One Piece Admiral Seirin - Chapter 45
Clang!
The gleaming blade struck the chest of the suddenly appearing figure, producing a burst of sparks.
Xis’s strike was powerful, and although it didn’t break through Ross’s defense, it sent his body flying backward.
Seeing that Ross was about to crash into the injured Hawkins, Law crossed his arms and waved.
“ROOM! Shambles!”
Hawkins vanished, and Xis suddenly found himself in his place.
Ross’s body accelerated as he flew backward, his broad back like a wall of steel, slamming into Xis’s shocked face.
Boom!
Xis let out a scream, a few bloodied teeth flying through the air.
Zing!
Xis’s body spun, using his sword to anchor himself to the ground and stop his backward momentum. His face, covered in blood, looked toward Ross and the others.
“You lot, why are you here? Where’s Boss Jones?”
Xis, missing several teeth, spoke with a slur. His eyes darted around and saw the distant chaos, buildings collapsing in clouds of dust and debris.
A colossal white worm, the size of a small mountain, was wreaking havoc in the royal city’s streets. With its remaining eye gouged out by Ross, Jones had temporarily lost track of their position.
Even in his transformed state, Jones seemed to have only a gaping maw without visible eyes.
“He can’t help you now.”
Law, holding his long sword, looked coldly at the increasingly worried Xis. Then, a growling sound interrupted the tension.
Law paused, turning to look at Ross.
“Hungry…”
Ross clutched his rumbling stomach, the effects of Life Return fading, revealing his lean, muscular form.
“So hungry, I need food.”
Ross’s eyes were bloodshot, his silver hair swaying as if caught in an unseen breeze. Law and Hawkins suddenly felt a chill.
“Turns out that power-up state consumes a lot of energy, huh?”
Law mused.
Xis wiped the blood from his mouth, gripping his sword tightly. His eyes were like a lone wolf’s, locked onto Ross and the others.
“Don’t think that without Boss Jones, I can’t handle you lot! Heh.”
He glanced at the other sword lying on the ground, reaching for it.
A transparent dome covered them, and the sword vanished, replaced by a stone that clattered to the ground.
Xis’s face twisted with rage, a vein bulging on his forehead.
“Damn it, my sword.”
“That’s a good quality sword,” Law remarked, holding the suddenly appeared broad-bladed sword. “A bit heavy, not quite my style. Hawkins, your sword broke, so use this one.”
Law handed the sword to Hawkins, who took it gratefully. Law glanced at Hawkins’ gruesome wound under his arm, frowning slightly. “Let me treat your wound first. You’ve lost a lot of blood.”
Hawkins nodded, not refusing.
Watching Law openly perform surgery on Hawkins, Xis was furious, feeling completely disregarded as a threat.
“Heh, you’re the first to ignore me in the North Blue.”
He gripped his sword, crouched down, and exploded with speed, charging at Law and Hawkins with his sword slashing horizontally.
“Iron Cutting Sword!”
The sharpness of his blade increased dramatically, turning him into a human-shaped sword. His speed made his sword strikes blur into phantom-like slashes, sending an arc of sword energy slicing toward Law’s neck.
“Die!”
Xis roared, following the sword’s energy with another slash.
Ross, clutching his stomach, looked up, revealing his blood-red eyes.
“So hungry.”
Boom!
The ground shattered under his feet as his body surged forward, intercepting the sword energy, and shocking Xis.
Xis then smirked cruelly.
“Idiot! Using your body to block my Iron Cutting Sword energy, even Tekkai will be sliced through!”
Splat!
The sword energy struck, blood spraying from Ross’s body, but he did not split in two as Xis had expected.
“What?”
Xis’s smile froze.
Ross’s large hand slapped Xis’s sword aside, ignoring its sharpness. In Xis’s stunned gaze, Ross’s massive foot stomped on his chest.
Crunch!
Bones cracked, and Xis’s chest caved in as he was sent flying like a cannonball.
“ROOM!”
Law waved his hand, creating a swirling air current. A transparent dome enveloped them, and Hawkins vanished.
“Not good!”
Xis’s pupils contracted, trying to stop his flight, but his crushed chest prevented him from moving.
A golden-haired figure appeared behind him, gripping the sword with both hands and drawing a graceful arc in the air.
Splat!
Xis’s world went dark as his head was severed, flying high into the air.
“You’re crazy! Blocking a sharp sword with your body?” Law looked at Ross’s chest, split by a savage wound, and noted his blood-red eyes, shocked by Ross’s self-inflicted brutality.
“Are you okay? Let me treat your wounds.”
Law stepped forward.
Growl.
Ross’s stomach growled loudly. He shook his head, looking toward another part of the city.
“Let’s help Drake deal with that cyborg quickly. Once that blind guy calms down, we’ll be in trouble again.”
Hawkins returned with Xis’s two swords. Law did not use his power again, knowing that using his spatial manipulation ability drained his stamina.
Law’s combat strength was still not as formidable as Ross’s, but his Op-Op Fruit’s abilities were excellent for support.
On the other street.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Explosions rocked the street, making the giant dinosaur roar in anger. Flames and smoke erupted on its body, but the powerful shells could only temporarily halt the dinosaur’s advance.
Sweat poured down Cyborg Houten’s face.
“Is his body made of steel? How is he tougher than me?”
Flames and shells couldn’t inflict fatal damage on the dinosaur, putting Houten in a dire situation.
“Roar!”
A deafening roar erupted from the dense smoke, followed by the earth-shaking under the dinosaur’s massive feet. It charged, jaws wide open, at Houten.
“Get lost! Gatling Storm!”
Ratatatatat!
Bullets poured into the dinosaur’s maw, making it roar in pain and back away.
Houten sighed in relief, but then a transparent dome appeared above him. A large hand grabbed his head and slammed it into the ground.
Boom!
The ground shattered, creating a deep pit with Houten’s head buried in it.
“Who?”
He roared, trying to get up, but a heavy foot stomped on the back of his head, crushing his steel skull.
Ross, clenching his fists, roared:
“I! Am! So! Hungry!”
