One Piece Admiral Silver Fox - Chapter 53
“What? You’re saying this is Armament Haki? The legendary Armament Haki that can touch Logia users’ real bodies?”
Sitting cross-legged on the training field, Berry Good and Shuuen widened their eyes in shock. They glanced at Foxy, then back at Gasparde and Shuzo.
“That’s right. It’s Armament Haki, the versatile force that can be used both offensively and defensively.”
Unable to hide his envy, Foxy looked at Gasparde and Shuzo with a displeased expression.
Gasparde and Shuzo raised their hands, and with a thought, Armament Haki covered their fists. Though thin and barely visible, it was indeed Armament Haki.
Seeing the envy, jealousy, and resentment on Foxy, Shuuen, and Berry Good’s faces, Gasparde and Shuzo felt a warm satisfaction, as if they had drunk honey.
The feeling of being envied was simply too excellent.
“I feel betrayed.”
Shuuen frowned, looking at Gasparde and Shuzo with a sour expression.
“We agreed to survive together, but you two secretly awakened Armament Haki. Our friendship turns out to be so fickle. That’s just wrong.”
Spitting on the ground, Foxy looked at Gasparde and Shuzo with disdain.
“Yeah, you traitors.”
Berry Good joined in, strongly condemning them.
“Hahaha…”
Gasparde and Shuzo burst into laughter, their voices growing louder.
“Shuuen, Berry Good, any ideas?” Foxy asked, his face darkening.
“It’s just about dinner time.”
The three of them looked at Gasparde and Shuzo, their eyes full of mischief, waiting for them to catch on.
“One meal.”
Shuzo held up one finger.
“What?” Foxy, Shuuen, and Berry Good cracked their knuckles ominously.
“We can’t take you two one-on-one, but if we join forces, hmph!”
Berry Good’s eyes glinted with menace, ready to strike any moment.
“Two meals. You know how much money Shuzo and I have,” Gasparde finally relented after hesitating.
“Let’s go. Tonight, we’ll eat you two dry. We’re going to the most expensive restaurant in Marineford.”
Standing up, Shuuen waved his hand dramatically.
“No objections.”
Berry Good and Foxy raised their hands in agreement.
The five then linked arms and headed towards Marineford’s commercial street.
Although they said they would go to the most expensive restaurant, they just ended up at a barbecue.
None of them had family in Marineford, and since they trained at the academy, they didn’t have much money. Even if they did, the academy gave only a few thousand Berries.
In other words, they were all dirt poor.
Usually, when they went out for a treat, Drake footed the bill. It was always Drake paying, and Foxy and the others didn’t feel guilty.
“Boss, fifty skewers of takoyaki to start, and five cases of strong liquor.”
Berry Good shouted to the shop owner, then sat at one of the outdoor tables.
The academy didn’t restrict their freedom, so they had come out several times during training.
Even though they were only fifteen or sixteen, they already knew how to drink and could handle their alcohol quite well.
“So, what was it like awakening Armament Haki?”
While waiting for the food, Foxy asked Gasparde and Shuzo.
“It wasn’t much. I just felt a warm current in my body, and when I concentrated it in my hand, I found my attacks got stronger.”
Both Gasparde and Shuzo described the sensation as a vague feeling.
“It just happened suddenly?”
Foxy rubbed his chin. It was similar to his experience with awakening Observation Haki, which was an inexplicable understanding.
“You must have been fighting at the time, right?”
“I was fighting a forty-meter-tall gorilla. Almost got killed.”
Shuzo laughed. “But I won in the end.”
“And you?” Foxy turned to Gasparde.
“I was fighting a giant bird. Also almost died.”
Gaspard shrugged, not too concerned.
“Envy.”
Berry Good and Shuuen stared at the two with envy.
“You two aren’t far off. You might awaken soon too.”
Foxy comforted them, not mentioning his awakening of Observation Haki to avoid overwhelming them.
Sometimes, friendships need a bit of care.
“Foxy’s right. We didn’t expect to awaken it either.”
The drinks arrived, and Shuzo quickly opened a few bottles.
“Say no more, let’s drink until we drop tonight,” Gasparde suggested, grabbing a bottle and taking a long swig.
“Starting strong, huh?” Foxy chuckled, following suit.
“Glug, glug…”
Their throats moved as they gulped down the liquor.
“Ah… I’ve been holding this in for two months.”
Berry Good exhaled, looking satisfied.
“Not a soul to talk to, constantly on guard against attacks.”
Shuuen wiped his mouth, agreeing with Berry Good.
“Enough talk, drink up.”
With the clinking of bottles, the atmosphere grew livelier.
Before they knew it, the moon was high in the sky, and the food stalls were closing. Shuuen, Berry Good, and Shuzo had already passed out.
Only Foxy and Gasparde remained somewhat conscious, though still quite drunk.
“Hey! Time to go back.”
Foxy shook Shuuen and Berry Good, who were sprawled on the table.
“Leave me alone, let me sleep a bit more,” Berry Good mumbled.
“Keep drinking,” Shuzo muttered, entirely out of it.
“I’ll settle the bill.”
Gasparde staggered to his feet, reeking of alcohol.
Foxy shook his head, trying to clear it, but his mind was still foggy.
“Can you make it back?”
Seeing Gasparde return after paying, Foxy took a deep breath.
Maybe due to his Observation of Haki, Foxy managed to stay somewhat steady, though he was still quite dizzy.
“I can manage.”
Gasparde nodded, though Foxy seemed to be swaying before his eyes.
“Then grab Shuzo. Let’s head back to the academy.”
“Alright.”
Gasparde grabbed Shuzo’s hand, dragging him like a sack of potatoes.
“You’re going the wrong way. It’s this way.”
Foxy tried to lift Berry Good but felt too dizzy, so he dragged Berry Good and Shuuen by their collars like trash bags.
They bumped into things back, but even so, Shuzo, Berry Good, and Shuuen showed no signs of waking up.
Under the moonlight, two staggering figures dragged three drunkards back to the academy.
The following day, as dawn broke, everything started to wake up.
Golden sunlight poured down, making everything look beautiful.
“Foxy… wake up… wake up…”
Half-asleep, Foxy felt someone calling him.
He opened his eyes slightly, seeing a pretty face, slightly pouting with a hint of annoyance.
“Hina, why are you in my dream?”
Foxy closed his eyes again after a glance.
“You lazy pig.”
Hina pouted, patting Foxy’s face. “Instructor Zephyr is waiting for you to gather.”
“What?”
Reacting instinctively, Foxy shot up.
“Giggle…”
Seeing Foxy’s reaction, Hina laughed, clutching her stomach.
