“As long as I reach that place, I can reduce the number of questions!” Obito sprinted at full speed, his eyes reddening as he stared at the finish line.
He had never wanted to reach a place so badly.
If someone asked Obito right now where he most wanted to go, he would undoubtedly answer the finish line of the race.
Guy’s route was more extended than Obito’s, so Obito couldn’t see him at the moment.
However, Obito soon noticed the noise from Guy’s rapid running, indicating that Guy was closing the distance.
Obito knew he was slower than Guy, and if he got caught up, there would only be one outcome: defeat.
Gritting his teeth, Obito recalled the chakra technique Mokutsuki had taught him to increase his speed, concentrating more chakra in his legs to try to accelerate further.
“Surpass him, surpass everyone, become the strongest!” Guy felt his whole body burning as he pushed forward at high speed, striving to close the gap with Obito.
At this moment, all he could see was the finish line and Obito not far ahead.
Both were giving their all and as they neared the finish line, they were almost side by side.
Swoosh!
Suddenly, Guy’s figure disappeared from Obito’s side and appeared at the finish line.
When Obito reached the finish line, he collapsed to the ground, filled with endless regret.
Obito couldn’t help but punch the ground a few times. He had just received a hundred questions yesterday, and today, he would get dozens more. He was back to the days of doing questions in installments.
He was furious!
“Obito, exceeding your limit by half a second reduces five questions, leaving thirty-five.”
“Guy, reaching the finish line first and exceeding your limit by one second means no questions this time,” Mokutsuki announced the results.
Hearing that he didn’t have to ask any questions, Guy smiled and celebrated with a fist pump.
Mokutsuki used his identification technique on Guy and saw that the recent race had increased Guy’s proficiency in Soru by three points.
“When pressured, one might not excel in math, but they certainly learn jutsu faster,” Mokutsuki thought, nodding in approval.
The race had been compelling; both had surpassed their previous records.
“Have some water and take a rest,” Mokutsuki said, helping Obito up, dusting him off, and handing him a bottle of water while opening another for Guy.
“At this rate, Obito, you’ll be able to pass the river sprint challenge by the end of this week,” Mokutsuki said.
Life had too many hardships, so Mokutsuki liked to give hope to those who were down.
Obito took the water, drank half of it in one gulp, and felt revitalized.
“Guy, you may have won today, but don’t celebrate too early. Tomorrow, I’ll reach the finish line first!” Obito wanted Guy to share in his suffering.
“Haha, full of spirit, but the first to the finish line will always be me, Might Guy!” Guy gave Obito a thumbs-up.
Mokutsuki stood with his hands behind his back, pleased to see his disciples’ competitive spirit.
He regretted that Shisui couldn’t join such harmonious and friendly training for now, partly due to his higher skill level and also because Shisui’s theoretical knowledge was strong, making him unafraid of asking questions. Plus, Shisui had learned Shadow Clone, which could help with the questions.
…
On Tuesday, Mokutsuki conducted classes as usual.
Having thoroughly mastered the rhythm of large classes, Mokutsuki could now control the course rating to decide whether to gain chakra or jutsu.
In the morning, Mokutsuki chose to accumulate chakra; in the afternoon, he focused on learning new jutsu.
“You’ve actually done a rare good deed. Mokutsuki-sensei is indeed much better at foundational teaching than the guidance jonin,” Binzokuraitou said, watching the B-group students master tree climbing and water walking under Mokutsuki’s guidance.
“Those who didn’t sign up will probably regret it.”
Binzokuraitou felt a bit envious of the students. If he had such a capable teacher during his school years, he would have been much stronger now.
“Brother, when have I ever steered you wrong? Just trust me,” Asuma patted Binzokuraitou’s shoulder.
“And Mokutsuki-sensei is skilled in more than just the basics. Anything he knows, he can teach well.”
“How do you know?” Binzokuraitou didn’t get it at first, then remembered. He playfully punched Asuma in the chest, saying, “I almost forgot he’s your private tutor.”
If Binzokuraitou were an average player, Asuma was the equivalent of a premium player.
Asuma chuckled, knowing Binzokuraitou’s thoughts. If his tutor weren’t Mokutsuki, he would’ve dismissed him long ago.
“Although Mokutsuki-sensei is great at teaching, the pressure here is high. It’s embarrassing to be outdone by students,” Kurenai said, showing a troubled expression.
She felt a bit ashamed to be surpassed by students.
“No worries, Kurenai. We’ll work hard together and aim to get two of the top three spots,” Asuma quickly said.
“What, you don’t think I can compete?” Binzokuraitou raised an eyebrow.
Asuma wished Shisui would appear and kick this annoying third wheel away. Couldn’t he read the room?
But instead of Shisui, Mokutsuki arrived and gave them some guidance.
Busy times flew by, and soon, it was time to finish class.
**[Completed a large class session]**
**[Rating: A]**
**[Reward: Wind Release: Vacuum Sphere, Earth Release: Earth Flow River]**
Both jutsu were decent, and Mokutsuki was pleased with today’s rewards.
Returning to the main area, Mokutsuki ran into Minato and Kushina, who were heading out.
“Hey, Mokutsuki, we’re off to a meeting. Save some food for us,” Kushina called out, waving to Mokutsuki.
Minato looked at Mokutsuki with a bit of helplessness. He was about to tell Mokutsuki not to worry about cooking for them today.
“I’ll cook a larger portion and save some for you. You can eat when you return,” Mokutsuki said, understanding Minato’s look and smiling warmly.
If a little extra cooking could earn goodwill, it was well worth it.
Minato and Kushina returned earlier than expected. Just as Mokutsuki was about to leave to train his disciples, they knocked on his door.
Mokutsuki decided to delay his departure. He had a permanent shadow clone at the training ground, ensuring no disruption to the basic training.
Having a meeting during mealtime meant it was no small matter.
“Those savages from the Land of Lightning are despicable. They took advantage of Suna’s leaderless state to mobilize an army and attack,” Kushina complained as soon as she entered, giving Mokutsuki a clear picture of what had happened.
The gears of the Third Shinobi World War had officially begun to turn.
