu.
Initially, Obito was excited upon hearing that he had ten whole seconds to cross a mere fifteen meters. But seeing Mokutsuki create so many shadow clones made him uneasy, suspecting something challenging was coming.
The sight of over ten Mokutsuki synchronizing their hand signs quickly filled the river with large water dragons moving rapidly back and forth, almost covering the entire river surface.
Obito was stunned by the sheer number of water dragons. “Is this really just a minor interference?”
Seeing the river almost completely blocked by the water dragons, Obito wondered how he would find space to move.
“Are you ready, Obito? I’ll start the timer when you are,” Mokutsuki called out, maintaining his jutsu.
“I’m ready. Let’s start,” Obito responded nervously.
Having agreed to the challenge, Obito had no choice but to go through with it. His mind raced, trying to figure out how to tackle the second stage.
While he had trained to run on water while dodging water dragons, the number of water dragons for this challenge was on a completely different level.
During training, there was usually only one water dragon on the river, and he just needed to avoid the waves it created. But this challenge almost filled the river with water dragons, making it hard to even find a spot to step on.
“Start!” Mokutsuki shouted while maintaining the jutsu.
Upon hearing the start signal, Obito rushed into the river filled with water dragons. He hoped that charging forward with his eyes closed might just get him across the fifteen meters.
But Mokutsuki’s challenges were designed to be passed by someone other than luck.
Obito barely advanced three meters before a fast-moving water dragon knocked him into the river, making him gulp down a mouthful of water.
“Unfortunately, you failed the challenge,” Mokutsuki said, stopping the jutsu and quickly pulling Obito out of the river.
“Mokutsuki-sensei, this challenge is too difficult! How am I supposed to get past all those water dragons?” Obito complained, feeling he had barely started before failing.
“You have plenty of time, ten whole seconds. Why not stop and observe the water dragons’ movements before acting?” Mokutsuki suggested.
Obito, who often acted before thinking, would learn from his mistake this time.
“Then I’ll try again,” Obito decided, feeling that he had been too hasty.
“If you want to retry, it’ll cost you an entry fee of one hundred test papers. Are you sure you want to challenge now?” Mokutsuki asked with a smile.
Thinking about the three test papers he had just received yesterday, Obito decided to wait. The challenge was difficult, and failure meant another hundred test papers.
“Let’s start training then. Today, I’ll teach you a special chakra control technique to increase your speed. Mastering it should help you pass the river sprint,” Mokutsuki said.
“Mokutsuki-sensei, you’re like the Sage of Six Paths to me!” Obito exclaimed, excited by the prospect of success.
“Then train well,” Mokutsuki said, gently knocking Obito on the head.
“I’ve always trained hard,” Obito replied with a grin.
Mokutsuki began explaining part of the Shunshin technique to Obito.

At 3:30 PM, Mokutsuki started the first strength test. Instead of asking teachers from the ninja academy for help, Mokutsuki used shadow clones to score each group.
“Gangzitie,” a shadow clone called out, holding a form.
Hearing his name, Gangzitie quickly stepped forward. He demonstrated his mastery of the Clone Jutsu, Transformation Jutsu, and Substitution Jutsu, then performed a set of taijutsu moves before throwing shuriken at targets thirty meters away.
“A bit of progress. Keep it up,” Mokutsuki said after scoring him.
“Thank you, Mokutsuki-sensei,” Gangzitie replied, pleased with the praise.
“Kamizuki Izumo,” Mokutsuki called next.
Kamizuki Izumo stepped forward and showcased his skills. Mokutsuki noted that his progress was similar to Gangzitie’s, confirming their close training bond.
“Anko Mitarashi,” Mokutsuki called.
Anko jogged up, greeting Mokutsuki with a bright smile before demonstrating her skills.
Watching Anko’s performance, Kamizuki Izumo and Gangzitie felt a bit nervous but relaxed after seeing her results. While stronger than them, she was likely to wait to jump to the B group.
“Izumo, we’ll shine in the next combat test!” Gangzitie said, thinking of their perfected distraction technique.
“Yes, with Ebisu-senpai’s genius idea, we’ll sweep the C group,” Kamizuki Izumo agreed.
“It’s a pity Ebisu-senpai doesn’t want credit for the idea,” Gangzitie sighed.
“We can’t let his contribution go unnoticed. If we win, we’ll make sure he shares the glory,” Kamizuki Izumo stated.
“You’re right, Izumo. Otherwise, I’d have made a mistake,” Gangzitie said, patting Kamizuki Izumo’s shoulder as they both smiled.
