- Chapter 99 - Differences in Breathing Effects
Unable to hold it in, Ebisu went straight to find Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki.
“Big brother Ebisu!” Upon seeing Ebisu, Kotetsu and Izumo greeted him warmly.
Despite their respectful demeanor, Ebisu couldn’t help but suppress his anger and asked, “Did you two spread rumors about me?”
Kotetsu shook his head and said, “How could that be? Big brother Ebisu, you’ve taught us so much. Why would we speak ill of you?”
“Yeah, big brother Ebisu, have you been misled by someone else’s slander?” Izumo analyzed.
“Now all three groups are saying that your new ‘Seduction Jutsu’ was my idea. What’s going on?” Ebisu said, face darkened.
“We never said that,” both shook their heads. They only said Ebisu had a significant role in it.
“Let’s not talk about unhappy things, big brother Ebisu. Let me show you something nice.” Kotetsu signaled for Ebisu to come closer and pulled out a novel.
“This novel was indispensable in perfecting our Seduction Jutsu. I think you could learn something from it too, big brother Ebisu.”
Ebisu skeptically flipped it open, and upon seeing the content, he quickly closed it and looked around nervously.
“Ahem, this book is indeed good. I’ll keep it safe for you,” Ebisu decided to forgive his two underlings temporarily.
“By the way, find me during lunch break. I want to see how your jutsu training is going,” Ebisu added before leaving.
…
As soon as Obito entered the training ground, he eagerly found Rin Nohara.
“Rin, do you want a teacher?”
“Um?” Rin looked at Obito in confusion.
“I mean, do you want to train under Teacher Mokutsuki?” Obito pulled Rin aside and asked.
“Aren’t we already training under Teacher Mokutsuki?” Rin was even more confused.
Obito scratched his head, feeling he had already made it obvious.
“Not like the usual training, but after class, under Teacher Mokutsuki’s personal guidance,” Obito explained.
“You mean you want to ask if I want to be Teacher Mokutsuki’s disciple?” Rin summarized.
Seeing Rin finally understand, Obito nodded in satisfaction.
“Teacher Mokutsuki is really amazing. If he teaches you, you’ll definitely get stronger quickly,” Obito said.
Since Mokutsuki didn’t allow his disciples to reveal their relationship outside, Obito didn’t directly say that his rapid improvement was due to being Mokutsuki’s disciple.
Rin naturally knew that Mokutsuki was an excellent teacher because he often substituted in their class. However, Rin keenly sensed that Obito’s implication of “amazing” might mean more than just being a great teacher.
Obito suddenly saying this, combined with his significant progress over the past few months, made Rin speculate that Obito’s drastic improvement was due to becoming Mokutsuki’s disciple.
“If you want, you can come with me after school and dinner to a place,” Obito suggested.
“Will this trouble you and Teacher Mokutsuki?” Rin disagreed immediately and asked Obito.
“It’s no trouble at all.” Seeing Rin’s inclination to agree, Obito quickly assured her.
He had already discussed it with Mokutsuki. All she had to do was show up.
Eventually, Rin nodded and agreed.
Having a good teacher was undoubtedly beneficial. She had a good impression of Mokutsuki and was even more curious about him due to Obito’s strong recommendation. How exactly did Mokutsuki teach to cause such a dramatic change in Obito over just a few months?
During the class, Rin glanced at Mokutsuki a few times, noting that his skin was perfect, but she didn’t notice anything else unique.
Mokutsuki, noticing Rin’s gaze, smiled warmly in response.
**[Completed a large class teaching session]**
**[Rating: A]**
**[Reward: Thrilling Leaf Great Whirlwind, Chakra Scalpel]**
The rewards were pretty good, a favorite Taijutsu technique of Might Guy and an advanced medical ninjutsu, both useful in combat.
After class, Mokutsuki first returned to the main district to have dinner, then went to the southern forest to train his disciples.
But this time, it wasn’t just the three disciples; Rin Nohara was there too.
When Rin arrived, she saw Shisui and Might Guy training and was surprised.
She hadn’t expected Shisui to be Mokutsuki’s disciple as well, making her even more curious about him.
When Mokutsuki arrived, the four greeted him, “Teacher Mokutsuki.”
“Good evening, everyone,” Mokutsuki smiled warmly.
“Teacher Mokutsuki seems the same in private as he does at school and the training ground,” Rin thought.
Although Rin hadn’t spoken directly with Mokutsuki, they had communicated through Obito, so there were no surprises, and she smoothly became his disciple.
“Your chakra control is quite good. Would you like to try learning medical ninjutsu?” Mokutsuki asked.
He remembered that Rin had an excellent talent for medical ninjutsu, having mastered the advanced Healing Palm Technique by age twelve.
“Medical ninjutsu…” Rin thought for a moment, her eyes brightening, and she nodded.
She felt this was a good choice. Medical ninjas included famous figures like Tsunade, who was an idol for many Konoha ninjas, including Rin.
“Let’s start with the basic healing technique,” Mokutsuki suggested.
Healing techniques included not just high-level ones like the Healing Palm but also simpler ones like essential healing and hemostasis.
Since it was Rin’s first time with medical ninjutsu, Mokutsuki began with theoretical knowledge.
After the disciples left, Mokutsuki trained alone in the southern forest, practicing his breathing techniques.
Even though staying in a constant state of breathing training helped, additional training improved the results.
Mokutsuki clearly understood the strengths and weaknesses of the two breathing techniques. He typically used the Rock Breathing’s constant state because it was better for physical conditioning, while Flame Breathing was advantageous for enhancing Fire Release in combat.
He was planning a breathing training regimen for his disciples. Once it was complete, they would all practice the breathing techniques together, except for Rin.
Neither of these techniques suited Rin, and she likely wouldn’t be able to learn them.
