Chapter 258: Shanks Arrives

Marco kicked his feet hard, causing the ground beneath him to crumble. Like a speeding bullet, he flew toward Ace and Luffy. His feet transformed into claws, grabbing Ace’s shoulders while reaching out the other foot towards Luffy.

Marco focused and held his breath. He dared not even glance at Solo, knowing that any moment of carelessness could be fatal. In Marco’s eyes, Solo was a terrifying monster.

“Marco, you’re persistent,” Solo murmured, observing the rescue attempt.

He couldn’t allow Marco to save Ace and Luffy, especially Ace. If Ace were to leave with Marco, it would cause chaos and uncertainty. Without hesitation, Solo raised his cherry tree sword and swung it toward Marco, who was flying at a low altitude.

Marco felt a sudden surge of killing intent, but he had no time to dodge. The sword energy struck him, and his armored Haki couldn’t protect him from being slashed to the ground.

“Give up, Marco. With your current strength, you can’t save yourself, let alone Ace and Luffy,” Solo taunted.

Solo had made up his mind to end Ace’s life. Just as Solo prepared to strike, a long silver knife appeared between him and Ace, creating a sharp sound. The entire Marineford fell into stunned silence.

No one could believe their eyes, not even the wisest of generals, the Warring States. It was none other than Red Hair Shanks, the youngest of the Four Emperors of the New World, who had arrived unexpectedly.

Shanks stood with one hand on his sword, blocking Solo’s attack. Behind him stood the Red Hair Pirates, ready to fight.

“Why is Red Hair here? Isn’t he supposed to be fighting Kaido?” Sengoku exclaimed in disbelief.

Garp, pinned to the ground by the Warring States, was also shocked by Shanks’ arrival. He felt a wave of relief as Shanks saved Ace.

Garp couldn’t bear to lose his grandson, Ace, even if he was an enemy of the World Government.

“Sengoku!” Garp shouted angrily, struggling to break free.

Solo, witnessing the scene, felt a sense of surprise. Although he knew as a time traveler that Shanks would appear and try to stop the war, he didn’t expect it to happen at this precise moment.

“The entire Whitebeard Pirates have been decimated by you, the Marine. Even Whitebeard is dead. Isn’t that enough?” Shanks questioned Solo.

“Give me a favor and let these people go,” Shanks added.

Solo hesitated for a moment, feeling a strange power in Shanks’ words. But ultimately, he shook his head and firmly refused.

However, the arrival of Shanks brought a renewed sense of confidence to the pirates present, viewing him as a savior.
