One Piece Admiral Seirin - Chapter 37
“You’re not planning an ambush here, are you, Law?”
Inside a modest inn, Rosha and his group followed Law inside.
Rosha glanced around, noting that despite being an inn, the place only housed two seedy-looking men in white and a cute-looking white bear, with no one else in sight.
Rosha took a closer look at the adorably dumb white bear.
That must be Bepo, right?
The other two, wearing hats that covered half their faces, seemed to be named Penguin and Shachi.
Seeing Law enter, Bepo and the two men visibly relaxed.
“Captain, you’re finally back. It’s dangerous out there, full of pirates.”
Bepo’s small eyes were filled with apprehension.
“Don’t worry, they’re not here for us.”
Law set down his long sword and sat beside Bepo and the others, giving Rosha a glance.
“If you’re scared, you can leave, Marines.”
“You figured it out, huh? That’s not good.”
Drake walked in with a sullen expression, plopping down opposite Law.
Law didn’t back down, leaning against Bepo with his legs crossed, smirking.
“It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out. Who else would attack the Giant Bug Pirates at the city gate like that, acting all deadly serious?”
He glanced at Drake, then Rosha.
Drake snorted, rolling his eyes.
Do you think I wanted it this way?
“You’re after the second prince of the Prince Kingdom, right? Trying to rescue the legitimate heir to the throne?”
“You can even guess that? Impressive intelligence. Have you considered joining the Marines? You’d make an excellent ship doctor. Speaking of which, I know an outstanding surgeon. If I could introduce you to him, I’m sure he’d be thrilled.”
Rosha instinctively pulled out a chair for Peacock as she entered, then sat beside Drake opposite Law.
Some of the SWORD officers stayed outside, keeping watch.
Law seemed to consider it for a moment but then shook his head. “I have no such plans. Joining the Marines would prevent me from completing some tasks. Now, let’s talk about what you wanted to discuss. What is it?”
Rosha studied Law closely, noting how much his demeanor matched the portrayal in the manga.
A bit aloof but not cold-hearted.
The reason Law hadn’t considered joining the Marines was likely because Doflamingo was still a Warlord, right? He had always wanted revenge on Doflamingo.
But as a Warlord, the Marines couldn’t touch him. Sometimes, they even had to help him since, on the surface, Warlords and Marines were allies.
Pushing aside his complicated thoughts, Rosha looked at Law and said, “Law, why are you in the Prince Kingdom? And how did you accurately guess our intentions? Are you also after something here? Or is it…”
“Heavenly Yaksha Doflamingo also here?”
Thud!
Drake’s chair toppled backward, his head hitting the floor with a dull thud.
“What?!”
Drake scrambled up like his pants were on fire.
“Why is there another Warlord involved?”
“You really do know a lot.”
Law sat up straight, elbows on his knees, fingers interlaced, thumbs supporting his chin. Half his face was hidden as he looked at Rosha.
Rosha smiled. “So, was I right?”
Drake looked at Law, feeling overwhelmed.
At the 177th Branch, Jennifer had already mentioned that the Giant Bug Pirates might be under Warlord Gecko Moria. That was troubling enough.
Now, another Warlord was involved, and one notoriously difficult to deal with.
As a mere Marine Headquarters Commander, he felt unqualified to contend with these big shots.
Law remained silent for a while before giving a low-voiced, affirmative answer, shattering Drake’s last hope and causing him to collapse back into his chair, defeated.
“You guessed right, Marine.”
“What’s happening in this country indeed has to do with that guy. I haven’t figured out all the details yet, but I can tell you he’s not here.”
Drake sighed in relief, pouring himself a glass of water.
“But his top executive, Trebol, and several family members are in the Prince’s Palace.”
“Choke! Choke! Choke!”
Water sprayed from Drake’s nose, splattering onto Law.
Law’s eye twitched, raising his right hand.
“Room.”
A spinning ripple expanded, forming a hemispherical dome over Drake and himself.
“Tact.”
Law flicked his finger, and Drake vanished from his seat, reappearing at the inn’s entrance, still sitting in his chair.
The water he had spewed hit a stunned officer standing at the door, leaving both of them bewildered.
In front of Law, a new stool appeared.
“An interesting ability, to move things instantly.”
Peacock looked at Law in surprise.
Drake scratched his head, walking back, still confused.
“How did I end up at the door? What happened?”
Rosha facepalmed, “Are you an idiot, Commander Drake?”
“Huh? What did you say?” Drake’s face darkened.
“I said you’re handsome, Commander Drake.”
“Oh, stop it. Hahaha.”
Drake blushed, waving his hand.
Rosha shook his head.
Come on, I’m trying to have a serious conversation. Don’t distract me, you dinosaur.
He coughed and looked at Law again.
“So, your target is Trebol and his men?”
Rosha knew Law had always sought revenge on the Donquixote family.
One could say his desire for revenge on Doflamingo was more substantial than his pursuit of the legendary One Piece.
The law neither confirmed nor denied, remaining silent.
Rosha extended his right hand.
“Then, I think we have a chance to cooperate, Law.”
Law looked up slightly.
Rosha continued.
“Yes, we’re Marines. I won’t hide it. Our goal in entering the city is to find Prince Groose, capture Ilia, and stop his plan to establish a pirate nation.”
“Since Trebol and the Donquixote family are Ilia’s real backers, we can work together to deal with them this time!”
“It’s mutually beneficial. What do you think?”
Law stared at Rosha for a long time before saying softly, “You dare trust a pirate? I am a pirate…”
“Corazon was a kind man. I believe the one he saved with his life will also be kind. Besides, you haven’t massacred civilians yet, have you?”
Rosha whispered, extending his right hand further, smiling at Law.
Law’s body trembled, his lips quivering.
He looked deeply at Rosha before slowly extending his right hand, grasping Rosha’s.
“Alright, I’ll cooperate with the Marines this once.”
