One Piece Admiral Silver Fox - Chapter 62
Captain Gott Di, where are we going?” Foxy asked as they walked.
“If it were Shave (Soru), I could teach you, but I don’t know Finger Gun (Shigan), so we’ll need to find another officer,” Gott Di admitted without hesitation.
Foxy furrowed his brow in confusion.
“Don’t worry. The higher-ups have already arranged everything,” Gott Di reassured with a grin, noticing Foxy’s puzzled expression.
This reminder brought clarity to Foxy as a certain figure flashed through his mind. Indeed, having connections made things much easier.
“Thank you, Captain Gott Di,” Foxy said, looking up at him gratefully.
Based on his achievements, Foxy knew he should have only been promoted to Corporal. Learning one of the Six Powers was even more out of reach, considering that Spider was technically defeated by both him and Gott Di. This promotion was Gott Di’s gesture of goodwill.
From his time at the academy, Foxy knew that typically, only Ensigns with significant military merits were eligible to learn the Six Powers. Yet here he was, a Sergeant with only a few minor accomplishments, being given this rare opportunity. It was obvious who was behind this favour.
“Ha! Foxy, I have high hopes for you,” Gott Di laughed heartily, appreciating Foxy’s awareness. Sometimes, investing in others could save one a lot of trouble down the road.
As Foxy suspected, Gott Di had credited Foxy with all the achievements, not just to build goodwill but also to leave a favourable impression on the person backing Foxy.
Before long, they arrived at a residence within the fortress. Gott Di knocked on the door.
“Come in,” a familiar voice called out, surprising Foxy.
As they entered, Foxy saw a face he recognized, and his astonishment grew.
“Tsuru-sister, what are you doing here?” he exclaimed.
“What? Surprised to see me?” she replied playfully, stepping out from behind her desk to stand in front of Foxy. She patted his head approvingly. “You did well this time, managing to take down two pirates with bounties of 40 million each.”
“Major General,” Gott Di greeted her nervously, saluting.
“Thank you, Captain Gott Di. You may leave now,” she said warmly.
“Yes, ma’am,” Gott Di responded, leaving the room.
Foxy, still dazed by her presence, caught a whiff of her familiar scent. Tsuru was wearing a Major General’s coat of justice, a red shirt that struggled to contain her ample chest, orange shorts, and a spider tattoo on her left thigh. She was as stunning as ever.
“Tsuru-sister, did you come here just for me? That would be too much of a coincidence,” Foxy said, laughing foolishly even though he knew it wasn’t true.
Rolling her eyes, Tsuru sat on a nearby sofa and motioned for Foxy to sit as well. “I was assigned a task here, needed to guard this place for half a month and clean up the surrounding pirates,” she explained.
“Oh, that makes sense. I was wondering why I didn’t see you when we left,” Foxy realized.
“Alright, which of the Six Powers do you want to learn?” she asked, crossing her legs and looking at him expectantly.
“You’re going to teach me?” Foxy asked, surprised.
“Of course. I told Gott Di to bring you here if you chose the Six Powers. Looks like I guessed right,” she replied with a knowing smile.
“Do you know Finger Gun?” Foxy asked, skeptical.
Without a word, Tsuru extended her white finger and lightly pressed it against the desk. The solid wood immediately bore a finger-sized hole.
Seeing the smooth hole, Foxy’s eyelid twitched. “Wow, Tsuru-sister, you’re amazing,” he said, grinning.
Tsuru, arms crossed, simply watched him, making Foxy feel a bit guilty.
“If you want to learn Finger Gun, I’ll teach you. But it’s dangerous. One wrong move and your fingers could be permanently damaged. Are you sure you want to learn it?” she asked seriously.
“I’m sure,” Foxy nodded firmly.
“Alright, let’s head outside,” she said, seeing his determination.
Outside, Tsuru began explaining and demonstrating the technique.
“Finger Gun focuses all your body’s strength into your finger, delivering a hardened, bullet-like attack capable of piercing through flesh and even steel. Mastery can lead to long-distance, tangible attacks,” she explained.
Foxy listened intently, his eyes fixed on her demonstration. They trained until late at night before Foxy returned to his quarters.
Sitting cross-legged on his bed, Foxy tried to absorb everything Tsuru had taught him. If one looked closely, they could see his hands were slightly swollen.
This surprise had come swiftly, making Foxy fully appreciate the benefits of having powerful connections. It justified his cautious and humble demeanour, behaving like a sycophant.
After fully digesting Tsuru’s teachings, Foxy began working on his Devil Fruit ability. He had little time to rest, sleeping only three to four hours a day.
Forming an orchid finger with his right hand, he compressed the slow-motion halo into a sword tip. Compared to his progress on the Calm Belt, this tip was now five to six centimetres long.
Foxy realized that shaping the ability into a weapon seemed to enhance his training. If he could shape the slow-motion halo, it didn’t have to be a halo—it could be a thread or a bullet.
The most significant discovery was that his ability could affect himself if he wanted it to. He could make the slow-motion beam do not affect him if he chose, granting him immunity.
This realization made Foxy’s eyes light up. It made sense—why would his ability harm him?
He was more excited about the potential benefits. In battle, he could slow down all damage or negative effects, maintaining peak conditions for a short period. This would make him unstoppable.
Excited by this possibility, Foxy felt a burning desire to train harder. Despite the many flaws of the Slow-Slow Fruit, it still had immense potential once fully developed.
However, Foxy was incredibly busy now. He had to develop his Devil Fruit, master Shave and Moonwalk, enhance his Observation Haki, continue basic training, and now learn Finger Gun. And he still hadn’t touched Armament Haki, making him feel like there weren’t enough hours in the day.
And that wasn’t even considering the other Six Powers.
