One Piece Admiral Silver Fox - Chapter 51
“Furthermore, the three types of Haki are generally divided into four levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced, and master. As Observation Haki is refined, individuals may awaken extended abilities, though this largely depends on their innate talent. Some may tap into these abilities upon initial awakening, while others may never reach them, even after reaching an advanced level.”
“Vice Admiral, what are these extended abilities of Observation Haki?”
Foxy’s eyes sparkled with curiosity. He had only a vague concept of Observation Haki before, but now, listening to Tsuru, he felt a sense of clarity.
“There are generally four types. The first is emotional perception, where one can easily sense the emotions of living beings, influence their thoughts, and even control their emotions.
The second is future sight, which allows one to see glimpses of the future.
The third is memory reading, which lets one see into others’ hearts and even alter their memories.
The fourth is the ability to hear the voice of all things.
There may be other abilities, but these are the main ones I know of. Awakening these extended abilities is no less complicated than ascending to the heavens.”
Tsuru’s expression was severe.
Deep in thought, Foxy felt like a grand door was opening before him.
“Vice Admiral, has anyone awakened these abilities?”
Foxy had a few people in mind but had to feign ignorance.
“I know of two: Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King, and Bartholomew Redfield, the Red Count. Roger could hear the voice of all things, while Redfield could read memories and see into hearts, even alter memories. I’m not entirely sure of the specific uses of these abilities.”
Tsuru sighed, acknowledging the strength of these individuals despite them being enemies.
Foxy knew another person who had awakened an extended ability: Charlotte Katakuri, Big Mom’s son, who could see the future—a genuinely overpowered ability. There was also Queen Otohime of Fish-Man Island, who could sense emotions. As of now, Otohime was likely still alive.
Besides these, Foxy recalled many others who had awakened extended abilities of Observation Haki, such as Admiral Fujitora, who, despite being blind, could sense his surroundings to such an extent that he could precisely manipulate meteors.
Then there was Enel of Skypiea, whose “Mantra” could detect thoughts and cover a vast range.
Given the world’s vastness, numerous individuals with unique Observation Haki abilities were bound to exist, even if they were rare.
“So, Vice Admiral, I have Observation Haki?”
“Yes, you’ve awakened it. Now, you need to practice and refine it. With your talent, awakening a special Observation Haki ability isn’t out of the question.”
Tsuru nodded, smiling.
Foxy was genuinely pleased. He hadn’t expected to awaken Observation Haki by chance.
“Vice Admiral, you mentioned three types of Haki. What are the other two?”
Taking a sip of coffee, Tsuru continued.
“The three types of Haki are Observation Haki, Armament Haki, and Conqueror’s Haki. Both Observation and Armament Haki are latent abilities inherent in living beings. These powers are linked to one’s presence, killing intent, and fighting spirit.
When manipulating these unseen forces, one’s willpower becomes a weapon. This powerful force is known as Haki.
Armament Haki, another latent human power, can enhance personal defense in battle, acting like invisible armor. It can also be used offensively to contend with Devil Fruit users, even allowing physical contact with Logia users’ actual forms.
Armament Haki can seize a Logia user’s body but can’t nullify their powers like Seastone or the sea. It can also be imbued into weapons to increase their attack power.”
“Vice Admiral, does Armament Haki have extended abilities like Observation Haki?”
Foxy sat up straight, listening intently.
“Strictly speaking, it has two primary functions: increasing attack power and enhancing defense. Once Armament Haki reaches an intermediate level, it can be materialized, allowing one to strike Logia users. It can transform objects at advanced levels, like turning a coffee cup into a sword or spear.
Even a leaf can become a lethal weapon for those proficient in Armament Haki. The color manifestation of Armament Haki varies by user.”
“How can I awaken Armament Haki?” Foxy was eager.
“Awakening Armament Haki requires reaching a physical threshold and experiencing numerous battles and life-threatening situations. It often involves enduring severe bodily harm to force out one’s potential. Despite this, very few succeed, as many fall before reaching that point.
It requires courage, resilience, and perseverance, as well as facing numerous life-or-death situations. The danger is self-evident.”
Taking a deep breath, Foxy nodded thoughtfully. Awakening Armament Haki, through near-death experiences, was incredibly risky and not guaranteed success.
“Vice Admiral, what about Conqueror’s Haki?”
“Conqueror’s Haki?” Tsuru paused before continuing. “Conqueror’s Haki is a rare type of Haki that only those with the qualities of a king possess. Users can exert their willpower over others, intimidating and even knocking out those with weaker wills.
Unlike observation and Armament Haki, conqueror’s haki cannot be learned; it is an innate ability that cannot be inherited. It is the rarest type, found in only one in several million people.
I don’t know much about it since I don’t possess Conqueror’s Haki myself.”
Tsuru didn’t elaborate much on Conqueror’s Haki as her knowledge was limited.
“I see.”
Foxy felt that his chances of awakening Conqueror’s Haki were slim. Combining forum discussions from his past life and what Tsuru had said, it seemed Conqueror’s Haki was a gift bestowed by fate, marking those destined for greatness.
Some people are born prodigies, while others are not. Foxy felt he fell into the latter category.
He didn’t stress over it. If he could awaken Conqueror’s Haki, that would be great. If not, he wouldn’t force it. Everything would happen in its own time.
While Conqueror’s Haki was a matter of fate, Foxy was determined to master Observation and Armament Haki and become invincible.
