One Piece: Almost Exposed That I Am Stronger Than Roger - Chapter 265
Chapter 265: Death of Ace
As Solo was about to strike Ace, Shanks’ deputy, Beckman, appeared instantly by Solo’s side. Holding his musket, Beckman aimed at Solo’s vital points. However, Solo didn’t seem concerned about Beckman’s threat.
“If you have the ability, go ahead and shoot,” Solo calmly remarked.
“Beckman,” Solo spoke in a low voice, withdrawing another renowned sword, Oto, from his waist and pointing it directly at Ace’s heart, preparing to strike.
“This marine…”
Beckman gasped in disbelief and quickly pulled the trigger. The lead bullet, infused with Haki, advanced towards Solo, surrounded by an imposing aura. But in the next moment, Solo vanished from his position.
The bullet whizzed past Ace and hit a pirate, causing an immediate explosion. A thunderous roar echoed through the Marineford square as a gray mushroom cloud billowed into the sky. Beckman widened his eyes in astonishment at the sheer speed displayed by the marine officer. It surpassed even the speed of a bullet.
“Beckman, how do you plan to meet your end?” Solo appeared suddenly behind Beckman, his words laced with a crushing sense of oppression.
“You…”
Beckman turned his head sharply, feeling an imminent sense of danger. His eyes widened in shock as he realized his body couldn’t keep up with Solo’s speed. In one swift slash, Solo struck Beckman’s chest, slicing through his clothes, skin, and muscles, revealing organs and bones.
Beckman, even in this critical moment, managed to coat himself with Haki, but it was too late. The difference in strength between them was insurmountable.
A surge of black sword energy propelled Beckman backward. Witnessing this, other members of the Red Hair Pirates turned their attention to Solo.
“Even Beckman couldn’t last a single round?”
“How powerful is this marine officer?”
“He’s simply a monster.”
The elite members of the Red Hair Pirates marveled at Solo’s strength. These individuals were all renowned powerhouses in the New World, yet they were in awe of Solo’s abilities.
“Leave Solo undisturbed for now,” a blue figure descended from the sky, blocking the path of the Red Hair Pirates.
Cold air emanated from the man, forming a thick ice wall behind him. It was none other than Aokiji, who appeared directly in front of the Red Hair Pirates, preventing them from intervening with Solo.
At this moment, both the marine and the pirates focused all their attention on Solo. Even the Fleet Admiral, Sengoku, gritted his teeth and struggled to control Kizaru. The final step was at hand.
As long as Solo approached Ace and pierced him with Muku, the evil blood of Gol D. Roger would be severed completely. The decisive battle would reach its ultimate victory.
“Hurry, Solo!”
Sengoku couldn’t help but roar inwardly. He sensed that with each step Solo took, Garp’s power increased by a point. If it continued like this, Sengoku couldn’t be fully certain they could restrain Garp. After all, Garp was consumed by extreme anger.
However, Solo remained unaware of this or simply didn’t care. He swung his hand, pointing the tip of Muku’s knife at the ground. Luffy was unconscious, Marco was recovering, the Red Hair Pirates were detained by Aokiji, and Shanks was dealing with the aftermath of the shockwave he caused. No one could stop Solo.
“Ace,” Solo couldn’t help but feel a tinge of sadness in his eyes as he approached the final step.
After all, Ace had been one of his favorite characters for a time. He regretted Ace’s death at the hands of Akainu.
“If only you weren’t a pirate,” Solo remarked with a tinge of complaint as he approached Ace.
If Ace had been an ordinary civilian instead of a pirate, he might have let him go. Solo didn’t agree with the theory of bloodline evil. His reason for wanting to kill Ace wasn’t solely because he was Roger the Pirate King’s son; it was because he was a pirate.
“To ensure stability in this sea and to free the common people from constant fear, the pirates must vanish from this sea,” Solo spoke softly. “This isn’t about you, Ace.”
But Ace remained silent, paying no heed to Solo’s words.
“Huh?!” Solo frowned, unable to perceive Ace’s aura despite his overwhelming presence.
Ace…was already dead.
Even before this moment, Ace had sustained severe injuries. Solo’s final strike was unnecessary; the execution had already taken place. Ace’s death further pushed Garp beyond the brink of insanity.
Garp could no longer contain his anger. Haki erupted from him, soaring into the sky. Even Sengoku’s attempt to suppress him proved futile.
“Garp!”
Sengoku gritted his teeth tightly as his worst fears came true. In order to prevent Garp from going berserk in Marineford, he had no choice but to use his full strength.
Dazzling golden light radiated from Sengoku’s body, dazzlingly bright. His body began to enlarge and harden at a visible pace.
Uniting his fingers, Sengoku launched a palm strike at Garp, unleashing a white shockwave to crush him and pin him to the ground once again. However, this time, Garp shrouded himself with both Conqueror’s Haki and Armament Haki simultaneously. He turned pitch black.
Facing Sengoku’s attack, Garp paid it no mind. A deafening explosion reverberated around him. The square beneath his feet crumbled and collapsed, forming a deep circular pit. But such an attack was futile against Garp, as it wouldn’t hinder him in the slightest.
“If you want to stop me, Sengoku, you must have the resolve to kill me,” Garp’s voice turned colder.
The death of Ace had ignited an explosion of emotions within him. Most importantly, Luffy was still in Marineford. Given Solo’s personality, he would never let Luffy go. Garp could no longer bear to witness the death of his second grandson at Solo’s hands.
In an instant, a murderous aura permeated the sky, overwhelming Solo.
