Chapter 253: You Are Too Weak, Ace
At this critical moment, Ace resolutely made his return.
Although Luffy was his younger brother and his most important family member, Ace understood that Luffy had his own life, adventures, and companions. Marco was one of his most important companions in life.
“Looks like I can’t just leave you, Marco,” Ace said with a smile.
Ace’s return meant that the situation would worsen, and he could potentially be killed by Solo if he wasn’t careful. But he didn’t want to make a decision he would regret.
“Ace?!”
Marco’s face turned pale in surprise. He had done everything to ensure Ace’s escape and had even risked his own life for it. He couldn’t believe that Ace had come back.
“Are you crazy, Ace? With your strength, you can’t defeat him!” Marco exclaimed.
“Get out of here. I’ll handle things,” Ace replied.
Despite his injuries, Marco attempted to get up from the ground. However, he coughed up blood and found himself unable to stand.
Ace didn’t pay much attention to Marco’s condition. He had made his decision to stay and fight. He also wanted to avenge Whitebeard with his own hands.
After blocking Solo’s attack, Ace assumed a shooting posture with his hands raised.
“Musket!”
Ace roared, unleashing a continuous barrage of flames from his fingertips, resembling a machine gun firing at Solo.
However, Solo easily dodged Ace’s attacks. Their eyes met, and Solo vanished in an instant, using his incredible speed.
Ace widened his eyes in surprise. “Is Marco fighting against such a monster?” he wondered. He decided to use his elemental powers to evade physical attacks and counter Solo with his hot flames.
Ace activated his abilities, releasing a large wall of flames to separate himself from Marco. He urged Marco to leave the area.
But Solo’s voice suddenly rang out. “Your mind is indeed flexible, Ace,” Solo taunted. Ace couldn’t see Solo anywhere.
“It’s a pity that you rely too much on your Devil Fruit abilities. Your physical skills are far from the level of a true powerhouse. Someone like Blackbeard could defeat you, let alone the gap between you and me,” Solo’s voice echoed from above.
Ace instantly raised his head, his body engulfed in fierce flames that soared into the sky like a pillar of fire.
“My physical strength may be inferior to Marco and Whitebeard, but don’t underestimate my reliance on my Devil Fruit power,” Ace declared defiantly. He challenged Solo to break through his flames.
Ace remembered his battle with Blackbeard and knew that his defeat was not solely due to his lack of physical skills. Blackbeard had taken advantage of his knowledge of Ace’s abilities. But now, surrounded by allies who understood Solo’s powers, Ace believed he had a chance to win.
“You may have weakened physical strength after so many battles,” Ace taunted Solo, doubling the intensity of his flames. He knew that if Solo touched his flames, he could instantly perceive his opponent’s position and launch a counterattack.
But Solo dismissed Ace’s words calmly. He clenched his fists, compressing the surrounding air and creating a white dome. Then, with a thunderous sound, he unleashed a shockwave that dissipated Ace’s flames and sent him crashing to the ground.
Ace gritted his teeth, feeling the immense pain as his body was crushed by the force of Solo’s attack. The entire Marineford square was torn apart, leaving a massive crack.
Ace realized that the power gap between them was insurmountable. He couldn’t continue the fight.
However, before he could recover, another wave of danger approached. Luffy’s voice rang out once again.
Without considering his own safety, Luffy couldn’t bear to see Ace in such a dire situation. In his mind, they would face their enemies together. If he couldn’t save Ace, he would rather die trying.
Taking a deep breath, Luffy prepared himself, his eyes locked onto Solo. He knew the strength of their opponent, a formidable enemy that even the entire Straw Hat Pirate Group couldn’t defeat alone.
Luffy believed in seizing the only opportunity they had: Solo’s momentary vulnerability when he descended from the sky.
“Machine Gun!”
Luffy unleashed a relentless barrage of punches, overwhelming the sky. However, Solo, confident in his Armament Haki, didn’t even attempt to dodge. He simply wrapped his body in Haki, allowing Luffy’s punches to strike.
Solo landed calmly under the barrage of punches, his power far surpassing Luffy’s. He spoke calmly, “Since you brothers refuse to leave, then let me explain it to the Marines hiding here.”
The power gap between the two sides was immense, and Luffy couldn’t accept defeat. Even though he knew the odds were against him, he refused to give up.
“Third Gear!”
But even so, Luffy still did not give up.
