One Piece Admiral Silver Fox - Chapter 26
Follow me.”
A boy with a hooked nose and a cross-shaped scar on his chin walked up to Foxy, smiling brightly.
“You’re Drake?” Foxy paused, feeling a surge of speculation but not quite sure.
“Is there a problem?” Drake led Foxy toward the dormitory, blinking in confusion.
“Are you a Zoan-type Devil Fruit user?” The more Foxy looked at him, the more convinced he felt. Could this be the future Supernova?
“How did you know?” Drake was surprised, realising he had only just met this red-nosed boy.
“So you really are Drake?” Foxy tried to keep calm, but he was excited inside.
This guy eventually became a traitor, leaving the Navy to join the Worst Generation. It was surprising to learn he was once under Zephyr’s tutelage.
When the Supernovas first appeared, Drake was quite serious. But as a child, he seemed so cheerful and innocent. People do change.
And he had already eaten a Devil Fruit, a Zoan Ancient-type carnivorous dinosaur. Foxy couldn’t remember the exact dinosaur, but it explained why Drake was among the leaders during the run—Zoan types were known for their stamina.
Wait. If Foxy remembers correctly, Drake’s father acquired the Ope Ope no Mi, intending to sell it to the World Government. It was ultimately taken by Doflamingo’s brother, Corazon, and given to Law.
The Ope Ope no Mi—the eternal youth operation alone made Foxy salivate. He had to find a way to control this fruit. Foxy feared death, so he had been so careful and performed well.
Immortality! Who wouldn’t want to live forever?
Foxy needed to build a good relationship with Drake. There was still time; Drake’s father was likely still in the Navy and hadn’t yet obtained the Ope Ope no Mi. Foxy had a chance—a big chance.
But when did Drake leave the Navy?
As the thought flashed through his mind, Foxy looked at Drake with newfound friendliness.
With Foxy intentionally being friendly, the two boys quickly became acquainted.
From Drake, Foxy learned that Drake was only 13 and had already eaten the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Allosaurus. His father was currently a Navy officer.
Perhaps because his father later defected, Drake was profoundly affected, which changed his once cheerful and open personality.
Drake hadn’t been at the academy for long, either.
Through Drake, Foxy got to know the other trainees. He discovered that Drake wasn’t the only future traitor among them.
Gasparde, the boy with the blond hair and fierce face who had looked down on Foxy earlier, was also a future traitor. He was the final boss in the movie “Adventure of Dead End,” a Devil Fruit user with the Paramecia-type Ame Ame no Mi, also known as the Candy-Candy Fruit.
Currently 15 years old, Gasparde could transform parts of his body into any shape and trap anything that attacked him within his candy body.
His weakness was flour.
Foxy recalled that Gasparde’s Devil Fruit was similar to Katakuri’s Mochi-Mochi Fruit and Magellan’s Doku-Doku Fruit—a particular Paramecia type. Despite its power, he ultimately lost to the destined protagonist.
Sad and pitiful!
Besides Drake and Gasparde, there were a few other notable figures among the trainees.
For instance, a long-armed boy seemed to be from the Longarm Tribe. He would later follow Zephyr after his defection and fight against Luffy, who was overpowering him. He also battled Vice Admiral Dalmatian while escorting a giant prisoner, holding his own.
He mastered the Rokushiki and two forms of Haki. His name was Shuzo.
Shuzo was one of the leading runners, currently 16 years old.
Then there was the wild Loli, who would grow up to have many male fans due to her stunning appearance. She was Hina, also known as Tashigi, now 12 years old with long pink hair and a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit user of the Ori Ori no Mi.
Foxy would have liked to take her home and raise her if circumstances allowed.
There were also two other kids Foxy vaguely remembered. One was Berry Good, a 15-year-old with a unique appearance—an afro, sausage-shaped chin, and a big X on his forehead. His Paramecia-type Beri Beri no Mi allowed his body to turn into ball-like pieces, similar to Buggy’s Bara Bara no Mi.
The other was Shion, a 16-year-old with the Paramecia-type Sabi Sabi no Mi, which could rust anything. He once rusted Zoro’s sword in the future. Any metal he touched would decay into dust.
These Devil Fruits were powerful but were sadly underutilised in the original series.
Foxy knew that the rest of these trainees would likely become officers in the Navy someday.
As he had guessed, these kids would all become Navy officers in the future, like Sicily, Dalmatian, Kibin, Catacomb, and Kadarou.
Though they were young now, they would still end up as minor characters.
Foxy felt a pang of regret. These kids had such powerful Devil Fruits, which were far better than his, with fewer limitations.
The next day, before dawn, Foxy dreamed of becoming an admiral, intimidating pirates, and living a luxurious life when a loud noise abruptly awakened him.
Opening his eyes groggily, Foxy was confused.
“Foxy, get up! It’s time to gather,” Drake hurriedly reminded him, quickly putting on his clothes.
The five-person dorm included Drake, Berry Good, Shion, Shuzo, and Foxy. Foxy didn’t know why Zephyr assigned him here, but now wasn’t the time to ponder.
Seeing the others quickly dressing, Foxy followed suit, feeling the tense and oppressive atmosphere, reminding him of his lost youth during military training.
Thanks to his recent experience with the Marines, Foxy managed to get ready quickly.
They reached the training ground just as dawn was breaking. The moon and stars were still visible, casting a dim light over the field.
However, someone was already waiting for them on the field.
A glance around revealed a few new faces among the group, all looking solemnly ahead, including the wild loli.
“You’re fifty seconds late! Are you pigs?” Zephyr barked, pacing back and forth.
Though Zephyr didn’t release any aura, Foxy couldn’t help but shiver. Some of the kids even trembled slightly.
“Follow me.”
A young man with a hawk-like nose and a scar across his chin walked up to Foxy with a friendly smile, looking quite cheerful.
“Are you Drake?”
Foxy was slightly stunned, a guess forming in his mind but not yet confirmed.
“Is there a problem?”
Leading Foxy towards the dormitory, Drake blinked playfully.
“Are you an Zoan-type Devil Fruit user?”
Looking increasingly specific, Foxy wondered if this guy was one of the future supernovas.
“How did you know?”
Drake was momentarily taken aback as if he had just met the red-nosed fellow.
“Are you really Drake?”
Foxy kept his cool, excitement bubbling within him. This guy was notorious, one of the future Supernovas and a future Marine defector, a key figure who would later become one of the Worst Generation. Who would have thought that Zephyr had also trained him?
During the debut of the Supernovas, this guy seemed quite serious. How come he’s so cheerful and innocent now? People do change.
It turned out he had already consumed a Devil Fruit, the Ancient Zoan-type Allosaurus, and his father was a Marine Rear Admiral. His father’s influence seemed profound, shaping his later rebellion and transforming his personality from cheerful to grim.
Foxy realised he needed to befriend this guy. With his current plan of becoming a Marine Admiral, he couldn’t afford to miss out on the benefits of Drake’s background and the possibility of securing the Surgery Fruit. The fruit was a treasure for its longevity and cosmetic surgery potential, something Foxy drooled over.
He remembered the incident where Drake’s father tried to sell the Surgery Fruit to the World Government, only to have it intercepted by Doflamingo’s brother, Corazon, and fed to Law. It was essential to get hold of that fruit for its life-extending properties. Who wouldn’t want to live forever?
Foxy figured he had to cultivate a good relationship with this guy. Time was on his side, and he could exploit it. His thoughts briefly flashed, and he looked at Drake with renewed respect.
As Foxy tried to get along, he and Drake gradually became closer. Through their conversations, Foxy learned that Drake was 13 years old, having eaten the Zoan-type, Ancient Species, Allosaurus Fruit. His father was a Marine Rear Admiral.
His father’s military background had influenced Drake’s rebellious streak, so he joined the Marine Academy not long ago.
Through Drake, Foxy also got to know the other trainees and discovered that some were not just ordinary students. Among them were:
- Capone Bege, who later would be known as one of the supernovas. He had a habit of eating and was considered to be quite strong. He was 14 years old and had a formidable Devil Fruit, the “Fire-Fire Fruit,” which allowed him to control flames.
- Basil Hawkins had a formidable ability with the “Straw Straw Fruit,” making him nearly invincible. He was 14 years old as well.
- Urouge, with the power of the “Fruity Fruity Fruit,” was considered quite mysterious. He was 15 years old and had a unique ability to grow more robust when faced with adversity.
- X Drake, the future pirate known for his bravery and cunning, was 14 years old and already displayed his fierce demeanour. His devil fruit was the Allosaurus, a powerful Zoan-type.
Foxy noticed that these individuals, like Drake, were notable for their Devil Fruits and exceptional skills and backgrounds. Besides Drake and the others, there were a few other prominent figures, including:
- **Tina (Tina), who had a head full of pink hair and the power of the “Cage Cage Fruit,” was a Superhuman Devil Fruit user. She was only 12 years old, and though small, she was already formidable.
- Belli Good had a devil fruit similar to Buggy’s, which allowed him to transform into any shape. He was 15 years old, with a unique look and a powerful ability.
- Shuen, a man who could rust anything, was 16 years old and known for his “Rust Rust Fruit.” His abilities were particularly lethal against metallic objects.
Foxy realised these people would eventually become high-ranking Marines like Kizaru, Sengoku, and Garp. It was astonishing how each had a powerful Devil Fruit yet still ended up in the Marine hierarchy, destined to play significant roles.
The next day, as the first light of dawn began to break, Foxy, who was dreaming of becoming a Marine Admiral, woke up with a start. A loud thunderclap had jolted him from his sleep. Opening his eyes, he found Drake rushing to get dressed.
“Foxy, wake up, it’s time for assembly.”
With a hurried look, Drake was already up and ready, and Foxy, still groggy, hurried to follow suit. They were in a dormitory for five: Drake, Belli Good, Shuen, Shuho, and Foxy.
Foxy was puzzled why Zephyr had put him with them but knew it wasn’t the time to ponder that. Everyone else was already in a rush, afraid of being late.
After quickly dressing, Foxy joined the others on the field. The sky was still a hazy twilight, with the moon and stars still lingering. One person was already waiting on the field.
After a quick scan, Foxy noticed a few more people in the crowd, all serious and facing forward, including the wild little girl.
“Being fifty seconds late, are you pigs?”
Zephyr’s voice was stern, and he walked back and forth, though he didn’t exude much pressure. Still, Foxy felt his heart race, and some of the trainees visibly shivered.
Drake: 20 years later, around 33 years old, during the Marineford War, his records showed he was once cheerful.
Kaspard: 35 years old.
Belli Good: 35 years old.
Shuen: 36 years old.
Shuzo: 36 years old.
Tina (Tina): 32 years old.
