One Piece Admiral Silver Fox - Chapter 50
Foxy headed to the officers ‘ quarters after saying goodbye to Gasparde and the others. A head peeked out from behind the door as he rang the doorbell. It was Gion, looking as beautiful as ever.
“Foxy.”
Gion greeted him, wearing slippers and a nightgown that exuded sexiness and charm.
“Sister Gion.”
Foxy used the familiar term he had started calling her last time, which Gion hadn’t objected to, so he continued using it, becoming more accustomed to it.
“Has it already been two months?”
She walked to the gate and opened it, her large eyes blinking as she looked at Foxy.
“Yes, we just arrived at Marineford.”
Nodding, Foxy glanced at Gion’s ample chest, still full and upright.
“You came here right after arriving?”
Gion laughed as they walked towards the house.
“Is Vice Admiral Tsuru at home?” Foxy smiled, scratching his head as he asked. After all, he was just a fourteen-year-old kid, so he had to act the part. Besides, he genuinely was entirely innocent.
“She’s home, handling some official duties.”
Gion called into the house, “Sister, Foxy is here.”
Sitting on the sofa, Foxy held the juice Gion had given him, taking a small sip.
“Foxy?”
Vice Admiral Tsuru walked out of another room, wearing glasses.
“Vice Admiral Tsuru.”
Foxy stood up and saluted.
“Sit down. This isn’t a formal place.”
Tsuru waved her hand, indicating that Foxy didn’t need to be so formal. She then sat on the sofa, took off her glasses, and scanned Foxy up and down, finally nodding in satisfaction. “It seems the two months on the isolated island have made you grow a lot.”
“How do you feel about the past two months?”
“It was dangerous and challenging, but I managed to endure,” Foxy replied sternly, touching the three scars on his right cheek.
Tsuru took the coffee Gion handed her and smiled without saying anything.
“Have you mastered Shave?”
Gion, familiar with the naval academy’s processes, directly asked Foxy.
“I’ve got the basics down, but I still need to keep working on it. Also…”
Foxy hesitated, looking a bit embarrassed.
“Just say it if there’s something.”
Tsuru sipped her coffee and spoke.
“I think there’s something wrong with my training over the past two months. With Instructor Zephyr not around, I wanted to ask for your advice, Vice Admiral.”
Foxy looked genuinely troubled, though only he knew if it was true.
“Something wrong with your training?” Tsuru put down her coffee, her expression turning serious.
“Yes.”
“What kind of problem?” Gion seemed concerned. Since Foxy had dined at their home, they had become quite familiar, and Tsuru occasionally mentioned him to her.
“I can’t explain it well. I need to demonstrate.”
Foxy looked frustrated.
“Let’s go to the front yard.”
Tsuru stood up, curious to see what was going on with Foxy. She had always paid attention to him, as he had left a strong impression.
Foxy stood up, too, grabbing some fruit from the table.
In the front yard, Foxy handed the fruit plate to Gion. “Sister Gion, could you please throw these fruits at me?”
After creating some distance, Foxy closed his right eye. “Sister Gion, please go easy on me.”
Holding the fruit plate, Gion exchanged a glance with Tsuru, a flicker of understanding passing between them. Could it be…?
“Be careful then.”
Gion quickly picked up an apple, tossed it, and threw it at Foxy.
Foxy, eyes closed and mind clear, slightly tilted his body at the last moment, dodging the apple perfectly.
Both Tsuru and Gion’s eyes lit up.
“Gion, increase the speed.”
“Got it.”
Gion flashed around Foxy, throwing apples, bananas, and pears from all directions.
To their surprise, Foxy dodged every single one. Though Gion had held back, the speed was still too fast for an average trainee to avoid.
“Foxy, now try to point out Gion’s position.”
“Alright.”
Foxy still had his eyes closed.
Tsuru signaled Gion to move.
The next second, Gion vanished from her spot and reappeared on the roof, moving silently.
But Foxy raised his hand and pointed directly at Gion.
Then Gion appeared on a tree behind Foxy, and again, he accurately pointed her out.
This happened four or five times, and Foxy got it right each time. Both Tsuru and Gion smiled broadly.
“Foxy, try again.”
Gion decided to have some fun. She stood two meters in front of Foxy without making a sound.
This time, Foxy frowned, unable to sense her presence.
“Sister Gion, I can’t sense where you are, but I can smell your perfume, so you must be here.”
Foxy smiled, pointing accurately at Gion’s location.
“Impressive, Foxy. I underestimated you.”
Gion laughed, patting Foxy’s head.
Opening his right eye, Foxy looked at Gion, puzzled. “Sister Gion, why could I sense you earlier, but not just now?”
“That’s because I used Observation Haki to counter your perception.”
“Observation Haki?”
Foxy looked genuinely confused as if he didn’t understand anything.
“Let’s go inside and talk.”
Tsuru, in a good mood, looked at Foxy with increasing satisfaction. She hadn’t expected him to not only master Shave in two months but also awaken Observation Haki on his own.
Sitting back down on the sofa, Tsuru beamed. “Foxy, your talent is impressive. You’ve awakened Observation Haki by yourself.”
“So this is Observation Haki?”
“Yes. Observation Haki is one of the three types of Haki. It sharpens your senses, allowing you to detect the presence, emotions, and intentions of others. It can also be used to foresee and evade danger.
This potential power is innate in all humans, like an instinct, but most people are unaware of it or can’t tap into it their entire lives.
When you can strongly sense others’ ‘voices,’ that’s Observation Haki. Once you enhance this ability, you can detect enemies’ positions, numbers, and subsequent moves outside your sight.
Observation Haki is closely tied to your mental state. It requires effective calmness and can’t be used when you’re emotional or irrational.
Observation Haki has various functions: sensing attacks, predicting the next move, gauging the strength of beings, sensing emotions and thoughts, and detecting positions and numbers of unseen objects. The range and strength vary from person to person.
Observation Haki has extended abilities at advanced levels, making one nearly invincible upon awakening.”
Tsuru explained seriously, and Foxy listened attentively. Even Gion, though already knowledgeable, listened thoughtfully.
