One Piece: Almost Exposed That I Am Stronger Than Roger - Chapter 256
Chapter 256: Garp vs Solo
Upon seeing Garp charging toward Solo, Aokiji’s expression turned serious. Garp was one of the Marines he respected the most at the entire Marine Headquarters.
Unexpectedly, the situation had pushed him to this extent. On one hand, Garp couldn’t bear to see Ace and Luffy die at the hands of Solo. On the other hand, his sense of justice didn’t allow him to side with the pirates.
Bang!
Garp and Solo clashed once again, their Armament Haki intertwining. Their fists and blades collided, creating brilliant sparks.
The impact generated a powerful air current that swept in all directions. The pirates who attempted to rush to Ace and Luffy’s rescue couldn’t withstand the shock and were sent flying, falling heavily to the ground.
Garp and Solo faced each other, quickly separating. This time, Solo discarded Kogarashi and chose to fight using physical techniques. Solo employed the Eight Inner Gates to move at high speed, while Garp showcased the Rokushiki.
In the eyes of the Marines and pirates watching, it seemed as though Solo and Garp had vanished from their positions. The sound of their fists colliding echoed repeatedly.
Both combatants could feel the immense power emanating from each other’s attacks, turbulent and surging. However, Garp’s eyes held a hint of surprise. Though he knew Solo possessed exceptional physical skills, only through direct combat did he truly understand it.
Solo’s physical techniques were not only incredibly fast but also tremendously powerful. Had Garp not cultivated his Armament Haki to such a level, Solo might have exploited the flaws in his techniques and defeated him directly.
Garp swallowed nervously, his throat rolling. He couldn’t help but sigh deeply, realizing that, in the entire Marine Headquarters, he should have been the foremost expert in physical techniques.
Yet, he couldn’t find any flaws in Solo’s movements. To his astonishment, Solo’s speed was steadily increasing as they fought.
Suddenly, a loud noise erupted in Garp’s ears. Solo’s fist broke through Garp’s defense and struck his chest with terrifying force.
The impact sent Garp crashing to the ground, overwhelmed by the horrifying power. Garp found himself unable to react to the situation unfolding before him.
‘Incredible’
Garp couldn’t comprehend why Solo’s physical techniques were so formidable, especially considering that he was still just a young man. Garp’s widened eyes showed his astonishment as he collided with the square, creating a massive crater.
Sengoku couldn’t help but be stunned by this sudden turn of events. Garp, suppressed by Solo? Sengoku blinked, wondering if he was hallucinating.
Although he had a faint suspicion that Solo’s physical skills might surpass Garp’s, seeing it happen before his eyes were still shocking. Garp, the Vice Admiral, was a legendary Marine hero. He wasn’t like these pirates.
“Grandfather?!”
Ace couldn’t believe that his nearly invincible grandpa was being suppressed, punched by Solo, and knocked out of the air. It was incredible, beyond his imagination. Marco couldn’t help but smile.
Even after Whitebeard’s death, Garp couldn’t match Solo’s strength. Did this mean that Solo had truly become an invincible existence? The scariest part was that Solo had only utilized Armament Haki while fighting Garp, not his Tremor Tremor Fruit powers. If he had, his combat abilities would be even more formidable.
However…
Marco took a deep breath, his eyes becoming sharp. Garp was still a Vice Admiral, a member of the Marines, and a legendary figure. He wasn’t like the other pirates. Even if Marco were to intervene and stand before Solo, the situation would be completely different.
Solo wouldn’t be able to kill Garp, or else powerhouses like Aokiji and Sengoku would undoubtedly rush to stop him. Most importantly, Marco couldn’t sense any killing intent from Solo’s attacks, and his mindset was entirely different from when they fought.
“As long as Solo doesn’t intend to go all out against Garp, he should be able to buy us some time,” Marco thought.
If he could make good use of this opportunity, he might be able to recover to a certain extent. Though he didn’t dare hope to reach his peak state, transforming into a phoenix once again would be sufficient. While Garp kept Solo occupied, Luffy could escape with Ace.
And Solo had eaten the Tremor Tremor Fruit, meaning he had a weakness—the fear of seawater. Marco focused his attention and worked on recovering as quickly as possible.
However…
The Marines on the scene noticed Marco’s actions and hurriedly rushed towards him and the others, attempting to seize this opportunity for accomplishment. But the remaining members of the Whitebeard Pirates were not weak nor cowardly.
Once they realized the Marines’ true intentions, they gathered together and did their best to protect Marco, buying him time.
On the other side…
Solo descended from the air and pursued Garp. Faced with the fierce young Marine, Garp covered his body with Armament Haki, turning it completely black. With a thunderous impact, Solo’s punch struck Garp’s chest.
Despite Garp’s Armament Haki, he couldn’t fully withstand the force behind the blow. A spurt of blood escaped Garp’s mouth, shocking Sengoku even further.
“Enough, stop!”
Sengoku’s anger flared, and he shouted at Garp and Solo, ordering them to cease the fight. However… Neither Garp nor Solo paid any attention to Sengoku’s voice. At that moment, they only saw each other, their eyes locked on one another.
“Come on, Solo!”
Garp held his breath, clenched his fists, and charged straight at Solo. Solo welcomed him with his palm. They collided once again, creating an invisible shockwave that rippled in all directions.
