One Piece Admiral Silver Fox - Chapter 66
The duck quickly ran to Foxy’s side, using its wings-like hands to open the red cross box. Inside were bandages and medical supplies.
Staring at the contents, the duck seemed puzzled, unsure of what to use. After thinking for three seconds, it roughly flipped Foxy onto his back and haphazardly poured powders from the bottles onto his wounds, then wrapped him up like a mummy, leaving only his nose and mouth exposed.
The duck then put the remaining bottles back in the box, hung it around its neck, and with its beak, lifted Foxy onto its back. A clear cracking sound was heard, and the once-white bandages quickly turned red.
With a burst of sand, the duck disappeared, leaving behind bloodstained sand and empty bottles that told the tale of what happened there.
At Marineford, in the Chief of Staff’s office, Vice Admiral Tsuru looked troubled as she listened to the reporting marine.
“Is the news confirmed?” she asked.
“Yes, ma’am. Captain Gott Di’s warship encountered the Waldo Pirates in the Alabasta waters and was sunk by the World Breaker, Bundy Waldo. All marines aboard were lost.”
“Has a search been conducted?”
“Yes, nearby bases dispatched ships, but found nothing.”
“I see. You may go,” Tsuru said, her brows furrowing as she rubbed her temples in regret.
She hadn’t expected Foxy to encounter the World Breaker. Even she might struggle against such a foe. Gott Di and Foxy had no chance of survival.
What a pity, she thought. If Foxy had grown stronger, he would undoubtedly become a pillar of the Navy. But fate had other plans.
Tsuru remained rational. She sighed and returned to her work. She couldn’t dwell on Foxy’s demise; she had faced such situations countless times.
Days passed. All the cadets who went out for training had returned, except Foxy and a few others. On the training field, Gasparde and his companions appeared darker and more seasoned.
“Hehe, I’m a sergeant now,” Drake boasted upon seeing Shuzo and the others.
“As if you’re the only one who got promoted. I’m a sergeant too,” Shuzo said, rolling his eyes.
“I’m a corporal,” Barry Good added, smiling.
“Me too,” Shuen said, grinning.
“And you, Gaspard?” Drake asked smugly.
“Sergeant,” Gasparde replied, giving Drake a disdainful look.
“What kind of look is that? We’re the same rank!” Drake retorted, annoyed.
“I envy you all,” Hina said, a bit wistfully. She had wanted to go out for training too, but Zephyr had stopped her. She would have to wait until next year.
“By the way, where’s Foxy? He hasn’t come back yet,” Drake wondered, eager to show off to Foxy, hoping his rank would be lower.
“Yeah, why isn’t he back yet?”
“Maybe something came up,” someone suggested.
“Attention!” Zephyr called, walking over with a stern expression that could be sensed from afar.
“Some of you returned alive, some sacrificed their lives, but overall, the results were decent. At least not everyone perished,” he said, hands behind his back, looking at the spirited cadets without much satisfaction.
For some reason, Gasparde and the others felt uneasy.
“Drake,” Zephyr called, noticing Drake’s raised hand.
“Teacher Zephyr, have all the cadets returned?”
“Everyone is here.”
“Then those who haven’t…”
“All died in battle with pirates,” Zephyr sighed internally. He had high hopes for Foxy but hadn’t expected…
“Teacher Zephyr, Foxy… Foxy didn’t…” Shuen stammered, nervous.
“I’m sorry to say, Foxy’s ship encountered the World Breaker, Bundy Waldo, with a bounty of 380 million. The entire ship was lost,” Zephyr said frankly.
“What?”
“This can’t be.”
“Foxy’s so strong, how could…” Drake clutched his head, unable to believe it.
Gasparde and Shuen clenched their fists, their eyes reddening. Barry Good and Shuen screamed in denial, and even Hina stood pale and stunned.
“You have three days off to digest this experience. Training will intensify afterwards,” Zephyr announced coldly, glancing at them.
“How could Foxy be dead?” They were all distraught. They had never considered Foxy could die, especially with his powerful Devil Fruit ability.
Meanwhile, in the eastern Alabasta desert, in a shaded rocky area, a mummy wrapped in blood-stained bandages lay, with only its nose and mouth exposed. Nearby, many deceitful birds perched on rocks.
Next to the mummy, a fat duck sat, its wings tucked under its head as it snored, occasionally making funny faces in its sleep.
The rocky area was filled with human travel bags and supplies, indicating it was a deceitful bird’s nest. Somehow, a duck had integrated into the flock, coexisting harmoniously despite being a different species.
Three days had passed since the duck brought Foxy back. Whether it was the medication or luck, Foxy’s breathing had stabilized.
During this time, the duck changed Foxy’s bandages three times, indiscriminately applying various medicines. Fortunately, none were poisonous, or Foxy might have died.
Surviving was indeed a miracle.
Another night passed. As the sun rose the next day, Foxy finally stirred.
Pain, deep and bone-searing, made Foxy wish for death. His body felt like it was being cut continuously, making breathing difficult.
“Am I dead?” He tried to open his eyes but couldn’t. His limbs were bound, and any movement brought sharp pain.
He was alive, he realized. He could breathe, feel pain, and sense his body. He stopped struggling, heart pounding with relief.
Expanding his Observation Haki, Foxy sensed many creatures around him, but not human. They felt like animals.
Blackbeard can eat two Devil Fruits; any thoughts? Feel free to share your ideas; the author could use some inspiration.
