One Piece Admiral Silver Fox - Chapter 17
Riding the waves and surging through the turbulent sea, a navy ship speeds along.
“Crack… boom…”
Black clouds cover the sky, giving the horizon the appearance of imminent collapse. Black and red lightning serpents dart through the clouds.
Gale-force winds blow head-on, and Foxy stands on the deck, clutching the ship’s railing tightly. He gazes at the distant horizon, swallowing hard.
After a long journey, they have finally arrived in the New World.
Foxy, unable to bear staying in the infirmary, left his room in the morning.
But something happened earlier, causing the weather to change.
In the distance, he vaguely sees an island looking quite terrifying.
The sea and sky are dark, with the clouds in turmoil and dense, unruly black and red lightning striking everywhere.
The closer they get to the island, the more violent it becomes. Everything before him is visually stunning, showcasing the true power of nature, not some computer-generated effect.
Gradually, other navy ships appeared around them, and some pirate ships could be seen from a distance, but everyone was focused on the stormy island.
Foxy suspects this is Shaitan Island, where the Red Count and Kong battle occurs.
Conqueror’s Haki might cause the black and red lightning.
Even from a distance, Foxy can feel the oppressive aura, making him uneasy.
Apart from the discomfort, he also finds it incredibly cool.
Conqueror’s Haki is truly a king’s innate quality. Not to mention its effects, the special effects alone are captivating.
Could he awaken it, too?
Clenching his fists, Foxy feels a mix of excitement and longing.
The navy ship stops at a certain distance.
At the same time, a crane flies over Foxy’s head, swiftly approaching Shaitan Island.
Several other navy ships are nearby, possibly brought by Kong or as reinforcements.
With the crane’s appearance, many officers on the navy ships cheer, and some high-ranking ones breathe a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, the pirate crews in the distance watch the crane with grave expressions but do not leave, their eyes fixed on the battle above Shaitan Island.
Amidst the roaring thunder and waves, Foxy can also hear the sounds of battle.
Unfortunately, the distance is too great. He can only see a glimpse of Shaitan Island and fleeting flashes of lightning, unable to see the battle clearly or even the island itself.
Even if Foxy were to land on the island now, he wouldn’t be able to see the fight between the Red Count and Kong clearly, as he is too weak.
Turning his head, Foxy’s eyes light up as he notices many marines using binoculars.
Running into the storeroom, Foxy grabs a pair of binoculars, and no one stops him.
After all, Foxy is well-liked on the ship.
Leaning against the railing, Foxy holds up the binoculars, finally able to see the situation on the island.
Mouth slightly open, Foxy’s heartbeat quickens. He sees the entire island shaking, fissures tearing through the land, mountains rising and collapsing into meteor showers crashing to the ground.
Mountains crumble, the earth collapses, lava churns and tectonic plates shift.
Isn’t this a bit too unrealistic?
Watching the anime doesn’t compare to this. The anime is limited to one perspective, and the rest is left to the imagination, but the reality is far more intense.
The visuals, danger, and impact are beyond what the anime could depict.
Foxy is speechless, eyes glued to the scene, afraid to miss anything.
Drawing closer, he sees thunder rolling above the island, with two figures clashing and then quickly separating. Each stands on a mountain peak, staring at the other.
This time, Foxy finally sees clearly.
“Is that the Red Count?”
The Red Count is covered in blood, his clothes tattered, his face showing exhaustion, and he’s panting heavily.
Despite this, he still exudes a sinister charm.
Opposite him, Kong is in a worse state, covered in blood, with deep, bone-revealing wounds all over his body. He kneels on one knee, clutching his chest and coughing up blood mixed with foam.
The difference is clear; Kong is far more injured than the Red Count.
“Kong, let’s end this here. I’m satisfied with this battle.”
With blood-red eyes, the Red Count decides not to continue the fight, feeling unnecessary.
“Planning to escape?”
Shakily rising, Kong looks calmly at the Red Count.
“Escape?”
Turning, the Red Count narrows his eyes and smiles chillingly, “Do you think I can’t kill you, or do you think a woman can defeat me?”
“Woman?”
Kong frowns, sensing an approaching presence—Crane.
“Your Kenbunshoku Haki is truly formidable.”
Kong responds with a cold snort, feeling a twinge of unease.
“Fine, if you want to die, I’ll oblige.”
Raising his black umbrella, the Red Count looks coldly at Kong as sword energy materializes around him, forming a towering column of light that pierces the clouds. The stormy black clouds swirl around the light, creating a vortex.
Violent winds descend, ripples spreading outwards.
Holding the binoculars, Foxy trembles slightly, watching the inverted sky and disaster with awe.
Are these effects real?
“Sky Splitter: Heaven’s Abyss.”
With a fierce descent, the sky is torn asunder, and the brilliant sword column falls towards Kong, like a creation of heaven and earth.
Covered in steam, Kong doesn’t dodge but appears under the sword column. His body swells, and all his Armament Haki condenses on his right arm, turning his fist gold and black.
“Rokushiki Secret Art: Earthquake Punch.”
Amidst endless light, no sound can be heard. The fist and sword column collide, followed by a circular shockwave, creating an explosive force that spreads outwards.
The island begins to disintegrate, countless rocks turning into meteor showers and crashing into the sea.
“Retreat… quickly…”
On the sea, both pirate and navy ships quickly distance themselves.
A gust of wind nearly blows Foxy away, but he clings to the railing and narrowly avoids disaster, the navy ship quickly retreating with the wind.
Even so, Foxy uses all his strength to hold onto the railing, still watching through the binoculars.
No matter how many boulders fall around him, they don’t distract him. He just wants to see the end of this battle.
Foxy is relaxed, but the others, like Ya Fei, deflect falling boulders to ensure the navy ship’s safety.
In the storm’s center, Kong soon coughs up blood and falls like a star, the towering light column crashing down.
With unstoppable force, Shaitan Island splits apart. The sword column’s residual energy extends to the sea towards Foxy’s navy ship.
Foxy’s face turns pale as he watches the approaching storm, feeling a bone-chilling cold.
Cursing his bad luck, Foxy laments inwardly.
His luck couldn’t be worse.
